iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Alex started school on Monday traditionally! Here he is before he drove off to school. I was finally able to get a pic of Kayleigh with the Snapchat filter. Since Drew moved out, Alex was able to move over into his larger bedroom. No pics of that yet. I’ll show pics once he finished organizing stuff. So with Alex moving out of his room, that opened up the room for Rob to make an office as well as have an empty room for guests to stay in. We went shopping Saturday to get desk. Here…

So I’m a few days behind posting my Weekly post, which usually comes out Sundays or Mondays, but this last weekend was busy with all the grad stuff. I’ll post about that as soon as work slows down. iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON I took my nieces shopping for a back to school outfit and they love their Starbucks! Just keepin’ it real, folks. My office is a rat hole right now. I’ll get it clean…not soon enough! This kind of mess gets under my skin, but I just don’t have the energy or the time to clean it up.…

Today I’m sharing with you our Day 2 of our Rochester, NY trip. That morning I dropped Rob off at his training and headed on over to the Erie Canal. We were there the night before, but it was getting dark. So I was anxious to see it more in the daytime. That morning it was pretty foggy and overcast, which made for some interesting photos. The Erie Canal is a canal in New York, United States that is part of the east–west, cross-state route of the New York State Canal System, which was built to create a navigable water…

It’s time for another currently post. choosing I am choosing to try very hard not worry, but then I worry about not worrying. It’s a struggle. I think so many of see and hear things, whether it be on social media or on the news with all this COVID stuff. “Schools not going to open when it supposed to.” “There’s not going to be any college football.” “So and so has COVID.” It just goes on and on and that brings us stress and worry. A couple days ago I finally deleted my Facebook app on my phone, because I…

PICS & GOINGS ON When I looked at all my pics on my phone for this last week, they were almost all from the garden! With it being the end of month last week, I updated you with most everything that happened last week in those posts. So here’s what happened in the garden last week… My Dr. Wyche’s Yellow Tomato is blushing/ripening/changing color. I’m so excited! This was on Wednesday. On Saturday, it was fully ripened and ready to pick! Drew and I ate some on our hamburgers this past weekend and oh boy! were they good. Much sweeter…

This month I was happy about: getting slicer tomatoes to fully ripe! Just so exciting! This month I was sad about: having terrible poison ivy. I talked about that here. This year I’m going to rate the books & movies. Here’s my rating system: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must read/see! ♥ = Really good! Highly recommend. ✓ ✓ = Good, not great ✓ = Not much to talk about X = Awful. Total waste of time Movies I watched were: Don’t think we watched any movies. TV Shows I watched were: The Baker and the Beauty (ABC) ♥…

I’m honestly not even sure where to start with this garden post, since I haven’t done a great job of documenting it here all along. I know I’ve mentioned it a lot the last few months. To start off I’d like to say that this garden would not have been a thing if it weren’t for Jess at Roots & Refuge Farm and her Youtube channel. I started watching her about a year and half ago, I think it was when another Youtuber/Blogger friend, Constance from Cosmopolitan Cornbread mentioned her. Jess and her hubby who she lovingly calls ‘Sweet Miah’…

What a day it’s been already! Up at the crack of dawn to take Drew’s Graduation pics. It started off at 70° and was 80° by the time we were done. Doesn’t sound that bad, but it was 60% humidity, so I was dripping sweat by the time were done. I’ll post some of those pics later. I started interviewing for my student work force in my department last week, and those are continuing on this week. The last few weeks at the end and the beginning of each semester is really busy for me with interviewing, hiring, training and…

PICS & GOINGS ON These got sent out this week! It is getting real and coming fast. I planted some Marigold seeds kind of late, but love that some of them are starting to bloom. Not sure what kind of bugs are camped out on them. So for those of you who’ve never gardened before or maybe have never heard that you can find bugs in the dark with a black light much easier, well it’s true. I only found this one very large worm; not sure what kind it is, and one tiny slug on another pepper plant. With…

These are such an easy and delicious recipe that you can whip up in no time! Servings: 6 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 25 minutes Ingredients: 1…

PICS & GOINGS ON Here’s Katniss hanging out on the deck stairs, which comes down from our bedroom. Here’s the house right before they started installing gutters that’s they extension cord is running in the yard. Here’s the after – Nasty old awning gone is probably the biggest different you can see. And Kayleigh is just the cutest and this is one evening before the bugs got so terribly bad that even the Citronella candles don’t help. Alex often fills this cup up with Goldfish or something and eats in the playroom. Well, apparently he left it on the couch,…

Today I wanted to share with you a new to me food product that is so good! I’m usually not a fan of ready made sauces like this, but decided to give it a try. My boys love fajitas, but I find it a chore to marinade meat ahead of time and fire up the grill. All this means we don’t ever have fajitas at home! And that’s why I decided to give Frontera Fajita Sauce a shot. We all love it! So easy and so delicious! Servings: 4-6 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Ingredients: 1 yellow…

I haven’t done a “The Weekly” post since last year. I thought that maybe since we’re half way done through this year, I’d start doing these posts every week again. It’s a good way to quickly rundown things that are happening and share some pics. Not sure how that will affect my end of the month posts >>>> Memories of the Month & What’s Up Wednesday PICS In my Friday Favorites post last week I shared most of the pics that I would have shared here. Here’s 2 pics I didn’t share. 1:Here’s Katniss in the chair under our kitchen…

Linking up with Momfessionals & a Little Bit of Everything Blog I can’t believe I didn’t do a Friday Favorites posts at all during the month of June! I mean time just flies by so quickly. So here we are it’s July! I just got an email from the school system about Fall Learning Models. We have the option to keep kids home during the Fall and do online school with strict guidelines or they can return to school for the Fall and must wear a mask, yadda, yadda, yadda. I think he and I are both ready for him…

This month I was happy about: getting some time away on a week long vacay! Our new neighbors are just lovely! I am so so excited and thankful to have good neighbors again. This month I was sad about: This year I’m going to rate the books & movies. Here’s my rating system: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must read/see! ♥ = Really good! Highly recommend. ✓ ✓ = Good, not great ✓ = Not much to talk about X = Awful. Total waste of time Movies I watched were: TV Shows I watched were: The Baker and the…

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday a week late, because last week I was on vacation. What We’re Eating This last month we learned how to cook Spare Ribs. The university has a meat lab, and ever since the Pandemic we’ve been ordering from them more often. After cooking ribs on Memorial Day weekend, I found more ribs and Publix for really cheap, so we got a few racks. They are so yummy. Next time we make them I need to take pics, so I can share the recipe. What I’m Reminiscing About Lots…

I blinked and June is over. Here’s my Currently post for July! Hope you’re having a great Summer so far. I’m cooking… several shrimp recipes that I did back in Summer 2017 that I never shared. I need to make the recipes again and write everything down so I can share them with you. I’m photographing… my garden. We were on vacation last week and my sis-in-law took care of our cat and my garden while we were gone. It rained a lot, so when we got back my garden has exploded with tomatoes! Peppers are bigger. I’m sharing… a…

Thank you for following along on our Mountain West Trip. This is the last post for this trip. Today I am talking about what we did the last day in half, all of which was spent in and around Denver, CO. We had a few things on our list for Denver. First two things were Denver Mint and Coors Brewing Company. The Denver Mint wasn’t doing tours that day for some reason, so we headed over to Coors Brewing Company for a tour. It’s $10 for non-Colorado residents ($5 if you live in CO) and it includes a full tour,…

Over this time of quarantine, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and have really tried to up my Instant Pot game. I thought through what I make on a regular basis that isn’t really that great and Spaghetti actually came to mind! Yeah, my Spaghetti is never that great. The sauce ends up runny. The noodle and sauce separate. I decided maybe the Instant Pot will be all the answers to this issue. And I was right! It did fix all my issues. My spaghetti in the Instant Pot is melded together and my kids say its the best…
