Dang, I just can’t get back into a steady routine of posting these on time. Sorry guys! Life has just been crazy lately, but I’m going to work on it. 🙂 Something I can’t live without I didn’t think this one would be so hard, but I did struggle with it. I decided to take this close up shot of my USB portable fan. I’m a pretty hot-natured person so I love having a fan on at work. I also always generally have a ceiling fan on at home too. Rob had a conference he was presenting at, as well as attending in St. Louis back in April. I’ve never been, so I decided to tag along to take full advantage of the paid for hotel room. He had to be there Sunday evening for a meet and greet and since Alex had prom the Saturday before we ended up flying out Sunday morning. We got there in the afternoon, Ubered to the hotel, checked in, and then explored a little bit of the area by foot before he had to go to the meet and greet. Citygarden Sculpture Park…

Everyday – Kayleigh voluntarily gets in her crate everyday. Since she was raised with a bunch of other corgis, they were all crate trained. That’s where they spent a good amount of time. Show dog life is different. As you can see, she loves her crate and its honestly where she prefers to be if we’re not giving her attentions. To not leave such pets unattended whenever owners are away, services like dog boarding Melbourne are their allies. plant – quarterly – This plant has grown so much! strapped I’m strapped for ideas for this one. 😉 starts with V…

This is the last Omaha post! In this post, we woke up in Mount Vernon, IL and made our way home. About 25 miles south of Mount Vernon on I-57 in Benton, IL we passed this George Harrison Commemorative Mural, which I had read about on Atlas Obscura. I just snapped this from the highway, but you can pull off to get a picture in front of it. Our first stop was in Land Between the Lakes. which is located in Kentucky and Tennessee between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. This was designated a U.S. national recreation area in 1963…

Continuing on with another Omaha post. Wednesday After the loss Tuesday night, we had to determine how long we were going to take to get home, what route we were going to take, what cities we wanted to be sure to go through, etc! Our plan for that day was to drive to Des Moines, IA, St. Louis, MO, and spend the night in Mt. Vernon, IL. We pulled off to check out an old Danish Windmill in Elkhorn, IA. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a windmill like this in person and for sure, not this close up. There’s…

Monday Auburn had a 1 o’clock game, so we got up and headed downtown and walked to the team hotel for Tiger Walk. In downtown Omaha they have an area called Pioneer Courage Park full of beautiful sculptures. Here we are in our seats before the game started. Auburn beat Stanford, which was so exciting. I was so happy for Rob that he finally got to an Auburn win at the CWS and that they lived to play another game. After the game, I honestly don’t remember what we did after that…I’m thinking we went back and ate leftovers at…

A few weeks ago on a Monday night when Auburn played Oregon State in the 3rd and final game of the series to determine who was going to the Men’s College World Series we didn’t have any plans to go to Omaha. However, Rob looked at me during that game and said, you know if we when we’re going to have to discuss going. After the win, Drew and Caitlyn came over and we started looking at hotels and thinking about if we could take off work that quickly. We’d have to leave by Friday afternoon to get there by…

Today is the last Carnival Horizon post! This post is covering the day we got off the ship and what we did afterwards. Disembarkation day is never fun, but it really seemed to go better this time. The day before we picked up luggage tags. If memory serves there is an early group and later group. We picked the later group. However, I think everyone has to be off the ship by like 11am. I know its been forever since we’ve cruised, but again I thought it went easier and much less chaotic. We were off the ship, collected our…
