This year the Friday before Valentine’s Day we had a lovely dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Rob’s company paid for our dinner so we enjoyed a full 3 course meal. Here’s what we had: Appetizer: Wild West Shrimp Main Entres: White Cheddar & Bacon Stuffed Filet (me) Mashed Potatoes Mixed Green Salad Bacon Wrapped Filet (Rob) Seasoned French Fries Steakhouse Mac & Cheese Dessert: LongHorn Dessert Sampler It was an amazing dinner and we practically rolled out of there we were so full! Had leftovers to boot. So on Valentine’s Day, I surprised him with gift hampers tasmania. I got a…

This week was been a whirlwind! One of our nieces, ‘Toady,’ stayed with us this week. Her parents (Rob’s sister and her hubby) are preparing to make a big move across country, so we agreed to keep Toady, who’s the oldest of three children. Every morning we would get up and I drove her about 45 miles to her Pre-K class. I hung out at their apartment for the 3 hours that she was there and then I’d pick her up and we drove back to Auburn. It’s been fun to be able to get to know her better. She’s…

5. Interesting Hanger: After folding clothes, I pulled out some hangers and noticed this one. Made me laugh. 6. Pine Hills: Monday, I visited a very old cemetery here in Auburn. There are many well known names in the Auburn community buried there. I got some awesome pics that I’ll be using in a post when I get done editing, researching, and writing! 🙂 7. 2016 Graduation Requirements: When Drew brought this home yesterday, I nearly broke down in tears! I can’t admit to myself that next year he will be considered a high school student. I don’t for sure…

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’ve noticed many of my blogger friends have been linking up with From Mrs. to Mama. I decided to do it as well. Picture from each year we’ve been together. 🙂

29. Magnolia Cherry Blossom Tree: I love these trees. I really want some in my yard. 30. Drive by shooting: Photography that is. 🙂 With some editing in Picnik. 31. RBD Auditorium: I’ve always thought this room would make for some really cool pics. I finally got around to taking some pics of it, because soon these seats will be ripped out and this will become a computer lab. I had a class in this room a few weeks ago and these seats are dreadfully uncomfortable. See more pics of the auditorium here. 1. Rain: It seems to rain here…

Strike a Pose This is one of my awesome student workers, Marci. She was sporting her BAZINGA shirt (Big Bang Theory) the other day and I just couldn’t resist having her strike a pose. Thanks, Marci! So cute! Footwear These are not my “go to” shoes, but I like them because I usually always wear black shoes. I get excited when I put together an outfit that I can wear these. Pretty comfortable too. Hobby Reading is a hobby I try to embrace. I’ve a pretty slow reader most of the time and my comprehension has never been great. As…

WARNING: Bathroom Story So my first silly story is about something that just happened to me here at work. This lady comes up to the Circulation desk and talks to my student worker. I noticed that she had a look of disgust as she was talking. She walks off and my student worker tells me that one of the women’s bathroom is disgusting and that she can’t even use 4 of the stalls. Luckily that bathroom has 8 stalls. I get up to go see what she’s talking about. I’m like “wow, wonder what I’ll find in here.” I’m visualizing…

This month I was happy about: getting a “Leading Performance (exceeds expectations)” on my 1st end of the year evaluation at my job. This month I was sad about: Rob being sick. Something I accomplished this month was: just surviving! I had 2.5 days of Rob in the hospital and 3.5 days of Rob being gone working an Emmaus Walk. Now for many of you, you’re thinking woop-de-do, but my work schedule and the kids’ school schedule don’t jive at all. I’m so thankful for my friends who helped me out during those days. Something new I did was: photograph…

As I said on my post for the Scavenger Hunt, I told you that I’m struggling. What I didn’t mention was that in this new year, I can’t get into groove for anything! I absolutely despise that. So this week you can see I didn’t get many pictures. And this week I’m not doing any better so far. 🙁 Maybe I just need to not worry with this project this year… 22. Lego House: This is the 2nd Lego House that Alex has made. This set makes 3 different houses. Pretty cool. 23. Shining Through: Trying to be positive 24.…

I am in such a rut right now photography-wise. Blah! Part of it is I’m rushing right here at the deadline to get pics done. I want to be creative, but these last few weeks have been too dang hectic. This week isn’t lookin’ much better. Smile This weekend I pulled out a box of some of my old miniature toys. I think this is a miniature from Strawberry Shortcake? I like her smile. I tried to get a pic of one of my boys smiling over the weekend, but they weren’t too cooperative with what I was trying to…

“Maybe now that I’m 14, I don’t get tired. -Alex (He says this after saying he’s got so much energy and can’t believe he’s not tired after staying up so late). If only this was true; that the older we get the more energy we have! Why doesn’t it work this way?

I am in shock that 14 years ago today was one of the biggest days of my life. They day I gave birth to my 1st child. The day that would forever change me in so many good ways. The day I would realize how much love I could have for 1 individual. I love being able to celebrate birthdays with the boys, but this year I get a little sick to my stomach realizing how with each year he earns more responsibilities. Mainly, next year at this time he will be able to get a driving permit. Did I…

15. Twisted: Love the look of this twisted tree trunk 16. Hospital: I mentioned last week that Rob was in the hospital. 17. Day 2 in the Hospital: I showed up Tuesday thinking Rob would go home, but found out that with the fever he was running the night before he’d be there until Wednesday. 🙁 18. Bugs: I was outside with my camera. I can usually find something new and different in my backyard. I found this branch that is covered in some type of bug. I get itchy every time I look at it! Here you see this…

Sunset I’m so sad I was not able to capture a real sunset this past week. With our sunset occurring about 4:45, it makes it a bit of a challenge for me to take a pic of it. So I improvised by taking a picture from my front door and using the “Magic Sunset Action” from Coffee Shop Blog. Black & White Day in the Life Since I work the 2nd shift, the part of the day that I’m home is spent hanging out with Daisy. Last week, I went outside to see if I could capture her going after…

Ok, so Sunday evening (Jan.15) Rob and the kids and I watched National Treasure. Then, after putting the kids to bed Rob and I started watching P.S. I Love You. Not to long into the movie, Rob started complaining of gas pain, so I gave him some medicine. A little later he said he was feeling nauseous. He was ok for a while. I ended up finishing up the movie without him. After I retired to bed, Rob raced to the toilet just in time before vomiting. This continued every 30 minutes for awhile. It got worse from there, but…

I’m much later posting this than I’d hope. Life happens! Today (well, last night) life included my husband getting sick to the point of dehydration and being admitted to our local hospital. I’m sitting the room with him now as he sleeps and has fluids pumped into his arm. I’m exhausted…going on about 4 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours. 🙁 8. Rain: It seems like we’ve had constant rain for the last few weeks. 9. Daisy: Here’s Daisy Girl standing at my bedroom door waiting to come in. 10. 1 Chronicles 4:10: My Grandmother gave me this.…

Stacked Up Stacks of jax While going through stuff this week I found some Jax and thought it would fun to try and stack them. Winter Wonderland Here in Alabama, our winter has hardly been winter. We finally, just this week, got temps below 50. I went outside to try and find something to symbolize winter. I found these dead looking buds and with the white sky in the background thought it turned out ‘cold looking’. 🙂 Sweet My hubby’s Gum Drops left over from Christmas. I’m not a fan especially because the green ones taste like toothpaste. Hole{s} Something…

This weeks theme was fresh start. A few of my entries this week correlate with the theme in one way or another. 1. New Desk Calendar: Before Christmas Target had a bunch of cute calendars in their $1 section. There’s just something about a fresh, clean, unwrinkled calendar that makes me feel good. 2. 2012 Chick-Fil-A Cow: Rob and Drew went to the Chick-Fil-A (Peach Bowl) and got all sorts of goodies. This CFA Cow was an exclusive that only people that went to the bowl game received. 3. New Tug-o-War Toy: Here Daisy’s playing tug-o-war with Drew. As you…

One Color Laundry I was actually almost done with laundry when I took this picture so, it was not even a full basket. Usually the bed is covered with clean clothes waiting to be folded. Empty Rob got this money clip when he graduated from Auburn. You can tell by looking it that it’s never been used, which means that it remains empty. One Dozen Rob bought these at Walgreens during an after Christmas sale. Soft Daisy’s coat is so soft, especially after it’s been brushed. Here she is protecting her bone as she sleeps. So sweet!
