Man, I can’t believe we’ve only got a few more weeks in the year! Here’s the run down for Nov. 29-Dec. 12, 2021. Still finding tomatoes in the garden! Alex has been enjoying doing puzzles in front of the tv. We went to the tree farm and it started pouring down when we got there. We waited it out and ended up getting a tree! Our tradition is to go eat Chinese afterwards. On top of Christmas decorating, shopping, baking, and all that go with this season, we’re preparing for our cruise.

The week before Thanksgiving wasn’t too crazy. Look at this adorable Gnome I got from Walmart dot com by accident. Put it in my cart on the Walmart app and when I went to put my pickup order in I accidentally pressed buy from both carts or something. I realized it a few minutes after getting the confirmation email. A snapchat from Caitlyn of her and Drew at the AU Men’s Basket ball game. Buster and Kayleigh playing How cute is Buster?!?! Last Monday Rob and I were going to meet for lunch. I had a few minutes to spare…

This last week I was happy to finally finish up this wall in our breakfast area that’s attached to the kitchen. If you remember, back in January we got this new sideboard table and when we moved the old microwave stand we discovered lots of wall issues! Here is how it’s looked since then. Look at that nasty crack. We didn’t know that the back of the drawer looked like that until we decided to change it. And hoo boy, we’re glad that we did. Till Labor Day Weekend when my FIL came over to help with several house projects…

Happy November! Just 2 full weeks until Thanksgiving week! Do you have your turkey yet? The Braves won the World Series! So exciting! We had really hoped they’d win Sunday night when they were still home, but they ended up losing that game and then having to fly back to Houston. One day I was backing out about to head to work and noticed Alex had a flat tire. Katniss kept Alex’s bed warm one evening when he was hanging out with a friend. Thursday Rob and I went out with some coworkers of his at Amsterdam. I got the…

How is October over already!?!?! I know many folks will be pulling out their Christmas decor soon. We don’t do that, but I will switch out all the Halloween themed decor for just fall decor. Here’s what happened for Week 43 (October 25-31, 2021)! On Tuesday, on my way home I noticed the protestors downtown, but couldn’t get a shot until I had passed them. Here they are in my rear view mirror. They were protesting the Auburn University vaccine mandate. Thursday was my day to give myself a shot of Ozempic shot on my own. As you can see…

Another week down! Here’s Week #42 which covers Oct. 18-24th, 2021. This last week was interesting. My blood sugar has run a tad high for the last few years. This week my doc had me try Metformin, but it made me feel terrible so I couldn’t continue that anymore. Thursday, I went to the dr to try the once a week shot called Ozempic. The nurse was like, well you have to be able to test your blood, which I’ve never done before. He showed me how to put the FreeStyle Libre 2 System on and I downloaded the app…

Week 41! Can ya’ll believe its 9 weeks till Christmas? I’m not usually one that counts down, but I was just thinking about how far in the year we are already. Its crazy to think about. Here we got with Oct. 11-17th! My doc wanted me to try a new medicine for several health reasons, but the main one being slightly high blood sugar. So I started that on Monday and regretted it hours later. I felt awful! I ended up in bed all day Tuesday and I let Kayleigh get up there with me for a bit. I always…

Week 40, yall! Can’t believe we just finished off the 1st full week of October (Oct. 4-12, 2021). How’s everyone enjoying Fall so far? We’re back to doing Weekly family Game Night. Sequence is one of our favorites. Katniss and Kayleigh have been hanging out like this more lately. They’ve always gotten along, but this is sweet. My birthday present from Rob was tickets the Ziggy Marley concert. I love Reggae. The concert was a tribute to Ziggy’s dad, Bob Marley. So good!! Rob had a conference that started Friday, so he left early Friday morning. Alex and I are…

Here’s my weekly wrap up for #39 September 27 – October 3, 2021. Sitting at the doc’s office waiting to get my blood drawn. Thinking of Dad that day as it would have been his 67th birthday. Caitlyn’s mom was in town, so we did lunch along with Caitlyn and Drew the day before my birthday. We went to Tacorita’s downtown. Pretty yummy! The next day Rob and I went to Acre for lunch. This cake was free since it was my birthday. On my birthday, the fam along with Caitlyn, of course, and her mom went to Acapulco’s for…

Last week was #38; September 20-26, 2021! Here’s some highlights… I love cooler temps in the mornings. Look at this really cool pumpkin and acorn squash. Kind of a funny story about the pumpkin. I order nearly all my groceries from Walmart pickup. Last year I had ordered an assortment bag of pumpkins and gourds. A couple weeks ago, I thought I had ordered the same thing. However, when I opened the back of my car to get my groceries and bring them in, I see this very interesting pumpkin and I was like, well, ok! *laughing* Tuesday we went…

Here’s another wrap up from September 13-19, 2021. I know this blog has become very stale with just boring updates of my life. However, that’s all I can muster up right now. Thank you to those of you who continue to stick with me. I mentioned last week that life has been pretty hard lately. I’ve had several nights that looked like this… I am thankful for friends who call and text me and pray for me and my family. Thanks to all of you who have been praying. We have really felt the prayers. With all that’s been going…

Week 36 September 6-12, 2021 Hey yall! Last week was rough and its continuing on into this week. Unfortunately, I can’t go into details. I would covet your prayers for my family during this time. All this goes back to May when we had a family emergency and last week ended up having another emergency of sorts. My brain is full. Running thoughts. Uneasy stomach. Fear of the unknown. Worry. We are all consumed by what’s going on in the family. However, for my own sanity I have to take breaks from it and distract myself with TV or doing…

Here we are for another week review post. Week 35 covers August 30-September 5, 2021. On August 30th, Rob and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. We went out to lunch at Amsterdam. The next day we ended up going out to eat for dinner and called that our anniversary dinner. We ate at Bow & Arrow. So yummy! I got a couple new house plants that are kind of different. Auburn University street signs downtown Got my Bath & Body Work order! Yellow Pear Tomatoes in the in-ground garden. Love her frog legs!

This post is a quick highlights for Week 34 (August 23-29, 2021), which was my week two of COVID. Even though I spent probably about half of everyday in bed, I still tried to get up and sit up in the living room and go outside to check on the garden. There have been so many spiders and their monstrous webs. They seem to find every walk way or pass through. These are some of the tomato plants that are planted in the in-ground overflow garden area. Look at my baby! These are his senior picture proofs.

So this is how Week 33 (August 16-22, 2021) got started…a parking ticket while at work! Lovely! Let me back up and just say this last week was…Wow so many ways to describe this last week. The weekend going into last week, I wasn’t feeling well and with the week being super important, I had no time to have this sinus infection. I had a scratchy throat, congestion, headache (face felt swollen like when you have a sinus infection), terrible body aches. Sunday night I found a bottle of antibiotics that I never took, so I decided that I would…

Today’s post is showing a few quick highlights from August 9-15, 2021. This week was intercession at work, which means we’re in between semesters. Here is my work family minus our newest staff member, Cedric. Alex started his senior year! Rob and I went to eat at the new Whataburger in Opelika. It was so good! This Texas girl was so happy. It was a very full week of preparing for the new semester for me at work. Friday was my big day of training. Although only 9 of my 14 new hires were able to come due to Rush…

Today I’m talking about Week 31 and boy what a week it was! August 2nd-8th, 2021. Still can’t believe its August already! This week most of what I’m sharing is about Drew’s girlfriend, Caitlyn. Tuesday – August 3rd Tuesday morning, I got up and met Caitlyn so we could take her grad pics. We got out there I pulled out my big camera and started to take a shot. “no SD card” popped up on the screen! AHGHGH! I hardly ever take my SD card out, but I did recently help Rob figure something out with another SD card and…

Week 30 was July 26, 2021 through August 1, 2021. Happy August everyone! Wednesday – July 28th Caitlyn finished off her last day at the library working as Graduate Assistant. What a blessing to get to work and have your grad school paid for as well as have a stipend to pay bills with. Thursday – July 29th We have been enjoying the new Chick-fil-a. Trying to go as much as possible before the craziness that happens when all the college students move back into town. Friday – July 30th Friday, Drew called the U-Haul place to make sure everything…

I had discontinued doing these Weekly update posts because since I was doing the Sentence-A-Day posts at the end of month, I felt like it was kind of repetitive. However, I have a hard time keeping up with the sentences and just felt that wasn’t the best way to share what goes on. I’m going to be going through an catching up with my weekly posts, because I like to be able to refer back to them. So today I’m starting with last week’s post which was for July 19-25, 2021. Monday – July 19th Drew actually started his job…

Every week that flies by I just can’t believe how fast time seems to go by. I saw this quote recently and just loved it. It was a bit of comfort for those time when I feel like time is just slipping though my fingers so quickly. Today I’m sharing life’s happenings for Week 28, which is July 12-18, 2021 Monday – July 12th This bar area in the kitchen is such a clutter magnet. Tuesday – July 13th Rob and I ate lunch downtown. While I walking back to work this guy was eating lunch as I came around…
