    A Sad Goodbye

I mentioned we had to go out of town for a funeral. I had started writing details about what happened, but really this isn’t my story to share. What I will share is that Drew’s fiance’s mom passed away. At 47… It wasn’t a surprise. She’s been sick for years. It was still the saddest thing. During our time down in Florida, I had 2 new experiences. 1. I witnessed someone on their death bed. That is hard. The beautiful thing that I witnessed, however, was getting to see Drew comfort Caitlyn as she sat there and watched her mom…

Today we’re continuing more cruise posts. If you missed my post about day 0 & 1, read that here>>>Carnival Glory Day 0 & 1 Day 2 & 3 of our cruise were days at sea. I probably won’t write about all the sea days. Sometimes trying to figure out how to structure these cruise posts is hard. So much I want to share, but also not wanting to take months writing these posts. We’ll see. Day 2 Monday was our 1st day at sea. We slept in and then decided to go to the main dining room for breakfast. I…

    Carnival Glory Cruise:Day 0 & 1

Today I’m finally starting to share about our Back to Back cruises. Actually this first post is about us driving down to New Orleans and the day we got on the ship. We left around 1pm after an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony. We stopped at Conecuh headquarters for Cajun sausage dogs down in Evergreen, AL. The weather got scary. It monsooned on us for a bit, but we made it to New Orleans a little before 7pm. We stopped for dinner at Gretna Depot, which was about a mile and half from our hotel. They have a drink called…

Hey yall! Here we are again for another travel post. In case you missed other posts from this trip, they’re listed here: Missouri/Kansas Trip After getting up in Kansas City, our next plan of action was to continue driving. Entering the state of Kansas Topeka, KS Our first stop was in downtown Topeka. The rotunda was gorgeous! Down one hall were signs like the one you see below that talked about iconic Kansans. October 2022 Monthly Musings-Thanksgiving Prep

Today I’m linking up for Monthly Musings for October with Patty & Holly. 1. Do you host Thanksgiving or go somewhere else? I typically do not host. We either go to my mother-in-law’s or my sister-in-law’s depending on who’s in town. Sometimes my in-laws go visit other family for Thanksgiving. This is a pic of my sis-in-law’s kitchen from last year. 2. What dishes do you make or contribute? Everyone always wants me to make my Praline Sweet Potatoes. A couple years ago no one was bringing dressing or gravy so I decided to try a new dressing. This Andouille…

    Monthly Digest – October 2022

How is it almost November?!?! It is just crazy to think how quickly time goes by even though the days often drag by. Anyone else feel that? LIFE Happenings Rob and I watched Drew’s dog, Bigsby for an extended weekend earlier in the month, when he and Caitlyn had to go to Florida. We took Bigsby and Kayleigh for a walk. A Day in the Life::a Tuesday in October 2022

I always have such great intentions of keeping up with a day so I can write a day in the life post and at some point I forget so I only have half day recorded. I actually did it this time! I love reading these type posts and it’s always fun to look back remember. Here’s what a Tuesday is like for me… 6:30am Every morning I drag myself out of bed, but seeing Kayleigh laying in all the different way she lays never gets old. Here she is on a different morning. Granny’s House

This is a post I wrote on FB the morning I found out my Granny’s house had been listed for sale. I knew it was coming, so it wasn’t a complete shock. Granny is my Mom’s mom who passed away in 2015. My Granny’s house is for sale in North Richland Hills, TX. I’d love for a sweet family to make this their home and make wonderful memories like I did growing up. As I looked through the pictures of this empty house which can be sold on housereal.net, memories flood my brain. All the banana nut bread, chicken and…
