    The Weekly [10.18-24.2020]

Here’s my run down from last week that I call “The Weekly.” How was last week for you? I worked from home and didn’t really have a lot going on, which if you know me…You know I love! Oh I almost forgot. Last Sunday I got together with a few of my friends from Cookbook Club. This was our first gathering since COVID. We didn’t bring food to share. We just brought our own food/drink. We sat outside on Joscie’s front porch and enjoyed conversations while socially distanced of course! It was so good to have some girl time. No…

    Fall Scavenger Hunt

I’ve said this so many times, but I really do love Fall. A few weeks back I decided to embrace the fact that I’m late writing and sharing these fall posts. I wrote a Fall Food Bucket list as well as a Fall Fun Bucket list. This week I thought it would be fun to make a Fall Scavenger hunt. I made this so you could just go for a walk with your family. Pull this up on your phone or print it to give to the kids and see which of these items you can find! Click to Download…

    The Weekly [10.11-17.2020]

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON This last week was a busy week of working in the office, but still making the best of it. Here’s a run down of some of the fun… Look at the baby Tabasco peppers! They are finally growing. Turns out they needed fertilizer. *eye roll* Hashtag First time gardener problems Kayleigh and Alex playing on the floor. Last week Rob and I watched the National League Championship Series with the Braves and Dodgers. Sometime Alex would come down and actually watch the game with us. He’s not a baseball fan, but I think he enjoys…

YouTube Channel Favorites – Fall 2020

I promised a while back that I would write a post about my favorite YouTube channels that I’m currently watching. I don’t know if you’ve embraced YouTube yet. I know I only watched YouTube for how to videos until maybe 3 years ago. I go through phases where regular TV just gets old and YouTube always has something new and current about any topic you can imagine. I enjoy YouTube channels of all sorts. My kids think I’m weird because some of the stuff I watch, but I really enjoy it. I think the main reason I like every channel…

    Fall Fun Bucket List

Last week I shared my Fall Food Bucket list in an effort to find new recipes to add to my Fall traditions. Today I decided to go ahead and make a Fall Fun Bucket List, even if we are nearly half way done with my favorite season! It’s never too late to decide to bring more fun and joy into your life, right? Did you make a Fall Bucket List? I’d love to hear what you’ve checked off your list so far this year. The Weekly [10.4-10.2020]

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Last Sunday, we drove to church that afternoon for drive by communion as well as blessing of the pets. Everybody loved seeing Kayleigh. Rob and Drew went the Auburn football game Saturday. This is a pretty big deal with COVID. Auburn decided to make game by game decisions on who can attend. The first game was pretty much students only. This game, which was the 2nd home game was a mix of season ticket holder and students. It was a yucky, rainy day. Hence the reason I didn’t go. So it was a pretty bleak…

    Fall Food Bucket List

Raise your hand if fall is your favorite season. Raise your hand if you are in a cooking rut like me. My friend, Leslie over at Once Upon a Time Happily Ever After asked me like a month ago to join in on the Autumn Bucket List fun. I finally had some time recently to think more about fall and really just the fact that we’re still in COVID season, too and what would be better than making a regular bucket list, but making a fall food bucket list! And that’s what I did! Here’s a list of 22 fall…

    Currently – October 2020

It’s time for another Currently post. I’ll admit these prompts were hard for me. admiring I’ve recently been watching some YouTubers (Kara and Nate) and their interesting life during this COVID time. Nate mountain biked the Colorado Trail with his brother and a friend. My Dad was an avid cycler and mountain biker who lived in Colorado, so he’s totally been on my mind. I miss him so much, but I’ve been admiring him as watch Nate struggle each day. It makes me think about Dad and his adventures on the Colorado Trail. going insane! Ha! No. I don’t know…

    The Weekly [9.27-10.3.2020]

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Wednesday was my 45th birthday! WOW! Numbers usually don’t really bother me, but man that sounds old. I had a great birthday. Taking the day off was great. I got a chocolate candy bar (thanks, Alex!) I also go an Echo Dot, a lap desk so my hot laptop doesn’t sit straight on my legs when I’m working in the living room, an Auburn scarf, an Auburn gnome (for my garden). Caitlyn got me the cutest sponge holder for the kitchen. Drew and Buster came over to visit. With my pick-up order from Walmart they…

    Acid Reflux?

I mentioned in a couple posts recently about having an Endoscopy done. I never really went into all the details, so I’m going to do that here. Maybe 10 years ago (maybe longer), I started having acid reflux. My dr. prescribed something for it, but said I shouldn’t stay on but a couple months because its not good to be on that type of med for that long. So I did as he said. I honestly don’t remember if it helped. Over the last 5 years maybe, I have had it so bad that when I swallow food it feels…

    Memories of the Month {9.2020}

This month I was happy about: Things feeling a little more normal with college football starting and activities like soccer and scouts ramping back up for fall. Also glad we’ve been blessed with some cooler days. This month I was sad about: Not sad about much or that I can remember, which is good! Here’s my rating system for entertainment: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must read/see! ♥ = Really good! Highly recommend. ✓ ✓ = Good, not great ✓ = Not much to talk about X = Awful. Total waste of time Movies I watched were: The Lost…

    What’s Up Wednesday ~ September 2020

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating I feel like this is almost the same answer as last month, but its true. I think I burnt myself out all these months being home and preparing/cooking lunch and dinner. I can’t seem to get back to meal planning and when I have a half done meal plan I don’t stick with it. However, I have managed to make some yummy food, but didn’t write down how I did it. I made a chili soup, kind of just a more soupy version of chili…

    September Monthly Musings-Fall & Halloween

Today I’m sharing Monthly Musings for September. My favorite Fall tradition? My favorite things about fall is decorating as well as all the fall candles. And of course cheering on our Auburn Tigers. My favorite Halloween tradition? I am just not a big fan of Halloween itself. My kids always enjoyed dressing up and really enjoyed giving out candy more than trick or treating itself. I was a Pinterest mom before there was Pinterest! LOL! What will Halloween look like for this year for you and your family? If trick or treating is allowed, I’m sure Alex will put a…

    The Weekly [9.13-19.2020]

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Last Sunday Rob, Kayleigh, and I rode out to where our Boy Scout troop will start meeting. With COVID our troop has had very little activity. We could have met at a public park, but we have seen some much COVID shaming and strangers posting pictures of kids not wearing masks. We didn’t want to have to deal with any thing like that, so we are lucky to find a private outdoor area where we don’t have to worry about being judged. Anyway, this was the sunset view we saw as we left that night.…

    The Weekly [9.6-12.2020]

My brain…is just. I dunno. I thought I posted this, but apparently didn’t! Here’s my weekly post from last week. iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Saturday Drew came over and hung out with us and watch baseball and football with Rob. Caitlyn ended up coming over for dinner and Rob made his Chicken & Sausage Bowties. I also pulled out the wine we got on our day trip to St. Augustine because I promised Drew we’d not drink it without him. I finally got a bag of soil so I could start lettuce and spinach seeds like this. Growing Salad…

    Graduation Party with the Fam

I’m continuing on with posts about Drew’s graduation weekend. This should be the final post from that fun weekend. Saturday we were up bright and early to get to Jordan-Hare. When we were done there we went home to change clothes and load up the cars to head out to Beauregard, where my in-laws hosted the family party for Drew. Friday night the water slide was delivered. Rob’s mom and step dad as well as his sister and our nieces did a great job of setting up and decorating for the party. Drew and I went to get the chicken…

    The Weekly [8.31-9.5.2020]

Another week down. This last week the weather teased us a bit with a couple mornings/evenings that weren’t so humid and we felt a tinge of coolness in the air. I cannot wait for real fall weather! iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Rob and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary, by going out to our favorite steak restaurant in town, Big Mike’s. I love this sour beer. Drew is working for Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM) as a communications intern. He’s also helping with construction jobs when they don’t have enough volunteers. He gets to work along side another Drew, who…

Growing Salad Greens in a Bag of Soil

Today I’m sharing with you a simple way to grow your own salad greens in a bag of soil. Anyone can do this. All you need is seeds of advanced plants, a clear Rubbermaid (like) container), and a bag of soil that fits on top of the container. For this method you just spread seeds thickly and when they get to be a couple inches long you can do a cut and continue to let grow. You just cut a few leaves off each plant and they will continue to produce. This is actually the 2nd bag I planted. You…

    Currently – September 2020

September is one of my favorite months. Beginning of fall, back to school (back in the day when I was a student), cooler weather (hopefully), college football (hopefully), and my birthday month! It’s time for another currently post, so here we go! I am really /appreciating/ being able to work from home most weeks. It has been really stressful, trying to get all my new student workers trained and up to speed and these last couple weeks dealing with 34% of my student work force being exposed to COVID. 25% of our staff being exposed to students who were exposed.…

    Auburn University Graduation Festivities

I wasn’t sure what call this post, because it wasn’t technically a commencement for Drew. However, its as a close as we’re gonna get to a ceremony. He got all dressed up (for pics mainly) and wore his cap and gown. We got to go into the stadium and he got his name up on the big screen in Jordan Hare stadium, which does not happen during a normal commencement. Watch as he soaks it all in and gets to the center where they call his name. No one to greet him or give him a folder with the Auburn…
