Here we are again for another Travel Tuesday post! We’re continuing to explore a little bit of North Alabama with some time in Huntsville and Cullman. For this post we ventured out to Natural Bridge Park which is about an hour drive from Cullman. County Rd 314 Natural Bridge, AL The Natural Bridge formation, which dates back about 200 million years, is 60 ft (18.3 m) high and 148 feet (45 m) long. Yall, I don’t know even know what happened last week. I realized over the weekend that today is the yesterday of January which means I should have written and posted this post last Wednesday! Ooops!! Linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating Earlier in January, Rob cooked some steaks out on the grill and tried the Bobby Flay method and they were really yummy. We also did some New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. I did a new stir-fry in sheet pan with fried rice that was the best I’ve ever made. I need to try…

So I did this post back in 2011! Cannot believe it’s been that long and really, I thought I had done this post more than once. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’ 1. Me! 2020 has held lots of ups and downs for everybody including myself. I’m happy to have made it through the year without getting COVID (knock on wood) and having a good year working from home 9 out of 12 months. It’s pretty difficult to be a supervisor when you’re not in…

With it being the last Wednesday of the month, it’s time to link up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating We didn’t have a lot of pasta left from Christmas day, but we did have a lot of our meal from Christmas Eve so we’ve been eating that. What I’m Reminiscing About I’m thinking back to Christmas Day. It was a little odd, but still good. I am out of town so I haven’t had a chance to finish my Christmas post, but I will get that up soon. What I’m Loving I’m loving all…

Frank Zappa…a name I heard as Rob read from book that he got for Christmas. As he read he said the name “Frank Zappa”…in my head “Dad loved the Zappa family and their music.” Then I remembered what today was… 2013 the family and I were in the air on an airplane. You can read about that here. This combination of days. Christmas and the day after. Christmas such joy and elation. Soaking in the family moments. Yesterday on my Timehop app a cropped pic of this popped up. It was Dad’s last Christmas (which we knew would be the…

Holy moly! How is it December? Here’s another Currently post. I have been doing some baking lately. I have several recipes to update or just share for the first time. I’ve made pumpkin bread, oatmeal cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and Chocolate Chip Toffee Cookies. Of course with the holidays coming, I’ll be making more cookies like Pretzel Square Bites, Snowballs, Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Crackers. I’m getting tired just thinking about it. I have done a tiny bit of Christmas decorating. I have 1 Christmas bin that we store in a different part of the attic that is super…

I’ve got several recipes I need to get posted, but this week and last week I have been super slammed at work. These Chocolate Chip Toffee Cookies are so yummy! What I’m Reminiscing About With Thanksgiving tomorrow, of course, I’ve thought back to other Thanksgivings. Look back with me at previous Thanksgivings: 2019 / 2016 / 2015 / 2013 What I’m Loving I’m loving that its the holiday season. Here’s hoping its not too stressful. What We’ve Been…

Have you ever written a post and then for some reason it doesn’t get saved as you’re writing like it usually does? You just have a couple things left to do before you post and then, poof it’s gone. Then you’re so mad. You don’t want to have to rewrite the thing and you just want to move on with your day, but you also really want to post it. You swallow your anger and frustration and write it…again. That’s me right now. So aggravated! Deep breaths…Puts a smile on her face. Hey yall! It’s time for Monthly Musings for…

Apple Walnut Oatmeal Muffins Jalapeno Popper Dip Jalapeno Poppers – Repurposed Leftovers What I’m Reminiscing About Again I’m reminiscing as I go through old travel photos. I promised a while back that I would write a post about my favorite YouTube channels that I’m currently watching. I don’t know if you’ve embraced YouTube yet. I know I only watched YouTube for how to videos until maybe 3 years ago. I go through phases where regular TV just gets old and YouTube always has something new and current about any topic you can imagine. I enjoy YouTube channels of all sorts. My kids think I’m weird because some of the stuff I watch, but I really enjoy it. I think the main reason I like every channel…

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Last Sunday, we drove to church that afternoon for drive by communion as well as blessing of the pets. Everybody loved seeing Kayleigh. Rob and Drew went the Auburn football game Saturday. This is a pretty big deal with COVID. Auburn decided to make game by game decisions on who can attend. The first game was pretty much students only. This game, which was the 2nd home game was a mix of season ticket holder and students. It was a yucky, rainy day. Hence the reason I didn’t go. So it was a pretty bleak…

iPHONE PICS & GOINGS ON Wednesday was my 45th birthday! WOW! Numbers usually don’t really bother me, but man that sounds old. I had a great birthday. Taking the day off was great. I got a chocolate candy bar (thanks, Alex!) I also go an Echo Dot, a lap desk so my hot laptop doesn’t sit straight on my legs when I’m working in the living room, an Auburn scarf, an Auburn gnome (for my garden). Caitlyn got me the cutest sponge holder for the kitchen. Drew and Buster came over to visit. With my pick-up order from Walmart they…

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating I feel like this is almost the same answer as last month, but its true. I think I burnt myself out all these months being home and preparing/cooking lunch and dinner. I can’t seem to get back to meal planning and when I have a half done meal plan I don’t stick with it. However, I have managed to make some yummy food, but didn’t write down how I did it. I made a chili soup, kind of just a more soupy version of chili…

I wasn’t sure what call this post, because it wasn’t technically a commencement for Drew. However, its as a close as we’re gonna get to a ceremony. He got all dressed up (for pics mainly) and wore his cap and gown. We got to go into the stadium and he got his name up on the big screen in Jordan Hare stadium, which does not happen during a normal commencement. Watch as he soaks it all in and gets to the center where they call his name. No one to greet him or give him a folder with the Auburn…

Another month done. I’m ready for cooler weather and football. I’m just praying nothing happens and they don’t cancel SEC football this fall. We’re ready to kick off Sept. 26th! I sure hope the temps start getting cooler. Anyway, I’m once again linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday to recap some goings-on from August. What We’re Eating Honestly this last month, I’ve slacked on my menu planning. I had the hopes of just trying to use up stuff in the freezer, which I’ve done a little bit. I need to just take an inventory of what…

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating I made these Spicy Bacon Wrapped Pineapple Bites. What a nice yummy, easy treat to make! One of my go tos over this time of COVID has been the Frontera Fajitas. Super easy and good! What I’m Reminiscing About I’ve been thinking about when life was ‘normal.’ I am so over everything being up in the air and things getting canceled/postponed. What I’m Loving I am relishing the last few weeks with Andrew living under my roof. I’m enjoying any little bit of time we…

Last week I shared the 1st part of our St. Trip with you. Click to read that>>>>St. Simons Island Trip-Part 1 Today’s post covers the 2nd half of the trip from Wednesday through Saturday when we head home. Wednesday So after a pretty tiring day in Savannah, on Wednesday we decided to stick around St. Simons. Rob and I ventured out while the boys stayed back at the condo. We stopped by Gascoigne Bluff Park. As you can see this is another gorgeous spot with Live Oaks and Spanish Moss. What you don’t see in the pic is the 9…

Saturday Earlier this summer we were itching for a change of scenery and decided to take a week off and go on a vacation. With Drew starting classes right before the 4th of July, we determined that the week before that would be good. This ended up being Drew’s graduation trip. No, it’s not NYC, but it was better than nothing! We got up early Saturday morning and headed over to St. Simons Island, Georgia. We stopped in Dawson, GA at Mark’s Melon Patch (8580 Albany Highway Dawson, Georgia 39842) for some peaches. I enjoyed their Sunflowers and Zinnias so…
