Day 3 of our New York Trip was actually our 1st full day in New Jersey. That morning we got gas and quickly figured out that NJ is a state that you can’t pump your own gas. After a quick google search when writing this post, August of this year it’s actually the ONLY state where you can’t pump your own gas. source First stop was to drive over to Montville, NJ to drive by Rob’s grandparents old house and his great uncle’s old stomping grounds to take a few pictures. Then, we made a trip over to Wegmans in…

Happy Monday, yall! I feel like I blinked and the weekend was over. I’m tired this morning. Here we are for a double of my weekly highlights (Sept. 11-17 & 18-24). I don’t feel like the last 2 weeks have been that eventful at least that’s not what’s showing up on my iphone camera rolls. Alex and Madison came over to discuss a potential cruise at Christmas. The night before Alex had to go to the ER to get 4 stitches in his forehead from a shelf falling on him at work. He’s ok, but sitting in the ER for…

Here we are for another travel journal. Today continuing on with our New York trip. If you missed Day 1, you can read about that here >>> Day 1 Here’s all about our 2nd day! We had planned on breakfast at a spot called the Big Tomato, but when we drove over there we saw the sign on the door that said “Cash Only” so we left. From there Rob found an Italian bakery not too far away, so we indulge in some amazing. After pasta the night before and then this yumminess…I was killing my normal eating routine, but…

Here we are for our LAST Desert trip journal. If you missed my previous posts from our Desert trip check those out >>>> Desert Trip Day 7 was a long day that leads into our flight home that was a red eye into Monday morning. I’ll talk more about that near the end of the post. We ate breakfast at our hotel and discovered while scrolling through social media that there was a shooting back near home in Dadeville, AL just about 20 miles from Auburn. So sad. Anyway, we took a minute to pray for anyone affected by that…

Today I’m continuing to share my trip journals from our Desert trip. Here we are for another trip journal. This is another day in Vegas. If you missed my previous posts from our Desert trip check those out >>>> Desert Trip That morning we woke up and decided to try one of the restaurants in our hotel. Food was really good. I had the Chilaquiles for the first time and Rob had the Best Eggs Benedict. After that we explored the Palazzo and Venetian shopping areas. Just amazing that as you’re shopping your surrounded by the man-made canals that wind through these resort areas. Really fun candy/dessert shop. Really cool view from…

Hello! It’s time for another watching and listening post, where I share what I’ve been watching and listening to the last 2 months. Last month I wrote about my recent YouTube obsessions: YouTube – June & July 23 Oh, we finally pulled the plug on “old” cable. We have add AT&T Uverse for years, but they continued to go up and up on price. They were trying to price us out of it, because they really don’t want to support it anymore. We finally made the switch to Direct TV stream, so we’ve joined the 21st century and are streaming…

Here we are for another weekly post. (August 7th-13th, 2023) I use Walmart pickup. I was so excited to see on the app recently where they give you the option to not have them put everything in bags. So I ended up ordering these and I really like them. So easy to bring inside and unload. The weekend before school started we went and heard the marching band play through all their stand tunes. It always gets us so excited for football. Drew, Caitlyn, and Bigsby came. We also brought Kayleigh. We finally got our hands on some of this…

Happy Friday! Here’s last week’s highlights (July 31-August 6, 2023)! Monday, Rob and I had lunch with Alex at the Savahn Thai Kitchen. Always enjoy my time with that boy. I have really been struggling with sleeping some nights. Maybe products from TopShelfBc might help. Last Tuesday I ended up having to go into work later because I was just so dead when the alarm went off. I made myself breakfast before heading into work. I’m in a search committee chair for an open position that I supervise in my department. My 1st time chairing a search committee. Last week,…

We headed to north towards the Grand Canyon. We stopped at Black Canyon Visitor center, which was a great idea. The retired couple that works there were full of great advice. We also got some maps. The views on the way… Not sure if other people do this, but when we’re in a beautiful spot we’ll sometimes pull over (in a safe…

Here’s a run down of happenings from July 20-30… I got these while in New Jersey at Trader Joe’s. So yummy! I picked one of these up somewhere along our trip and found it to be really good. My new favorite sparkling water for sure! This week back after vacay I really got back to cooking, but then after several nights of cooking I’m back to being burnt out with it. With that being said, when we got back from our trip, Rob was pretty sick. Caitlyn and Drew were so sweet to bring soup over for us that weekend.…

Last week’s highlights (June 26th-July 2nd, 2023)… It’s been a good week besides it being so dang hot. Monday Back to work. Beautiful day outside… Thursday My department had a little going away party for one of our staff members. Saturday Saturday was Lake Day with friends, so we got up and loaded the car and headed up. We made a stop for lunch at The Burritos Corner Mexican Grill. I got the Bistec a la Mexicana. Yummy! Such a beautiful day. Really hot, which made for a warm lake. Luckily cold pockets in the lake still showed up here…
