    Asleep at the Legos

Isn’t this so cute!?!? Alex has been so into Legos lately. He had them strewn from wall to wall in the living room. He pulled them back out the other night, after having to clean them up last weekend. He was wise to keep them in the bucket. Alex started trying to recreate a boat he saw in a Lego book he found. He took a break for a minute to get the pillow off the couch and then proceeded to lay down and play laying down! I was shocked when I looked over to see him asleep with his…

    13 Things: 2006 (TT #18)

Thirteen things… I’ve been doing some “tidying” up of my blogosphere and realized that all my banners for Thursday 13 were because the original website is gone. So I went and fixed that. Then I found a link to a new Thursday 13 site and decided I might try to pick back up on this. This used to be one of my favorite posts to do each week. Now thinking about what to write for my 13 this week. I’m going to list 13 things that have happened since my last Thursday 13 post, which was at the end of…

    Adventures at the Doctor’s Office!

Today I took Drew to the dr. for a check up for boy scout camp that he’ll be attending in a couple weeks. We saw a new doctor, Dr. M@tt C@rter, who was super nice. Drew checked out great, but to my surprise he had to get 2 shots. No big deal or so we thought…. The nurses come in to give him the shots in his arm. Didn’t seem to phase him much so he hops up and we go to pay and leave. On our way out the door he mentions that he feels like he’s gonna throw…

    Fix-It Friday: #16 Sweet Grin

Original – “Sweet Grin” Here’s my “fixed” version. Using CS4, I played with curves to help with the lighting issue. Then I unmasked the eyes and used the dodge tool to bring out the color. I then used an action called Glam Bur v.1 to help soften the picture. I cloned out some of the little red marks on his face.

    Congrats to Maria!

Picture courtesy of Savannah Now Saturday my sis-in-law, Maria, graduated from SCAD Atlanta. It was a great commencement ceremony. Very inspiring! They had display screens and while we were waiting for the ceremony to start they displayed examples of work from a select few graduates. I’m a pretty artsy person and as they flipped through the different majors, there were several that I think would be awesome. Made me really wish I would have been exposed to more before deciding what to major in in college. Live and learn! Glenn Close gave the commencement speech, which was quite interesting. After…

    Gatlinburg {Spring Break 2008}

We enjoyed a short trip to Gatlinburg. We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel. We spent a time in Ober Gatlinburg, at the Ripley’s Believe It Not Museum, and way above the city in the Space Needle. See more pics here.

This is NOT what I was hoping to see…

I went into the Laundry room yesterday to get something and this is NOT what I was hoping to see! I nearly screamed out loud it was so big. Huge! Monsterous! Gigantic! Nasty! Soon after that I’m hoping he died from being drowned by bug spray. After some research, I found this: So it looks like this nasty thing was a Wolf Spider. Now I’m going to have nightmares about spiders!

    Atlanta Weekend with the Family

I haven’t had a chance to write about last weekend. We headed up to Atlanta for the weekend. We stayed at The Westin Peachtree Plaza, which was lovely. The views from our room were awesome! We stayed really busy and got tons of walking in. Drew enjoyed playing in the Olympic rings of water at Centennial Park, while Alex moped after getting 16 drops of water on him. Here’s Drew standing in front of the Olympic rings. The tall cylindrical building in the background is our hotel, where we stayed. It was too bad I didn’t lose a couple pounds,…

    Brilliance…

Uh! Why don’t I learn my lesson! You can’t take paint that’s been sitting for a couple of years and expect it to actually match when you’re trying to make touch ups. I had this problem at the old house. Today I had the brilliant idea to find the old paint and do some “touch-ups.” The people who lived here before us had nearly 20 buckets of paint that they left, most of which are different shades of gray. I found the colors that I thought I needed, proceeded to stir each one up and then go make the touch-ups.…

    Sh-tuff….

My Mom says I haven’t been writing lately, which is true. I’ve been pretty quiet. I thought I’d write and make my Mom happy. 🙂 Everybody say, “Hi, Mom!” and root her on to comment on here. You can do it!! Anyway, Drew has been quite busy the last couple weeks. This week he’s going to Camp Invention during the day and Vacation Bible School in the evening. Last week he did Sports Academy Camp in the morning and Cub Scouts Twilight Camp in the afternoon. He’s ready to have time to relax and chill out. This weekend should be…

    Chicken Cordon Bleu

I used to love getting the chicken cordon bleu in the frozen section until I realized how much sodium they had. Really overall, just super unhealthy. I love being able to recreate something that I love making it the way I want to and that gives you the liberty of making it healthier. Chicken Cordon Bleu Servings: 4 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 35 minutes Ingredients: 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 6 slices Swiss cheese or Pepper Jack for some spiciness 4 slices cooked ham 1 egg 1 cup seasoned…

    Today

I think I’ve ran off my fan club. Haha! I know I haven’t been posting on a regular basis but many of you know things for me haven’t been great. The new house is wonderful and I have great neighbors. In fact, the boys played with the 2 boys next door and we ate dinner over there tonight. We had a really great time. If you’re reading this, Stef, THANKS!!!! It was nice to get away from the house and not think about unpacking and organizing and cleaning and everything else I’ve had to think about. We got bikes for…

    New House Ramblings

I decided to actually write and let you know what I’ve been up to lately. I’ve been busy trying to unpack still and get stuff organized and put in it’s place. I’ve hardly been able to touch the playroom, which is still piled high in boxes. We’ve purchased a piece of contemporary furniture for the entry way. I think it looks really nice. We also did some landscaping and tree trimming work. Beswick Tree Service offers professional tree trimming services and more. Also, we had sod installed this past weekend and it looks so much better! I stumbled upon a…

    Lots going on lately…

Ok, so for those of you interested, I did finish that list Friday night. We went out of town Saturday and Sunday. We had a really good time at Mr. Paul’s house. Paul and Vicki are always such great hosts. We swam and rode 4-wheelers and the kids road in the tractor!
