I’m really behind with this post, but I didn’t just not want to post it. LIFE Happenings Week 44 Week 45 Week 46 & 47 Loving that we got the shelving done in our kitchen! Happy with the way Auburn played against Bama. What an epic game! We still didn’t win, but we played our hearts out. Excited that we’re in the holiday season. Although, it can be stressful and there are parts I could do without, I always look forward to time off. Reminiscing About previous Thanksgivings… This is from 2013 in Florida. The week before Thanksgiving wasn’t too crazy. Look at this adorable Gnome I got from Walmart dot com by accident. Put it in my cart on the Walmart app and when I went to put my pickup order in I accidentally pressed buy from both carts or something. I realized it a few minutes after getting the confirmation email. A snapchat from Caitlyn of her and Drew at the AU Men’s Basket ball game. Buster and Kayleigh playing How cute is Buster?!?! Last Monday Rob and I were going to meet for lunch. I had a few minutes to spare…

This last week I was happy to finally finish up this wall in our breakfast area that’s attached to the kitchen. If you remember, back in January we got this new sideboard table and when we moved the old microwave stand we discovered lots of wall issues! Here is how it’s looked since then. Look at that nasty crack. We didn’t know that the back of the drawer looked like that until we decided to change it. And hoo boy, we’re glad that we did. Till Labor Day Weekend when my FIL came over to help with several house projects…

Happy November! Just 2 full weeks until Thanksgiving week! Do you have your turkey yet? The Braves won the World Series! So exciting! We had really hoped they’d win Sunday night when they were still home, but they ended up losing that game and then having to fly back to Houston. One day I was backing out about to head to work and noticed Alex had a flat tire. Katniss kept Alex’s bed warm one evening when he was hanging out with a friend. Thursday Rob and I went out with some coworkers of his at Amsterdam. I got the…

How is October over already!?!?! I know many folks will be pulling out their Christmas decor soon. We don’t do that, but I will switch out all the Halloween themed decor for just fall decor. Here’s what happened for Week 43 (October 25-31, 2021)! On Tuesday, on my way home I noticed the protestors downtown, but couldn’t get a shot until I had passed them. Here they are in my rear view mirror. They were protesting the Auburn University vaccine mandate. Thursday was my day to give myself a shot of Ozempic shot on my own. As you can see…

Alex texted me on Thursday to tell me he needed to get a coat and shirt to wear to Homecoming. Wait, what? This was TWO days before the homecoming dance! Nothing like waiting to the last minute. So Friday we went out shopping and I was so worried with the supply chain issues and stores not being stocked very well, that we would have a hard time finding anything that fit. But thank goodness Belk came through and we got coat, shirt, tie, and pants. Shoe Department had the shoes he wanted and all is good! Saturday afternoon we headed…

Another week down! Here’s Week #42 which covers Oct. 18-24th, 2021. This last week was interesting. My blood sugar has run a tad high for the last few years. This week my doc had me try Metformin, but it made me feel terrible so I couldn’t continue that anymore. Thursday, I went to the dr to try the once a week shot called Ozempic. The nurse was like, well you have to be able to test your blood, which I’ve never done before. He showed me how to put the FreeStyle Libre 2 System on and I downloaded the app…

Week 41! Can ya’ll believe its 9 weeks till Christmas? I’m not usually one that counts down, but I was just thinking about how far in the year we are already. Its crazy to think about. Here we got with Oct. 11-17th! My doc wanted me to try a new medicine for several health reasons, but the main one being slightly high blood sugar. So I started that on Monday and regretted it hours later. I felt awful! I ended up in bed all day Tuesday and I let Kayleigh get up there with me for a bit. I always…

Sequence is one of our favorites. Katniss and Kayleigh have been hanging out like this more lately. They’ve always gotten along, but this is sweet. Here’s my weekly wrap up for #39 September 27 – October 3, 2021. Sitting at the doc’s office waiting to get my blood drawn. Thinking of Dad that day as it would have been his 67th birthday. Caitlyn’s mom was in town, so we did lunch along with Caitlyn and Drew the day before my birthday. We went to Tacorita’s downtown. Pretty yummy! The next day Rob and I went to Acre for lunch. This cake was free since it was my birthday. On my birthday, the fam along with Caitlyn, of course, and her mom went to Acapulco’s for…

Last week was #38; September 20-26, 2021! Here’s some highlights… I love cooler temps in the mornings. Look at this really cool pumpkin and acorn squash. Kind of a funny story about the pumpkin. I order nearly all my groceries from Walmart pickup. Last year I had ordered an assortment bag of pumpkins and gourds. A couple weeks ago, I thought I had ordered the same thing. However, when I opened the back of my car to get my groceries and bring them in, I see this very interesting pumpkin and I was like, well, ok! *laughing* Tuesday we went…

Here’s another wrap up from September 13-19, 2021. I know this blog has become very stale with just boring updates of my life. However, that’s all I can muster up right now. Thank you to those of you who continue to stick with me. I mentioned last week that life has been pretty hard lately. I’ve had several nights that looked like this… I am thankful for friends who call and text me and pray for me and my family. Thanks to all of you who have been praying. We have really felt the prayers. With all that’s been going…

Week 36 September 6-12, 2021 Hey yall! Last week was rough and its continuing on into this week. Unfortunately, I can’t go into details. I would covet your prayers for my family during this time. All this goes back to May when we had a family emergency and last week ended up having another emergency of sorts. My brain is full. Running thoughts. Uneasy stomach. Fear of the unknown. Worry. We are all consumed by what’s going on in the family. However, for my own sanity I have to take breaks from it and distract myself with TV or doing…

Happy September, yall! Here’s my Currently post for this month. beginning to look forward to Fall and football! I’m really hoping we have an early onset of cooler temperatures, which usually tease us a time or 2 in September or October. However, real cooler temps don’t show up till November here. ending I’m ready to end this stressful part of the semester. August is a busy time for me at work hiring and training. This year during this time I got COVID so that meant leaving my job to others, which I always hate doing. I am having to hire…

This post is a quick highlights for Week 34 (August 23-29, 2021), which was my week two of COVID. Even though I spent probably about half of everyday in bed, I still tried to get up and sit up in the living room and go outside to check on the garden. There have been so many spiders and their monstrous webs. They seem to find every walk way or pass through. These are some of the tomato plants that are planted in the in-ground overflow garden area. Look at my baby! These are his senior picture proofs.

LIFE Happenings Honestly right now all I can think about is this dang COVID that I have and I could probably make every answer to these COVID related. I don’t want that though. This month hasn’t been only about COVID, so I’ll write a post about that later. Loving Rob for taking care of me through all this. Happy that September is almost here and hopefully we might get some hints of cooler weather…probably not, but I’m always hopeful for it.
