Yeah, I feel like posting these weekly updates, my life is pretty boring. It is what it is though, right! + Kayleigh bringing me one of very dilapidated babies. + Next 3 pics across are from the garden. Love seeing these pops of colors. + Drew and Caitlyn came over on 4th of July for a little bit and Bigsby and Kayleigh got to play. Besides that 4th of July was pretty boring. This year we were able to continue to tradition of Memorial Day Weekend at the lake. Here’s a few highlights and lots of pics… Rob and I got to the lake Friday and everyone else was at Niffer’s at the Lake for dinner. We had learned that Drew and Caitlyn had set up their new tent and would have room for Rob to stay in there with them. I was going be sleeping in the house this time because of my shoulder. We got all of our stuff unpacked. Mind you, I still can’t do much with my left arm,…

LIFE Happenings Here’s my weekly posts to catch you up. Week 23 Week 24 Week 25 Week 26 Loving my air fryer again. I feel like when you get small appliances like an air fryer, you go through phases of using it. It gets put away and you just kind of forget about it. I started using again for pork chops and that has just rejuvenated my love for it. Happy that I’m finally seeing some fruiting from the garden. Excited to get some stuff accomplished (haircut, eye appointment) Reminiscing about Drew’s graduation trip in 2016. Such a epic trip…

If you missed my first Texas post, you can click here. The 2nd half of the trip was visiting with family. On Friday morning, Rob said his goodbyes to the conference people and we loaded the car. We had about an hour and half drive ahead of us. Before going all the way over to Weatherford, we stopped back in the North Richland Hills for lunch at Chan’s Mongolian Grill and then drove by my Granny’s old house and the the house I grew up in. Neither of which are part of my family anymore, but since Rob wasn’t with…

+ Our dining room table that was Rob’s gramma’s is always dressed. She always had the table pad and a table cloth on it. So it has hardly any imperfections on it. When we need to wash the table cloth, we pull the table pad off and let it ‘air out’ 🙂 + On Sunday lunch, my mother-in-law brought 2 of our nephews and a niece that she was babysitting. + Friday, Caitlyn and I did lunch at Hey Day Market. We both got tacos from Wild Child. Pretty good, but pricey!! + Eye appointments for me and Alex on…

Here we are for Day 31! We made it to the end. Today we’re finishing up the series with a low carb cookbook called America’s Best Low Carb Recipes by Anne C. Cain. It is so chock-full of recipes. I love that it teaches the difference between good and bad carbs. It has 3 different carb-rating phases along with meals plans. I’ve been doing low carb for about a year and half, but I love these carb rating pages, to help me to get ideas for ways to cut carbs when I’m feeling like I just can’t lose weight for…

Here we are for Day 30 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old blog that scheduled ahead of time while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Gina Homolka from Skinny Taste recently published a beautiful book. I have loved her recipes from her blog. When I had the opportunity to review her book, The Skinnytaste Cookbook, I was delighted. This is not a diet/weight loss book. Gina is encouraging throughout the book and provides healthy food facts and eating tips, that are so easy to implement. I plan to try some of these tips and as well…

Today I’m sharing about the first part of our recent Texas Trip. Rob had a conference in Allen, TX in April and we had planned to fly there. In fact we had plane tickets already. Then after having my surgery and as the trip got closer, we decided it would be better to drive. We were able to get e-credits for our flights so we didn’t lose any money. This was going to make it so I wouldn’t have navigate an airport with 1 arm. It also meant we could bring as much as we wanted to. I am using…

+ On Tuesday nights, Opelika has Summer Swing. Each week a different band performs and the OHS band sells hot dogs and burgers. We went to see Kidd Blue and brought some chicken fingers from Foosackley’s and enjoyed an hour of music and food. + I don’t know why I keep adding my photos of pizza and salad. + My flowers in my container garden are blooming. + Samford Hall is just so beautiful. Here we are for Day 27 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old blog that scheduled ahead of time while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. I am a choc-a-holic, so when I was given the book called Chocolate for Every Season by a secret pal at work one year, I knew they knew me well. This Fudgy Mocha-Almond Pie is on my must try list! This book is a must read cookbook because it has such a great variety of recipes that include chocolate. It has a section for gifts to make, which is great for…
