    Here we are for another trip journal. This is another day in Vegas. If you missed my previous posts from our Desert trip check those out >>>> Desert Trip That morning we woke up and decided to try one of the restaurants in our hotel. Food was really good. I had the Chilaquiles for the first time and Rob had the Best Eggs Benedict. After that we explored the Palazzo and Venetian shopping areas. Just amazing that as you’re shopping your surrounded by the man-made canals that wind through these resort areas. Really fun candy/dessert shop. Really cool view from…

    Desert Trip – Day 1

    Today I’m continuing to share about our Desert trip… The next day (Monday) even though it felt like we went to bed at 2 or 3 am because we went from central time to pacific time, we got up at a decent hour. We wanted to start exploring before it got really hot. We had breakfast at the hotel and ventured over to South Mountain Park. We saw this interesting place on the way and stopped, because we were obsessed with cacti! Rob grabbed this cute selfie of us at Scorpion Gulch. We had wanted to explore Mormon Trail. However,…

    Desert Trip – Day 0

    Now that I’m done recapping our cruise, I’m going to jump into our most recent big trip. On Easter Sunday, we went to church and then had lunch at our house, before jumping in the car and heading to the airport. Travel days I often label Day “0” in case you’re wondering. Phoenix here we come! We were late taking off because of maintenance issues on the original plane, but the sunset I got to witness made up for it! The plane wasn’t very full, which was nice. Rob and I had a seat between us as the rows sandwiching…

    Week 14::2023

    Hey yall! Here we are for another week of highlights (April 3rd-9th, 2023). You know me…always playing catch up when it comes this place. 🙂 Thanks to those who stick around and show me some love. Tuesday I think I mentioned it in my last weekly post, but when we were in Florida, I was having some pretty bad stomach issues. I couldn’t get into the nurse practitioner until Tuesday. They were guessing it’s my gallbladder, which is what I’ve been thinking. Friday I went in for an ultrasound and found out I have ‘sludge and possibly a small gallstone.’…

    Week 13::2023

    We left that Sunday to go down Florida to help Rob’s family in his grandparents house. With our jobs if the death in the family is so many miles away you get extra days of bereavement leave. We got 5 days off and ended up using all of it. Here’s some highlights from the week. Monday Since we were down in Florida and needed to do something besides go through stuff and pack, we took Monday to drive over to Dunedin for the last spring training game of the year there. In case you missed other posts from this trip, they’re listed here: Missouri/Kansas Trip After getting up in Kansas City, our next plan of action was to continue driving. Entering the state of Kansas Topeka, KS Our first stop was in downtown Topeka. The rotunda was gorgeous! Down one hall were signs like the one you see below that talked about iconic Kansans. I enjoyed learning about some people I didn’t realize were from there. The stone corridors on the main floor were beautiful. From there we drove over to…

    Kansas City, MO

    Hello, y’all! Today we’re continuing with another travel post from our St. Louis trip. After spending 5 days in St. Louis, mainly while Rob was attending a conference, we were ready to explore some other nearby cities. In the last travel post, you can see we basically ate our way through St. Louis and then made our way to Kansas City. On our way there we stopped in Columbia, MO to see Mizzou. After about 2 more hours in the car, we arrived in Kansas City, checked into our hotel, and got to bed after a long day. The next…

    Mizzou

    On our way to Kansas City, we stopped in Columbia, MO to see Mizzou (University of Missouri). Funny enough, my school, Auburn just played Mizzou this last weekend in football. I was there to see these 2 terrible teams play and at the end it was a calamity of errors that ended up going into over time. We ended up winning, but it was so ugly. I think that will be the only SEC game we win this season. Mizzou is a beautiful campus. I have a new appreciation for it for sure. The story of these columns is interesting.…

    St. Louis Trip::Day 5

    Today I’m sharing about our last full day in St. Louis. At this point in the trip, Rob was done with his conference. We had a few hours in St. Louis before we ubered a rental car place that offers airport limousine services and Limo Rental Solutions so that we could go explore some other areas. That morning we had tickets to ride up the Gateway Arch, so we got up early enough to walk there and grab some breakfast. We stopped at Chili Mac’s Diner (510 Pine St, St. Louis, MO 63101). From there we walked over to the…

    St. Louis Trip::Clydesdale VIP Tour [Day 4]

    Today I’m sharing another adventure while we were in St. Louis. We took an uber over to the Budweiser Brewery for the Clydesdale VIP Tour. When you get there you check in at the counter and then you can hang out in the display area and look and read about the history of the company and how their beer is made. And just so I can remember COVID related stuff, these next two pictures are cute. When its time for the tour to start, they lead you out through the back doors. There you see the Clydesdale Semis that they…

    St. Louis Trip::Day 3

    I am continuing to share about our St. Louis trip today. I ubered over to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I was honestly just scared to take public transportation. I’m sure I would have been fine since it was daytime, but I still decided to Uber. I am really into gardening and flowers and I knew I would enjoy seeing one of the oldest botanical institutions in the U.S. I didn’t do much research beforehand, but I did purchase the ticket ahead of time online ($14). I went in with the mindset I wanted to see the entire thing, but once…

    St. Louis Trip::Day 2

    Today we’re continuing with our travel posts from St. Louis. In case you missed St. Louis post #1>>>St. Louis Trip Day 1 The 2nd day, Rob headed out to his conference. I lingered in the hotel room trying to figure out what exactly I was going to do that day. I decided to explore the area by foot. We stayed at the Downtown St. Louis Marriot Grand, which is a great location only about a about a half mile to the Gateway Arch National Park. Friends had recommended going inside the Old Courthouse. However, it was undergoing renovations, so that…
