Last week we started the week off with Alex’s 18th birthday. He wanted to go to Mikata, which is a Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse. Drew joined us of course. Drew’s girlfriend Caitlyn was on a work trip in Virginia. Anyway, we all enjoyed steak, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and veggies. So good. Then, we went home for cake, ice cream, and presents. I know Alex isn’t looking at the camera here. He’s actually looking at Drew for some reason, but I love his smile and the way Kayleigh’s tongue is out. One of the gifts we got for him…

2 weeks ago started out with a trip to the orthopedic for my shoulder. It hurts kind of all the time now, but especially when I lift my arm out. I ended up getting a steroid injection and am now doing a few appointments of physical therapy and my favorite place. It has just been one thing another the last few months with me. I also finally got my tomato, pepper, and herb seeds started inside. I got my haircut. Here it is straightened. One night we were in Rob’s home office and he was rearranging some things to make…

So excited to have a couple trips planned this month and next! picturing myself in a tropical place with a fruity drink enjoying being away from all the hustle and bustle of life! playing Wordle. I have resisted playing this game until recently when Rob talked me through some tips and now I play it everyday. I don’t share my results on social media though. wishing for peace on Earth in all areas of conflict.…

Today I decided to link up with Tanya at The Other Side of the Road. This is my purchases from Amazon for January and February. Clothes I have a couple shirts with long spaces between buttons and if you’re not sitting perfectly straight it can gap. Another one that when I lift my arm up you can see too much skin, so I got these to wear underneath so I don’t have to worry about showing skin. haha! Camisole Rob needed some new jeans. Since we don’t have a JCPenney anymore (which is where we always got his jeans), I…

LIFE Happenings February has FLOWN by, especially because January was like an entire year. You can read my weekly summaries here: Week 5 & 6 Week 7 Loving Decided to try a different cup. I’ve been using several Auburn Tervis cups that I love, but they don’t keep ice for long. I also want to use a straw since I drink unsweet tea that is making my teeth less white. I got this Ello Beacon Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Tumbler. I ordered Senneny Set of 6 Straws straws separately and really like them as well. Happy Happy to be finished…

Another year flying by and here we are talking about the 7th week of this year already. Is it me or is time flying by faster the older I get? Scary! Last week started off with Valentine’s Day. Rob and I aren’t big into that holiday. We usually go out to eat around that day (not on that day because its crowded, restaurants have ‘special’ more expensive menus, etc). Valentine’s Day this year, we ended up going to a Women’s basketball game and then we ate at Yummi Crab, which was delicious. We got a pound of shrimp (which comes…

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day! Rob and I went to the AU women’s basketball game and then to a new-ish restaurant that we’ve been wanting to try called Yummy Crab. I was so excited that I dove into it before taking a picture. As I reading through my Feedly feed today, I saw a fun post by Natasha and I thought I’d do it too. First Date: January 1996 I flew in to Atlanta and we he took me up to Helen, Ga where it was snowing and just absolutely dreamy. You can read more about how we…

Here’s what’s been happening in life for Jan. 31st-Feb. 13, 2022. Not much too exciting! Just trucking along… This is one of Alex’s new cubes that he put into a cool design. Caitlyn (Drew’s girlfriend) started her career today as an Academic Advisor just across campus from me. So proud of her. I’m supposed to have a endoscopy and esophagus stretching every year, but I have been pushing it off trying to do it less often. Especially since I haven’t had too much issue since the first time I had it done back in Fall 2020. It’s such a process…

LIFE Happenings Hiking Read more in my weekly posts: Week 1 & 2 Week 3 Loving This season of The Amazing Race. Happy that Alex is back to enjoying his Rubix cubes and such again. This is the new one he got with some Christmas money. Excited Auburn’s Men Basketball team ranked #1. Disappointments Upsetting that the Erasure concert I got tickets to for Christmas was completely cancelled due to some band member family issues. Dreading I hate making decisions. It stresses me out and there was a lot of that and still a lot more of that to come.…

loving this Lantana Avocado Hummus, which I get at Publix. It’s a bit spicy and so so good! making plans for a trip to St. Louis in April with Rob as he will be attending a conference there. taking hmm…this one’s hard. I’ve been taking forever to write my “Watching and Listening” post for Jan. I decided to separate the entertainment part out of my Monthly Digest that I do at the end of every month. Hope to get both of those posts ups soon! EDIT –> Watching & Listening Jan. 2022 wanting to feel better. I try really hard…

Here’s a few pics from this last week…January 24-30, 2022 One day this week, I got to work early and snapped this shot as I walked in. I got a text from Drew saying he wanted a poster of the mock up Sports Illustrated cover that has been circulating on social media since we went #1. We have plotters at work so here it is printing. On Tuesday, we celebrated Drew’s birthday, since Rob was still supposed to quarantine on his birthday. Got to have lunch with one of my former students since he’s moved back to Auburn. Love when…

January has been the longest ever!! Ugh! This last week (January 17-23, 2022) was aggravating. It started off great. Alex and Rob got back on Monday from the ski trip in Gatlinburg. We knew going in this was a risky trip and many folks would come back and end up sick. On Tuesday we got report of a few of the boys testing positive for COVID. On Wednesday, Rob was feeling like he had a cold. We had a funeral to go that day. We kept our distance and wore our masks. It was outside so that made us feel…

This year already has had some ups and downs. This is a busy time of year for me with the beginning of the semester, and here I am trying to play catch up already. Here is Week 1 & 2 posts for January 3 – 16, 2022. Jan. 3rd was first day back for the new year and luckily we had a full week of intercession before it was time to train new students for the semester. Monday and Tuesday that week were great and then Tuesday evening my face started looking very red and itchy. Without going into the…

Playing a little catch up as the last couple weeks have been busy. Here’s my post talk about our lovely Christmas weekend. Christmas Eve’s weather was beautiful. After a couple errands, Rob and I sat outside for a bit that afternoon while Christmas Eve dinner cooked. Kayleigh enjoyed it too. Christmas Eve dinner included Ham, Hash Brown Casserole, Green Beans, King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls , and salad with Romaine Lettuce, Slice apples, pecans, and raspberry vinaigrette. From there it was off to the Christmas Eve service, which is always so special. Rob was upstairs in the balcony doing media. Alex…

Playing catch up from the last three weeks of the 2021 (December 13, 2021-January 2, 2022) Rob and I went to the Men’s Basketball game. Fun game! Friday the 17th we went with Rob’s sister and her family and some of their friends to a Christmas walk in the Woods at Kreher Preserve & Nature Center Here’s my niece afterwards. Sunday the 19th, we went and saw Voctave in concert at our church. If you ever have the opportunity see them, I highly recommend it! They’ve performed at our church 3 times and we’ve been seen them all three times!…

Happy New Year everyone! I forgot to tell ya’ll that in my 1st post of this year. So here we are in 2022. Can’t believe it! anticipating I’m really trying not to anticipate. Anticipation often causes me stress and anxiety and worry that I don’t need. organizing my thoughts and my goals for the year. reading I started the A Chapter a Day (Reading the Bible in three years plan) on the Bible app. I also follow an Auburn author on Instagram, Betsy Lowery. She’s also on FB. Anyway, she just published a new book called Love Ever Green, which…

So I did this post back in 2011 and I also did it last year! I love writing posts like this at the end of each year. It gives me the opportunity to go through and think about the last year. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’ 1. Me! A work selfie 2. I Love You This is a picture from Easter with the peeps that I love so much. 3. Still Laughing… Kayleigh got a barcode on her back which was kind of funny.…

Back in November, Rob and I were bouncing ideas around about what to do with our 2 weeks off at Christmas. A trip to Texas or Baton Rouge to see family? A trip to the beach or the mountains? A cruise? Me: “a cruise? yes please!” After some research we found the one we wanted to book. We bounced the idea around with our family and we read about the fact we’d have to sometimes wear masks inside. Ok, yeah. We can handle that. Our rule of thumb is if we can get a cruise for less than $100/day per…

LIFE Happenings its been a crazy month! Week 48 & 49 [2021] Loving time off work. Happy for this time of year to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Excited about leaving for the cruise on Christmas Day. Disappointments cancelling our cruise. Dreading getting back to real life after the holidays. Reminiscing about our Christmas Cruise 2016. Social had a ‘normal’ Christmas minus Rob’s sister and her family due to the C-word. Work Memories hardly any applications for student worker positions for Spring semester, which is bad since I have 170 hours to get covered. Will have to do another round…

Man, I can’t believe we’ve only got a few more weeks in the year! Here’s the run down for Nov. 29-Dec. 12, 2021. Still finding tomatoes in the garden! Alex has been enjoying doing puzzles in front of the tv. We went to the tree farm and it started pouring down when we got there. We waited it out and ended up getting a tree! Our tradition is to go eat Chinese afterwards. On top of Christmas decorating, shopping, baking, and all that go with this season, we’re preparing for our cruise.
