So I did this post back in 2011! Cannot believe it’s been that long and really, I thought I had done this post more than once. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’
1. Me!
2020 has held lots of ups and downs for everybody including myself. I’m happy to have made it through the year without getting COVID (knock on wood) and having a good year working from home 9 out of 12 months. It’s pretty difficult to be a supervisor when you’re not in the same building. And of course, needed to post a picture wearing a mask. This was early on when I still wore the masks that tie in the back.
2. I Love You
I love my guys! They drive me mad, but they’ve got my heart. I also love Drew’s girlfriend, Caitlyn. She adds sanity to our craziness!
3. Still Laughing…
The mascot for the Atlanta Braves, Blooper, is always funny and quite entertaining. This was from Spring Training Trip over Spring Break.
4. Winter Wonderland
We didn’t have any ice or snow in 2020, so I was looking for a time a took a pic of the temp in my car. Our coldest temps were in December, when I wasn’t driving to work so that means no pics. This was from a chili day in January.
5. Birthday
Alex’s 16th Birthday happened while we were on Spring Break in Florida. Same trip as the Blooper pic above #3. This was right before everything was shut down.
6. Friends
This one was hard this year with all the physical distancing, we weren’t around friends much. Here’s a pic of Alex with friends in Boy Scouts. Post: December Court of Honor
7. I Was Inspired…
This is a Bokeh shot of our Auburn Tree.
8. Spring Fever
Our weather in 2020 was pretty remarkable. Our Spring was so perfect and it stayed cool much longer than usual. We went on lots of hikes and spent lots of time on our back deck with our new deck furniture. This is from one of our hikes. See the photo bomb?
9. Travel or Vacation
Didn’t get to travel this year like we had planned. This is from our little summer getaway. This was from our day trip to St. Augustine, FL.
10. Summer Days
My summer days were often filled with working and taking breaks to go look at the garden. This was from June before things really took off.
11. A Day In My Life
Some of my favorite moments of my day are when Alex and Kayleigh are playing on the floor.
12. All Smiles
This picture makes me smile for obvious reasons. I’m happy that Alex got his braces off early. Such a pretty smile.
13. Autumn Harvest
My very own September harvest!
14. Family or Home
4th of July mantel decorations with family pics on the wall.
15. Celebrate!
Celebrating Drew’s college graduation! Graduation Party with the Fam
16. Let’s Do It Again…
We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at Mike’s Steakhouse. Best steak ever! I’m ready! So good. Of course, I hope we can celebrate many more anniversaries, but it’s even better with a good steak!
17. I Miss You
Daisy left us a year ago yesterday. It was so difficult to say goodbye to the very best! Remembering Daisy
18. Beautiful
St. Simons Island is such a beautiful spot. St. Simons Island Trip – Part 1
19. Dress Up
On Christmas, Drew and Caitlyn were ‘dressed up’ in the Grinch onsies and the dogs had on their sweaters.
20. Macro
Beautiful close up of this flower
21. Holidays
Instead of showing the typical Christmas Tree shot or the family at Thanksgiving, I chose to show this picture of the beach from earlier this week. Rob and I are lucky to be off work when Alex is for the 2 weeks for Christmas. We don’t have to take vacation days around Christmas, which is such a gift.
22. My Favorite
I loved that I was able to get pics of Kayleigh in front of the tree. Just beautiful. I am so happy to have Kayleigh. While we can never replace Daisy, Kayleigh has helped fill the holes in our hearts. Post that talks about when we got Kayleigh
23. Don’t Ever Change
I got this picture of my youngest nephew this week when were on a mini vacation with him and his family. He was on quite a roll that night posing for the camera. I could have totally used this for #3 Still Laughing. He had us laughing so hard.
24. Just Because…
I chose this picture because I don’t think I’ve shown a picture of Katniss in this post. She’s so pretty.
25. Hopes and Dreams
This is one of my favorite quotes that I think correlates with one’s hopes and dreams. I often find myself scared to try things that are steps towards my hopes and dreams. This year I’m going to work on not letting that happen!
If you made it here to the end of the post, you rock!
This is such a fun post to put together. It requires that you think through the last year and look through your pictures. I would love for you to join with me by doing this post. If you do please share it below in the comments! Happy New Year!
Here’s the ‘rules’ of this post from Ashley: The beauty of Memories, Dreams and Reflections is that you don’t really have to photograph anything new, but share photos you’ve taken all year long. Want to join along? Here’s how:
1. Go through your 2020 archives and select photos that represent each prompt (or take a few new photos).
2. Feel free to write as much or as little about each prompt as you’d like.
3. Feel free to post more than one picture for each prompt if you think it’s necessary. If you don’t have a picture to represent the prompt, skip it…participate as much or as little as you’d like.
4. If you use any photos that are not your own, please provide a source.
5. Have fun!
Our spring was also very mild, which I’m thankful for. It allowed for lots of patio time. Hope you have a good week!
Could we get lucky enough to have that nice of a spring again?
These are great photos and a great look back at your year! I hope 2021 is off to a good start for you!
What a fun way to look back! Your #8 is a gorgeous shot! Love the little caterpillar!
Thank you! I was so excited to find the little guy as I started to take the picture.
