1. Me! In 2011, I was proud to finally get a job, that I love. Going from a temp employee to part of the full time staff is great. You already know everyone. You know how to do the job. It only gets better from here! 2. I Love You I love my boys and Daisy. I also love the background in this photo: Auburn, Toomer’s Oaks, and the tradition being illustrated here. 3. Still Laughing… I know I’ve got some funny pics, but for some reason, I can’t seem to remember what they are. So I chose this one…

About a year ago, I discovered the easiest way to cook bacon. 4 reasons I love this way of cooking bacon: * Cooks the bacon nice and flat. * Don’t have to tend to it like you do when cooking bacon on the stove top. * Can cook a lot of bacon at one time. * Much easier to clean up. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. Get 2 cookie sheets and make sure they fit together like a puzzle. 3. Spray the bottom of the pan you plan to use as the top with cooking spray. 4. I line…

So today is Drew’s birthday and yes, he is a teenager! I’m not sure if I start feeling light-headed when I think of that, because it makes me feel old or because it seems like yesterday, I couldn’t wait to meet our first born. The other day, I had kind of this out of body experience. I was sitting in my Lazy Boy chair in the living room, where I usually sit when I’m in the living room. The boys were on the couch watching TV together. I had the weirdest picture appear in my head and I’m not sure…

Just a quick shot of Drew before he started to eat his strawberry shortcake. The weekend was a bit busier than I had anticipated and I didn’t get a chance to make his cake, so while we were at Publix picking up shrimp for his birthday dinner, I let him pick out a dessert. I still plan to make him a cake. For my memory’s sake, here’s what we did on his birthday: Sunday School Church Lunch at his chosen place, Shogun Auburn vs. Tennessee Basketball women (we lost) Cooked fried shrimp and fries for his birthday dinner Opened presents…

Today was the celebration. Very moving. Took lots of pics. I couldn’t decide which pic to use. Nothing really jumped out at me so I made a collage. See all of them here.

I’m not sure I can find the words to express the sadness that the Auburn Family are experiencing because of the impending death of the Toomer’s Oak Trees. These are the times when we realize the role of tree service springfield il. For those of you who are unaware of what I’m speaking of I’ll try to put it in a nutshell for ya. Toomer’s Corner is the center of town, right downtown and the corner of campus. It’s where 1,000’s of students, alumni, and fans gather after every Auburn victory. It’s a place where we celebrate by rolling the…

This season has been nothing less than remarkable and amazing. I agree with Coach Chizik in saying that to try and describe it would “cheapen it.” As Auburn Alum and die-hard fans, Rob and I go into every football season hoping and praying that Auburn plays well and goes to good bowl game. After the 2004 season losing a chance to play for the National Championship, it seemed as if we would probably never live to see Auburn do that well again. This team proved us wrong and we are so glad they did! Here’s when ESPN Game Day came…

**Yes, another picture of Daisy. I just can’t help myself. She is so photogenic and doesn’t mind the camera, unlike Rosie who would practically run away when she saw me get my camera out.** Daisy is adjusting nicely still. We’ve quickly learned some of her tendencies, which has helped us to know how she may react in certain situations. I was concerned about her response to the craziness that would probably occur while we watched the National Championship game, but she sat right at my feet. She stayed pretty calm most of the time and we never had to resort…

Meet the newest edition to our family. This beautiful Pembroke Welsh Corgi is Daisy. Some of you may recognize her if you read Tracy’s blog. I “met” her when I started doing the Mommytography project. She commented on my header, which you’ll notice has a Corgi on it. I responded in saying that we were currently Corgi-less, because Rosie passed away last year. Never did I think she would respond saying that she had a Corgi that she would like to find a good home for. I talked it over with Rob and after talking back and forth with Tracy…

What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before? Went to Oakland Cemetery for a PhotoWalk Did you keep your new years’ resolutions and will you make more for next year? I didn’t write any down this year. One of the main ones was to read 1 book a month, which I will be writing a blog post about soon. Did anyone close to you give birth? My sister-in-law gave birth to my newest Nephew, Kaleb.

I’ve had this post about half way done for awhile and am finally making myself finish. We did our traditional sleepover for Drew’s birthday. 8 boys came this year. They were really loud and rambunctious for the first few hours, but when it was time to ‘chill’ they did! They watched The Goonies and loved it! Each year we notice a little differing conversations and focuses of the party. This year they were really into throwing the football, texting each other their cell phones, and (as I stick my fingers in my ears) talking about girls. I wished I had…

So while at K-mart shopping for a birthday gift for a classmate of Alex’s…We’ve picked out the gift just had to get her a card since he insisted on it! Here’s the conversation that took place: Alex: Mom, I gotta fart. Where can we go so I can do it? Me: We’re almost done here, so just squeeze your butt cheeks together. Alex: Mom, I don’t know how to do that. Me: Just squeeze. Alex: I can’t Me: Ok, well then just let it go, no one is around. Alex: But I don’t want anyone to hear it. Me: No…

Yesterday’s sermon was over 2 of the 4 Biblical principles that our Preacher lives by daily. It was again another one of those sermons that I needed to hear. The 2 standards that he spoke of were: 1. Trusting in God. 2. Knowing that Happiness is a choice. These are things that I try to keep in mind, but these last couple of years have been quite trying for me. I’ve almost felt like anytime I decided I was going to be happy, I couldn’t because I am “unemployed.” I’m not able to: — save for my kids’ college. —…

I went through all 11,000 pics I took last year! I narrowed it down to about 90 something and then had to choose from there. It was fun and a bit challenging. As an “artist” I think we get attached to certain pictures for one reason or another. I tried not to just post the top 10 that I’m attached to. 10. Ok, this picture just evokes complete happiness and laughter. We were watching a herding demonstration and as you see, the one sheep wasn’t happy with the pushing and shoving so it just leaped up. I love that I…

I have a box of old T-shirts that the boys have grown out of that I just couldn’t bare to throw or give away. Since I’ve been trying to do more sewing, I decided it would be great to take these old T-shirts and make something ‘memorable’ and/or ‘usable’ out of them. The first attempt was to make a T-shirt pillow. I already had some soft fleece fabric that would have a similar “feel” to the T-shirt fabric. You alwa So here’s what I did: 1. Lay the T-shirt out flat. Iron it, if need be. 2. Mark out where…

I just can’t seem to get in a groove of blogging. Well…if I think about it, I really can’t get into a groove of anything! If that makes any sense! Anyway, today I’m gearing up for NINE 10 and 11 year old boys to come over and celebrate with Drew. We did it last year and it wasn’t too bad except for the noise of the air hockey table at 4 am! 🙂 I had planned on a full update, but time is ticking and he will be home with one party goer that is walking home with him….lateh!
