    Week 22::2023

    Here’s last week’s Weekly highlights (May 29th-June 4th, 2023). If you missed Week 21, its here. Monday Alex went with his girlfriend and her church to New Orleans for a mission trip. I enjoyed following their trip through their BeReal posts. Eating lots of healthy peanut butter on Ezekial bread with banana. My go to meal lately especially since Rob is gone. Tuesday About every other week, I make a big batch of taco meat to use different ways. I have been craving enchiritos (burrito/enchilada), so I got these Carb Balance Flour Tortillas and made these. They were so good!…

    Omaha, Nebraska Trip::Part 5

    This is the last Omaha post! In this post, we woke up in Mount Vernon, IL and made our way home. About 25 miles south of Mount Vernon on I-57 in Benton, IL we passed this George Harrison Commemorative Mural, which I had read about on Atlas Obscura. I just snapped this from the highway, but you can pull off to get a picture in front of it. Our first stop was in Land Between the Lakes. which is located in Kentucky and Tennessee between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. This was designated a U.S. national recreation area in 1963…

    Omaha, Nebraska Trip::Part 4

    Continuing on with another Omaha post. Wednesday After the loss Tuesday night, we had to determine how long we were going to take to get home, what route we were going to take, what cities we wanted to be sure to go through, etc! Our plan for that day was to drive to Des Moines, IA, St. Louis, MO, and spend the night in Mt. Vernon, IL. We pulled off to check out an old Danish Windmill in Elkhorn, IA. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a windmill like this in person and for sure, not this close up. There’s…

    Omaha, Nebraska Trip::Part 3

    Monday Auburn had a 1 o’clock game, so we got up and headed downtown and walked to the team hotel for Tiger Walk. In downtown Omaha they have an area called Pioneer Courage Park full of beautiful sculptures. Here we are in our seats before the game started. Auburn beat Stanford, which was so exciting. I was so happy for Rob that he finally got to an Auburn win at the CWS and that they lived to play another game. After the game, I honestly don’t remember what we did after that…I’m thinking we went back and ate leftovers at…

    Omaha, Nebraska Trip::Part 1

    A few weeks ago on a Monday night when Auburn played Oregon State in the 3rd and final game of the series to determine who was going to the Men’s College World Series we didn’t have any plans to go to Omaha. However, Rob looked at me during that game and said, you know if we when we’re going to have to discuss going. After the win, Drew and Caitlyn came over and we started looking at hotels and thinking about if we could take off work that quickly. We’d have to leave by Friday afternoon to get there by…

    Sentence a Day – June 2021

    1 / Tuesday – Met Rob and Alex for lunch at Beyond the Wok. Neighborhood turkey – Not sure where this turkey lives or if he just hangs out in our neighborhood. He shows up every few weeks and just struts around. 2 / Wednesday – First time PT for Alex this morning. 3 / Thursday – This morning while heading into work, I noticed this squirrel had a huge piece of food. Looked like a piece of a bun. This picture doesn’t do this justice. I couldn’t get close enough. 4 / Friday – Alex got his 1st vaccine.…

    Memories of the Month {6.2021}

    This month I was happy about: good new from Drew, which I talk about later in the post! This month I was sad about: I have been sad about a family member that is going through a tough time, but things seem to be a bit better as of now. I decided to change my rating system to the simple stars rating that are pretty self explanatory. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Movies I watched were: 2 Hearts (Netflix) – ★ ★ ★ – really slow moving Safe Haven (Netflix) – rewatched ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ TV Shows I…

And if I’m being totally honest, I’m in a blogging rut. I honestly need a break, but when I take a break that makes me feel so behind and this is my memory book. Such a conundrum! 😀 celebrating Not wearing a mask as of June 1st! Hallelujah! collecting Ideas for our 4th of July trip to the North Georgia Mountains like we used to do. Here’s some posts: 2010 /…
