    Scavenger Hunt Sunday #7

    Love Here you see my gift from Rob for Valentine’s Day. Keep an eye out for the funny story that goes along with this. Duplicated This weekend we went on a cub scout trip to the McWane Center in Birmingham, AL. What an awesome place! It’s a science museum that covers many types of sciences. I’ll be posting about this soon too. Anyway, the bottom floor was a favorite of many of the scouts. I love the Jelly Fish! Trend Trending locally for me this weekend was AU Baseball. The boys and I went to the first game Friday afternoon.…

    Valentine’s Gift Gone Wrong…Again

    This year the Friday before Valentine’s Day we had a lovely dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Rob’s company paid for our dinner so we enjoyed a full 3 course meal. Here’s what we had: Appetizer: Wild West Shrimp Main Entres: White Cheddar & Bacon Stuffed Filet (me) Mashed Potatoes Mixed Green Salad Bacon Wrapped Filet (Rob) Seasoned French Fries Steakhouse Mac & Cheese Dessert: LongHorn Dessert Sampler It was an amazing dinner and we practically rolled out of there we were so full! Had leftovers to boot. So on Valentine’s Day, I surprised him with gift hampers tasmania. I got a…

    This week…

    This week was been a whirlwind! One of our nieces, ‘Toady,’ stayed with us this week. Her parents (Rob’s sister and her hubby) are preparing to make a big move across country, so we agreed to keep Toady, who’s the oldest of three children. Every morning we would get up and I drove her about 45 miles to her Pre-K class. I hung out at their apartment for the 3 hours that she was there and then I’d pick her up and we drove back to Auburn. It’s been fun to be able to get to know her better. She’s…

    Project 366 Rewind {Week 6}

    5. Interesting Hanger: After folding clothes, I pulled out some hangers and noticed this one. Made me laugh. 6. Pine Hills: Monday, I visited a very old cemetery here in Auburn. There are many well known names in the Auburn community buried there. I got some awesome pics that I’ll be using in a post when I get done editing, researching, and writing! 🙂 7. 2016 Graduation Requirements: When Drew brought this home yesterday, I nearly broke down in tears! I can’t admit to myself that next year he will be considered a high school student. I don’t for sure…

    The Story Of Us

    In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’ve noticed many of my blogger friends have been linking up with From Mrs. to Mama. I decided to do it as well. Picture from each year we’ve been together. 🙂

    Project 366 Rewind {Week 5}

    29. Magnolia Cherry Blossom Tree: I love these trees. I really want some in my yard. 30. Drive by shooting: Photography that is. 🙂 With some editing in Picnik. 31. RBD Auditorium: I’ve always thought this room would make for some really cool pics. I finally got around to taking some pics of it, because soon these seats will be ripped out and this will become a computer lab. I had a class in this room a few weeks ago and these seats are dreadfully uncomfortable. See more pics of the auditorium here. 1. Rain: It seems to rain here…

    Scavenger Hunt Sunday #5

    Strike a Pose This is one of my awesome student workers, Marci. She was sporting her BAZINGA shirt (Big Bang Theory) the other day and I just couldn’t resist having her strike a pose. Thanks, Marci! So cute! Footwear These are not my “go to” shoes, but I like them because I usually always wear black shoes. I get excited when I put together an outfit that I can wear these. Pretty comfortable too. Hobby Reading is a hobby I try to embrace. I’ve a pretty slow reader most of the time and my comprehension has never been great. As…

    Library Story #2

    WARNING: Bathroom Story So my first silly story is about something that just happened to me here at work. This lady comes up to the Circulation desk and talks to my student worker. I noticed that she had a look of disgust as she was talking. She walks off and my student worker tells me that one of the women’s bathroom is disgusting and that she can’t even use 4 of the stalls. Luckily that bathroom has 8 stalls. I get up to go see what she’s talking about. I’m like “wow, wonder what I’ll find in here.” I’m visualizing…

    Pinewood Derby

    Today was Alex’s first Pinewood Derby that he got to participate in. He’s watched his brother do it for many years. We set the bar kind of high considering he won the Pack Race and the District Race! ooops! Who knew his car would be so good?

    My Daybook for this Week {8}

    Outside my window… beautiful spring-like weather. I am thinking… of Toomer’s Trees and all the time, effort, and money being put into trying to save them. All because of an idiot! Read about it here. I am thankful for… all the well-educated folks here in Auburn and all of the U.S. that are helping to save the tree. Drew is… in his 2nd week of practice before time trials to determine if he makes the JV track team. Alex is… working on a 1,000 piece puzzle he got while he was visiting the USS Alabama today. From the kitchen… I…

    101 in 1001

    Over the years I’ve seen various other bloggers work towards completing 101 tasks in 1001 days. Although, I already have a bucket list, many of the tasks on my bucket list are things I’m sure I’ll never do in my life time. However with this 101 in 1001, I’ve tried to think of tasks/goals that are achievable in this time frame. Start date: Friday, February 18, 2011 End date: Friday, November 15, 2013 I would encourage you to make each day count and maybe making a list like this will give you a little motivation. If you decide to do…

    Busy afternoon

    This afternoon was busy. First we started off at Plainsman Park for the 1st baseball game of the season. I just had my point & shoot, so I didn’t get any great pics of the game. I did however manage to get some good pics of Aubie. From there, Drew and I went his den meeting, where one of our den dads is a police officer who came and talk to the boys about being safe.

    Ideas to Help your 365 Project be a Good One

    The other night I had one of those nights, where I just laid in bed and couldn’t stop tossing and turning and my mind was just flying and made it impossible to sleep. I for some reason got on the subject of the 365 project, trying to think of things to take pics of. I’ve tried doing the 365 project for the last several years and eventually I get burned out. I actually started coming up with ways to make it more exciting. I got up and started writing…. Experiment with lighting, focus, angle, aperture, bokeh, depth of field (DoF),…

    Update on Life {a post with NO pictures}

    I’ve been wanting to update on what’s been going on. I’m enjoying so much doing the 365 Project, but this blog wasn’t meant to be mainly a photography blog. Although, this blog has turned into much more that I had originally planned, which was to chronicle the lives of my family, the good, the bad, and sometimes even the ugly! Life is starting to rev back up again. Drew starts back to soccer practice this week. He’s already returned to his weekly scout meetings and D-group sessions. He’s thinking of trying out for the JV track team. This weekend he’ll…

    Library Story #1

    Not sure if I’ve talked about my temporary evening job I’ve had since November. If you follow me on Facebook, you’re well aware. Anyway, it has been a true blessing. It really helped us survive Christmas. Unfortunately it has finally come to an end, but I’ve made a few notes during this experience. I’ve learned so much and it has really been a fun job. So here goes….. Did you know that you can rent lap tops at the library? and Group study rooms? Extension cords and even power strips? There’s also DVD’s, Boxes of Rocks, and dry erase markers…

    Snow Day {Feb 2010}

    We had a snow day on Friday. We made our way over to our neighbors across the street. They have a nice hill that the boys sled down on inner tubes. We probably ended up with 4-5 inches. Here’s some pics:

    Junk or Treasure?

    We went last week to Texas. It was a very quick trip to see Grandmother and try to get all my stuff from the house. We brought a ton of stuff back. Nothing of great value and really when you look at it all, it looks like a bunch of junk! But one man’s junk is another man’s treasures, right? And most of this stuff I brought back is treasure to me. If you asked me how you box up memories, I’d show you the boxes of stuff sitting in my living room. I emptied 2 of the boxes last…
