Well, it’s Thursday already! Most weeks, I’m anxious to see the weekend get closer, but not this week. We’re on spring break and it has (of course) flown by! I was hoping for a relaxing, stress-free week. It’s turned out to be the opposite, but for good reason. Although, I’m not going to disclose the reason quite yet. Anyway, I’m going to go try and enjoy my last couple days off…

This is the house that we wanted to buy and the entire reason we put our house on the market. GONE…SOLD! I’ve actually known about this for a couple weeks, but had to get over the devastation before making this public. Life goes on. We’ll continue to pray that ours sells and that we find something else as good. If you’re family, please beware that if you bring this up or anything about selling, you may not get the nicest of responses. You’ve had fair warning. 🙂

So yesterday was Alex’s birthday. He had a great day. For me, it wasn’t as great. It actually started Tuesday when I went to put my contact in my right eye, which looked irritated. I didn’t think much of it. I just went ahead and switched to a new contact, because my other one had some jagged edges. That night I took my contacts out and my eye was even more irritated and red and it hurt. It got worse every time I blinked, so I went and looked in the mirror and it was bloody right above my iris.…

Exhausting day! I’ll let you in on the details tomorrow. Here’s a couple collages of pics from Alex’s photo shoot Saturday. These will be his THREE year pics.

This is the day he went home. Believe it or not, this outfit was for newborns, but it swallowed him up! Where has the time gone? I can’t believe three years have passed already. In so many ways though, his birth and the whole labor and delivery process seems like a dream, like it never happened. I think back to that day and it’s hard to fathom that I went through that agonizing pain. It’s crazy how time tends to dampen the feelings you go through the day a child is born. When you’re in the moment, everything is vivid…

Well, I was trying to think what came after the wedding and well it was pretty much a baby! I found out I was pregnant at 5 months!! I was on the bc pill and just had no idea until I started feeling movement and my tummy was getting big and hard. Yes, it was quite scary. Twenty-two, newly married, in college, and pregnant! It definitely could have been worse. I do realize that, but calling the family to let them know that we were expecting was pretty nerve-racking. Everyone approved and it’s not like anything was going to change,…

I’m so unmotivated to get Alex to potty train. I’ve got to find some motivation some where, because he’s going to be 3 in a couple weeks. Drew was potty trained at school in a matter of days! As for Alex, he doesn’t have the structure from his teacher that Drew had, so I guess I’m forced to take on the task all by myself. I just hope that when I find the motivation that they back me up at day care. So bring it on people. What can I do to kick start this thing called potty training?

Continued from Part III. Soon after I moved to Auburn I got a job working at Auburn City Hall. I worked there from May until September, when school started. In May of the next year (1997), we decided to get married. So the frenzy of planning of a wedding was underway. We only had about 3 months to plan, since we had set a date of August 30!! Rob was working at DP Fitness, which was about to go out of business and I was a full time college student, so we didn’t have a ton of money. We were…

This is how I found Rob the other day when I came back into the room.

Continued from Part II. The first day I was in Auburn, Rob and I decided to walk to campus. We ended up over at the stadium, where it was open, because they were inside doing some cleaning. Rob talked me into going in, so we could go all the way up to the top to look out over campus. Needless to say, it was an awesome site to see. Jordan-Hare is much larger than Texas Tech’s stadium and it was a really beautiful view of campus. After coming down, as we were walking to the gate where we came in,…

Continued from Part I. So I was planning to visit Rob over spring break and I was moving to Auburn at the end of the semester. The catch was that my Grandparents, parents, and family knew nothing about this. Since they didn’t know I’d already been there once, I had to tell them that I was going there in March. I also had to wait until after I went so that I could say that I liked it there and have more to back up my plan. I went and visited over Spring Break. I had a great time, confirming…

I’ve been under a great deal of ‘work’ stress, so I haven’t been writing much. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking of things to write about. In fact, I found a great blog today, where JenMom does a beautiful job talking about her past. I had actually thought of lots of great things to write about that you don’t know about me, especially from my past. No I don’t have skeletons in my closet. It’s nothing like that. That leads me to tell you about Rob and I. I’ve only mentioned briefly to you that we met on AOL.…

Drew and I were headed to Hobby Lobby this evening to get stuff for his Pinewood Derby car. All of a sudden it wreaked of 9 year old gas! Him: *sniff-sniff-sniff*, What’s that smell? Me: *Chuckle, while rolling down the windows* You-woo farted. I’ll do what my dad used to do and we can play freeze out. Roll down on the windows when it’s freezing out. Gah! That stinks. Him: *in a squatting position* I can’t help it. I got the farts. Me: Squeeze your butt cheeks together when you fart. Helps it not smell so bad. That’s what I…

Where has the time gone? Drew is N I N E today! You don’t know how old that makes me feel. I’ve spent much of the day reflecting on this day 9 years ago. I look back and think how young and naive I was at the time, but SO didn’t realize it back then. I guess maybe when Alex turns 9, I’ll feel the same way about that time, too. Then… Now, here he is with his new pet that he got for his birthday.

Tomorrow is the weigh-in day for a weight loss challenge that most of my work is participating in. I’ve talked about this a little bit over on my other blog. The jist of it is, is that we each have to lose 14 lbs. by May. If each of the 4 teams members does that, we get our names entered to win $2,500 each. I won’t bore you with my goals and all that. If you’d like to know more, let me know and I can give you the link to my other blog, where I’ll hopefully be journaling how…
