Happy Friday! Here’s last week’s highlights (July 31-August 6, 2023)! Monday, Rob and I had lunch with Alex at the Savahn Thai Kitchen. Always enjoy my time with that boy. I have really been struggling with sleeping some nights. Maybe products from TopShelfBc might help. Last Tuesday I ended up having to go into work later because I was just so dead when the alarm went off. I made myself breakfast before heading into work. I’m in a search committee chair for an open position that I supervise in my department. My 1st time chairing a search committee. Last week,…

Here’s a run down of happenings from July 20-30… I got these while in New Jersey at Trader Joe’s. So yummy! I picked one of these up somewhere along our trip and found it to be really good. My new favorite sparkling water for sure! This week back after vacay I really got back to cooking, but then after several nights of cooking I’m back to being burnt out with it. With that being said, when we got back from our trip, Rob was pretty sick. Caitlyn and Drew were so sweet to bring soup over for us that weekend.…

Luckily cold pockets in the lake still showed up here…

On Saturday, the 17th I flew to DFW, rented a car, and drove a little over an hour to my sister’s house in Weatherford, TX. My sister was due to have a baby the week of June 16th. However, Baby Lu came a month early, so I had to adjust my plans for a visit. Luckily nothing was set in stone with my trip so I was able to do it over a holiday (Juneteenth) weekend. I’ve taken solo trips to Texas before but this was the first time to rent a car on my own. I will say I…

I enjoyed following their trip through their BeReal posts. Eating lots of healthy peanut butter on Ezekial bread with banana. My go to meal lately especially since Rob is gone. Tuesday About every other week, I make a big batch of taco meat to use different ways. I have been craving enchiritos (burrito/enchilada), so I got these Carb Balance Flour Tortillas and made these. They were so good!…

I feel like these weeks lately are flying faster than normal and I continue to get further and further behind on blogging. Oh well…doing what I can, when I can. 🙂 Here’s last week’s Weekly highlights (May 8th-14th, 2023)… Tuesday Alex sent me this pic of a strawberry milkshake he made at work. It looked so yummy. During finals week, these little squishy ‘stress’ tigers got hidden throughout the library. I found one that never got found. I left it there. Thursday These 2 came over and made stir fry for dinner. They made enough for an army! I had…

How is it Monday, Again!!?? Geez… Here are week 18 happenings (May 1-7th, 2023). And how is it May already? I saw this news story, and it just hit me hard, with our mind still fresh from my son’s wedding a couple of months ago. I just cannot even imagine or fathom how terrible this would be to live through. Really last week didn’t have anything major that I’m remembering… Kayleigh just looked so cute on top of the stairs. I went with Rob to the Friday night baseball game. We ended up taking 2 out of 3 from #1 LSU!…

Happy Monday yall! Here are week 17 highlights (April 24-30, 2023). Monday Oh Monday, how I don’t want to think back to that evening. I think I’m going to write an entire post about this, because I have a lot to say. The vote didn’t go the way Rob and I wanted, which makes me very, very sad. I’ll share more later. Tuesday We’re in the last couple weeks of the semester, which means I’m ramping up and getting ready for the next semester. My current students sent in their requested summer work schedules, so I now I have to…

Week 15 was April 10th-16th and that was the week were in the desert. I was going to do a summary post, but I haven’t been able to go through the pics… Week 16 was last week (April 17th-23rd). Here’s a quick run down of happenings there. Monday Drew dropped Bigsby off Monday morning. I had taken the day off because that was the day we got back from our trip at 8:30am and I knew I would need sleep. I pulled out the big red bed for him to lay on. Instead he rolls up into a little wad…

Hey yall! Here we are for another week of highlights (April 3rd-9th, 2023). You know me…always playing catch up when it comes this place. 🙂 Thanks to those who stick around and show me some love. Tuesday I think I mentioned it in my last weekly post, but when we were in Florida, I was having some pretty bad stomach issues. I couldn’t get into the nurse practitioner until Tuesday. They were guessing it’s my gallbladder, which is what I’ve been thinking. Friday I went in for an ultrasound and found out I have ‘sludge and possibly a small gallstone.’…

We left that Sunday to go down Florida to help Rob’s family in his grandparents house. With our jobs if the death in the family is so many miles away you get extra days of bereavement leave. We got 5 days off and ended up using all of it. Here’s some highlights from the week. Monday Since we were down in Florida and needed to do something besides go through stuff and pack, we took Monday to drive over to Dunedin for the last spring training game of the year there. Dunedin is our favorite Spring Training town. It was…

Happy Monday yall! Let’s jump straight in for week 12 highlights (March 20-26, 2023). Monday Not sure how many of you know what’s going on with the Methodist church. You may have heard rumblings of different churches ‘disaffiliating’ from the United Methodist church. My church is finally beginning to entertain the idea of allowing discussions and to set out all the facts. We had a meeting to share some facts. Then, we did a survey to get a feel for what people are thinking as far as entering discernment. When I find an article that sums it up in a…

He was Irish, so in celebration of St. Patty’s day and his life, Rob got some Irish Whiskey. Friday night we had a little of that and just spent time thinking and talking about him. We know he is happy to be…

Still playing catch up, because all those wedding posts took awhile! The week after the wedding (Feb. 27-March 5, 2023) was still a pretty busy week. I was so tired of my living room still looking like this: Monday I spent a good part of the day going through all the boxes and reorganizing everything. Most stuff just got thrown in boxes with no rhyme or reason. I also started washing the table clothes. Mid morning, I got a text from Rob’s mom that they were in town and wanted to stop by. So when they got to the house,…
