    The Weekly [1.25-2.14.2021]

I’ve really done a bad job of keeping up with my ‘the weekly’ posts lately. I’m thinking about changing what they’re called because they’ve kind of morphed from what these posts are supposed to be. Plus when I went to start this post, I thought I was a week behind. Turns out, I’m 3 weeks behind. *eyeroll!* So let’s jump back to the week of Jan. 25th… Rob helped me set up my new phone and I’m still getting used to the way a 12 works differently than a 7. This was the week Rob was having really bad muscle…

Messy My desk at home, which has gotten all too messy. It’s kind of starting to drive me crazy. Writing I decided to pull out an old journal that I have of my Grandmother’s. I may have to spend some time and reread it. Glass I had some different ideas for glass and ended up taking a picture of this glass candle jar. I thought it was pretty with the light of the candle. Alive This is Poison Ivy or Virginia Creeper (I think). Even though it’s red, it’s still alive…unfortunately. Its so invasive. Photographer’s Choice I had to pick…

Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, AL

Today I’m continuing on with another old travel post. After leaving Huntsville we needed to head home, but wanted to make the most of our day. We drove over to Cullman, AL, which is about an hour south of Huntsville. We have been to Cullman several times, but have never stopped to see the Ave Maria Grotto. If you’re ever in Cullman, this is a must see! 4 acres in an old quarry on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey covered in 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous religious structures in the world like the St. Peter’s…

I want it in all the colors and varieties. Womens Vneck Casual Comfort Cotton Blouses /reading/ I got a book called The Songs of Jesus: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Psalms for Christmas and did good reading it for a few days, but then it was time to get back to work and all my holiday routines went out the window. Sentence a Day – January 2021

This last year several of my blogging buddies have been doing a post called Sentence a Day where you write down a sentence to sum up your day. Now I love how Leslie from Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After says “one run-on sentence a day.” If only I had known we could cheat like that 😉 I have a feeling like mine may be more like that for February! 1 – Drew tested positive for COVID and Caitlyn started January symptoms later in the day. 2 – Nice lazy day of bowl game watching and lots of…

    Pumpkin Bread

Growing up my Granny, my Mom’s mom, was the best cook in my family. She always had banana nut bread or pumpkin bread stocked up in the freezer and any time I was walking out the door, she’d tell me to stop by the freezer and grab some bread to bring home. Ugh! How I miss her and her cooking! I’ve been making her Banana Nut bread for years. It’s really my favorite, but this last fall I had made a Fall Food Bucket List and this Pumpkin Bread was on there! Servings: Depends on what type of pan you…

    All About You

Hey yall! Today I’m excited to be linking up with good ol’ blog friend, Leslie and my new blog friend, Carrie. They are starting a new series called from Texas with Love. I’m not sure if they really only want Texans linking up, but regardless I thought it would be a fun post to write. The theme for January is All About You – (re)introduce yourself to your readers. This post has given me several ideas for upcoming posts, so that’s always a good thing. Where are you from? I am from Richland Hills, Texas, which is about 9 miles…

Two Must-Sees in Huntsville, AL for Taphophiles

Here we are again for another ‘catch up’ travel post since we’re not traveling much because of COVID. A few years ago Rob and I went up to Huntsville, AL for a wedding. We spent the weekend there and made it into a mini-vacation. While we were there I had a couple spots I wanted to check out because I guess I’m a Taphophile. Admittedly, I had to google ‘nickname for people who love cemeteries’ and found this: In the last few years, I’ve become quite interested in checking out really old or unique cemeteries. When researching what to do…

    The Weekly [1.17-24.2021]

Hey yall! How was your weekend? Mine was good…for the most part. We celebrated Drew’s 23rd birthday. Man, as I type that, it makes me feel old. How am I old enough to have a kid that age?! I’m changing my “The Weekly” posts to run Monday-Sunday instead of Sunday-Saturday, but this week is my transition so this one runs Sunday-Sunday. I have wanted to do that for some time because that way I have the entire weekend in 1 post not splitting Sunday off from it, which I don’t prefer. Anyway, let’s jump in to last week! PICS &…

    The Weekly Catchup [12.27.2020-1.16.2021]

I know I keep saying it, but man, this year has been so busy so far. How are we already more than half way done with January? I was looking back to see when my last “The Weekly” post was, which was from back in December! My iPhone camera is dying and so I have quit taking pictures with it. I’m supposed to be getting a new phone through my work, but there’s some type of delay with it. Anyway, so this post usually includes pics from my iPhone. Although the last several months, most pics are from one of…
