My Lil’ Container Garden – Summer 2020

I’m honestly not even sure where to start with this garden post, since I haven’t done a great job of documenting it here all along. I know I’ve mentioned it a lot the last few months. To start off I’d like to say that this garden would not have been a thing if it weren’t for Jess at Roots & Refuge Farm and her Youtube channel. I started watching her about a year and half ago, I think it was when another Youtuber/Blogger friend, Constance from Cosmopolitan Cornbread mentioned her. Jess and her hubby who she lovingly calls ‘Sweet Miah’…

    What’s Up Wednesday ~ July 2020

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating I made these Spicy Bacon Wrapped Pineapple Bites. What a nice yummy, easy treat to make! One of my go tos over this time of COVID has been the Frontera Fajitas. Super easy and good! What I’m Reminiscing About I’ve been thinking about when life was ‘normal.’ I am so over everything being up in the air and things getting canceled/postponed. What I’m Loving I am relishing the last few weeks with Andrew living under my roof. I’m enjoying any little bit of time we…

    The Weekly [7.19-25.2020]

What a day it’s been already! Up at the crack of dawn to take Drew’s Graduation pics. It started off at 70° and was 80° by the time we were done. Doesn’t sound that bad, but it was 60% humidity, so I was dripping sweat by the time were done. I’ll post some of those pics later. I started interviewing for my student work force in my department last week, and those are continuing on this week. The last few weeks at the end and the beginning of each semester is really busy for me with interviewing, hiring, training and…

St. Simons Island Trip – Part 1

Saturday Earlier this summer we were itching for a change of scenery and decided to take a week off and go on a vacation. With Drew starting classes right before the 4th of July, we determined that the week before that would be good. This ended up being Drew’s graduation trip. No, it’s not NYC, but it was better than nothing! We got up early Saturday morning and headed over to St. Simons Island, Georgia. We stopped in Dawson, GA at Mark’s Melon Patch (8580 Albany Highway Dawson, Georgia 39842) for some peaches. I enjoyed their Sunflowers and Zinnias so…

    The Weekly [7.12-18.2020]

PICS & GOINGS ON These got sent out this week! It is getting real and coming fast. I planted some Marigold seeds kind of late, but love that some of them are starting to bloom. Not sure what kind of bugs are camped out on them. So for those of you who’ve never gardened before or maybe have never heard that you can find bugs in the dark with a black light much easier, well it’s true. I only found this one very large worm; not sure what kind it is, and one tiny slug on another pepper plant. With…

    The Weekly [7.5-11.2020]

PICS & GOINGS ON Here’s Katniss hanging out on the deck stairs, which comes down from our bedroom. Here’s the house right before they started installing gutters that’s they extension cord is running in the yard. Here’s the after – Nasty old awning gone is probably the biggest different you can see. And Kayleigh is just the cutest and this is one evening before the bugs got so terribly bad that even the Citronella candles don’t help. Alex often fills this cup up with Goldfish or something and eats in the playroom. Well, apparently he left it on the couch,…

    Frontera Fajita Sauce

Today I wanted to share with you a new to me food product that is so good! I’m usually not a fan of ready made sauces like this, but decided to give it a try. My boys love fajitas, but I find it a chore to marinade meat ahead of time and fire up the grill. All this means we don’t ever have fajitas at home! And that’s why I decided to give Frontera Fajita Sauce a shot. We all love it! So easy and so delicious! Servings: 4-6 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Ingredients: 1 yellow…

    The Weekly [6.28-7.4.2020]

I haven’t done a “The Weekly” post since last year. I thought that maybe since we’re half way done through this year, I’d start doing these posts every week again. It’s a good way to quickly rundown things that are happening and share some pics. Not sure how that will affect my end of the month posts >>>> Memories of the Month & What’s Up Wednesday PICS In my Friday Favorites post last week I shared most of the pics that I would have shared here. Here’s 2 pics I didn’t share. 1:Here’s Katniss in the chair under our kitchen…

    Friday Favorites 7.3.2020

Linking up with Momfessionals & a Little Bit of Everything Blog I can’t believe I didn’t do a Friday Favorites posts at all during the month of June! I mean time just flies by so quickly. So here we are it’s July! I just got an email from the school system about Fall Learning Models. We have the option to keep kids home during the Fall and do online school with strict guidelines or they can return to school for the Fall and must wear a mask, yadda, yadda, yadda. I think he and I are both ready for him…

    What’s Up Wednesday ~ June 2020

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday a week late, because last week I was on vacation. What We’re Eating This last month we learned how to cook Spare Ribs. The university has a meat lab, and ever since the Pandemic we’ve been ordering from them more often. After cooking ribs on Memorial Day weekend, I found more ribs and Publix for really cheap, so we got a few racks. They are so yummy. Next time we make them I need to take pics, so I can share the recipe. What I’m Reminiscing About Lots…
