What I’m Reminiscing About
I’ve been thinking about when life was ‘normal.’ I am so over everything being up in the air and things getting canceled/postponed.

What I’m Loving
I am relishing the last few weeks with Andrew living under my roof. I’m enjoying any little bit of time we get to hang out together. I’ve really loved seeing him take interest in the tomato plants that are his. He planted 5 ‘leftover’ tomato plants in the yard that I didn’t have room for in my container garden. I love that he gets excited about them producing and asking questions. When he moves out he wants to take a potted

What We’ve Been Up To
Well we have been busy planning parties for Drew’s graduation on August 8th. However, we found out a couple days ago there will be no graduation. Yes, less than 2 weeks before graduation, Auburn University decided to cancel it. I am so thankful that Rob was apprehensive about everything and told family in Texas not to buy plane tickets. They say they will have a graduation for the graduates from Spring and Summer, but at this point I’m getting where Drew has been. He’s over it! He’s ready to move on.

As for the parties, the Friday night drive by/physical distancing party is still on. The Saturday party for family is up in the air.

What I’m Dreading
I think I’m dreading the unknown. I hate the unknown and right now I feel like at the drop of a hat anything can change. When you’re a planner like I am that grates on your nerves and because of the recent rise in COVID things are being delayed or cancelled and it just sucks.

Every August/September, I take team and individual photos for a local soccer travel club and I got word yesterday that we can’t take the team photos. I can do the individuals, but honestly most people want the team picture more than the individual. They can take their own pics of their kid, but it’s harder to get a good team photo typically. So that’s an unknown right now. When or if? I was supposed to be doing that next week!

What I’m Working On
This last weekend Rob and I worked all weekend on an online order form for those pictures I just talked about. We wanted people to have the ability to order ahead of time for less contact.

Other than that, I’m working on a handmade Auburn garland to decorate the mantel with for Drew’s graduation and for all the family that was supposed to be here. I’ll probably finish it soon, but really no rush since people won’t be coming into the house.

What I’m Excited About
I excited for Drew as he will be moving out soon. I know he his nerve-racked trying to find a job, but I’ve been praying that God leads him down the right path.

What I’m Watching/Reading
I’ll post about that in my Memories of the Month post soon.

What I’m Wearing
I’m actually wearing make up today! Since I had Zoom interviews with students, I put makeup and a nicer (not a t-shirt) shirt.

What I’m Doing This Weekend
This weekend we will cookout some steaks on the grill, because I need to clear out stuff from the freezer. We might do some yard work. I might take Alex shopping for shorts and some new shoes. Other than that, I figure it will be a pretty chill weekend.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month
August was supposed to start off with Drew’s graduation, 2 parties for him, and then him moving. Along with family in town for those celebrations. Instead, no family except those of us who live here already. School is supposed to start for Alex on the 10th. My new hires will come in for a day of training on the 14th and Auburn University starts on the 17th. Rob and I will celebrate our 23rd anniversary at the end of the month. I hope things start looking better with all the COVID mess.

What Else is New
I feel like I’ve been negative Nancy in this post. Hopefully I didn’t depress you if you made it this far! I do appreciate those of you who take the time to read and comment. That definitely brings me joy to know that people read and care. I hope you’re July was great and that you have an even better August! I hope we all do.

In case you missed last month…June’s What’s Up Wednesday

What a bummer that his graduation was canceled; I too am hating the no set plans/ constantly changing plans. I LOVE to plan and learning to be a more go with the flow person goes against my personality.

No, you didn’t depress me! I completely understand as it seems like things just keep getting cancelled and changed. I’m so sorry about Andrew’s graduation, but it sounds like he is ready to move on to adult life. Hang in there, friend.
