15. Twisted: Love the look of this twisted tree trunk 16. Hospital: I mentioned last week that Rob was in the hospital. 17. Day 2 in the Hospital: I showed up Tuesday thinking Rob would go home, but found out that with the fever he was running the night before he’d be there until Wednesday. π 18. Bugs: I was outside with my camera. I can usually find something new and different in my backyard. I found this branch that is covered in some type of bug. I get itchy every time I look at it! Here you see this…

Sunset I’m so sad I was not able to capture a real sunset this past week. With our sunset occurring about 4:45, it makes it a bit of a challenge for me to take a pic of it. So I improvised by taking a picture from my front door and using the “Magic Sunset Action” from Coffee Shop Blog. Black & White Day in the Life Since I work the 2nd shift, the part of the day that I’m home is spent hanging out with Daisy. Last week, I went outside to see if I could capture her going after…

Ok, so Sunday evening (Jan.15) Rob and the kids and I watched National Treasure. Then, after putting the kids to bed Rob and I started watching P.S. I Love You. Not to long into the movie, Rob started complaining of gas pain, so I gave him some medicine. A little later he said he was feeling nauseous. He was ok for a while. I ended up finishing up the movie without him. After I retired to bed, Rob raced to the toilet just in time before vomiting. This continued every 30 minutes for awhile. It got worse from there, but…

I’m much later posting this than I’d hope. Life happens! Today (well, last night) life included my husband getting sick to the point of dehydration and being admitted to our local hospital. I’m sitting the room with him now as he sleeps and has fluids pumped into his arm. I’m exhausted…going on about 4 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours. π 8. Rain: It seems like we’ve had constant rain for the last few weeks. 9. Daisy: Here’s Daisy Girl standing at my bedroom door waiting to come in. 10. 1 Chronicles 4:10: My Grandmother gave me this.…

Stacked Up Stacks of jax While going through stuff this week I found some Jax and thought it would fun to try and stack them. Winter Wonderland Here in Alabama, our winter has hardly been winter. We finally, just this week, got temps below 50. I went outside to try and find something to symbolize winter. I found these dead looking buds and with the white sky in the background thought it turned out ‘cold looking’. π Sweet My hubby’s Gum Drops left over from Christmas. I’m not a fan especially because the green ones taste like toothpaste. Hole{s} Something…

This weeks theme was fresh start. A few of my entries this week correlate with the theme in one way or another. 1. New Desk Calendar: Before Christmas Target had a bunch of cute calendars in their $1 section. There’s just something about a fresh, clean, unwrinkled calendar that makes me feel good. 2. 2012 Chick-Fil-A Cow: Rob and Drew went to the Chick-Fil-A (Peach Bowl) and got all sorts of goodies. This CFA Cow was an exclusive that only people that went to the bowl game received. 3. New Tug-o-War Toy: Here Daisy’s playing tug-o-war with Drew. As you…

One Color Laundry I was actually almost done with laundry when I took this picture so, it was not even a full basket. Usually the bed is covered with clean clothes waiting to be folded. Empty Rob got this money clip when he graduated from Auburn. You can tell by looking it that it’s never been used, which means that it remains empty. One Dozen Rob bought these at Walgreens during an after Christmas sale. Soft Daisy’s coat is so soft, especially after it’s been brushed. Here she is protecting her bone as she sleeps. So sweet!

1. Me! In 2011, I was proud to finally get a job, that I love. Going from a temp employee to part of the full time staff is great. You already know everyone. You know how to do the job. It only gets better from here! 2. I Love You I love my boys and Daisy. I also love the background in this photo: Auburn, Toomer’s Oaks, and the tradition being illustrated here. 3. Still Laughing… I know I’ve got some funny pics, but for some reason, I can’t seem to remember what they are. So I chose this one…

I recently saw a really cool blog post called “Year in Review” and I loved the way she did it, so I’m totally copying her. (Blog now removed) π (This post took an eternity to write/gather. Hopefully everything makes sense and is in the right place π my favorite moments of 2011: ================ [January] Started off the year with a new addition, Daisy and a National Championship. AWESOME! National Championship Celebration Drew became a Teenager My Strawberry Shortcake-eating Drew Rob went on his Walk to Emmaus. ================ [February] Life starts getting quite busy again with all the boys’ activities back…

What did you do in 2011 that youβd never done before? Photographed a wedding Did you keep your new yearsβ resolutions and will you make more for next year? I don’t think I really had any besides the same ones I always want to do. Did anyone close to you give birth? Uhhhhhhh….I don’t think so. (hope I didn’t forget anyone.) Did anyone close to you die? Yes, my Grandmother

With the new year quickly approaching, I have so many blog entries to get wrapped up from this year. I am making headway on them. π I also have some New Year’s post to get done. With all that I’ve also been thinking about the 365 {photography} project. I was unsuccessful in finishing it out this year. Although, each year I get farther and farther into the year, which is good. Maybe that’s the reason I can’t give up on it. I’m curious if y’all plan to do another year of 365, well actually 2012 will be 366?? I did…

Well, I’m not, but Rob and Drew are. Drew had been begging to go to the bowl game and after Rob and I discussed it we decided to let that be one of his gifts. It’s in Atlanta, so they can just go up for the day and come back. It’s a quality bowl game with lots of activities before the game. When Teenager opened it, he jumped in Rob’s arms. It totally made his Christmas! Here’s the tickets I displayed up on our Auburn Tree downstairs.

Christmas Day was quite enjoyable. Rob and I woke around 9 am and couldn’t believe the kids had let us sleep so long. We jumped out of bed and got breakfast in the oven and unloaded our stockings. We enjoyed our breakfast of sausage balls and apple fritters. Daisy was very excited about what Santa brought; a braided bone and some doggy ‘candy.’ After finishing up with breakfast and stockings we settled down in front of the Christmas tree to open presents. Santa brought the boys a balloon maker with the long balloons that can be made into balloon animals.…

Christmas Eve day was fairly busy. Not as busy at the 2 days before, but still a little busier than I would have preferred. But like this entire Christmas season, for some reason, for us everything has been so different. I won’t go into all the reasons why, but it’s just been bizarr-o. Oh I digress… Thursday Rob and the kids went to Newnan, because one of Rob’s Facebook friends was selling a 42″ plasma TV for super cheap. Although, we weren’t in need of a TV, it just wasn’t a deal we could pass up. So Christmas Eve, Rob…

I promised you some pics of the tree decorated. So here ya go. She’s a little on the short side and nice and wide. Yah, she fits riiiiight in. π She’s perfect for our front room that luckily is quite roomy. This is my new ornament that I got at our Sunday School class party. Every year we do an ornament dirty Santa. I don’t think I ever showed the one I got last year, so here it is. My Mom included 3 of my Granny’s Santa Coke Ornaments. Here’s 2 of them. I guess Granny doesn’t put up a…

I made these handmade gifts for my coworkers. They are super easy and super inexpensive. I think for a set of 4, it cost about $1.40. I had lots of fun choosing the paper for each person that reflected their personalities. They were quite a hit. *Remember to allow 30 days before using the coasters for HOT stuff. Materials: Mod Podge Foam paint brushes Paint scraper Scrapbook paper Ceramic tiles Polyurethane Felt or felt feet Directions: 1. Cut the paper to fit the tile. I used a scrapbook paper cutter. 2. Use a paintbrush to spread the Mod Podge on…

Cherry Cordial M&M’s are so amazing! I couldn’t believe how much they taste like a chocolate covered cherry without the juice of the cherry. If you like Chocolate covered cherries, you should try them and see what you think. Peanut Butter M&M’s are pretty much what you would expect. Chocolate M&M’s with a peanut butter filling. Yummy!

I usually don’t write about politics. I’m not really one to publicly voice my opinions about stuff like this, but I’m really the need to vent right now. I’m on facebook as is most of the world, and have “friends” of all sorts. Anyway, I won’t go into specifics about that as I shouldn’t go down that road. I just don’t get why people feel the need to have such absolute hatred for certain people in politics, especially ones that have never had any jurisdiction you and have in no direct way effected you. I totally understand that people are…

This weekend has been a whirl-wind of activity! Nothing like the holidays. π Here’s pics of us getting our Christmas tree. This year we found a new Christmas tree farm, that actually had a decent selection of trees that we like, Virginia Pines. For those of you who celebrate Christmas, what kind of trees do they grow/sell in your area? How ’bout this one? Reminded me of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Or maybe this one? Love the cool sign… We found the one we want. Now Drew starts to cut it down. Then, after Rob tried it for awhile,…
