    Memories, Dreams, and Reflections 2011

    1. Me! In 2011, I was proud to finally get a job, that I love. Going from a temp employee to part of the full time staff is great. You already know everyone. You know how to do the job. It only gets better from here! 2. I Love You I love my boys and Daisy. I also love the background in this photo: Auburn, Toomer’s Oaks, and the tradition being illustrated here. 3. Still Laughing… I know I’ve got some funny pics, but for some reason, I can’t seem to remember what they are. So I chose this one…

    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 9

Today I’m thankful for the great Scouting program that we have here in Auburn. I’m very proud to say that my hubby, Rob is a huge reason that the pack that Alex is in is the biggest pack in Auburn and the best! 🙂 I’m thankful we have the opportunity to be able to fundraise to help, not only our fees for the year, but also the pack and the council. Drew uses his money for his fees to pay for all the camping trips through out the year. Many people when it comes time to narrowing down what activities…

    14 Years…Really?

Dear Rob, I just can’t believe it’s been 14 years since we tied the knot! I think back to through the years. It makes me happy to know that we’ve stuck through all the ups and downs through these years. What we’ve gone through in the last 4 years would be enough to test any relationship! For some, troubled times strengthens the marriage, for some it weakens the relationship, and for most, it breaks the relationship. During these troubled times, I’ve asked God, “Why me? Why us?” and as I sit and write this, I can say I think we’ve…

Lovin’ Life at Lake Martin 2011

Lake Martin is man-made; formed by the construction of Martin Dam on the Tallapoosa River. It spans across Alabama counties: Tallapoosa, Elmore and Coosa. A 44,000-acre lake with over 750 miles of beautifully wooded shoreline. Lake Martin is a great place to swim, boat, fish, water ski, and camp. It’s a great quick getaway for many Alabama residents, especially those in Auburn. Source With it only being about a 30 minute drive from our house, it makes for a great day trip. This year our friends invited us back to Lake Martin for a Memorial Day celebration. Some other friends…

    Happy 13th Anniversary!

I wanted to wish my wonderful husband a happy wedding anniversary! 13 years! Here’s a pic of us at our reception, before it started pouring down rain. Here’s an anniversary prayer I found recently. Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. To work that love into practical things so nothing can divide us. We ask for words both kind and loving, and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive. Dear Lord, we put our marriage into your hands. Amen.

Fall Family Camp with Cub Scouts

Back in October, we went with Pack 29 Cub Scouts to Family Camp. For those of you who don’t realize, Drew crossed over to Boy Scouts in April and Alex isn’t old enough to be in Cub Scouts. That means that Rob is a the Cubmaster while not having a son in the organization. That’s true dedication in my eyes! Totally! You should see the time he puts in to it. Anyway, so here’s some pics from our fun weekend. Our campgrounds Rob handing out bracelets to the cub scouts One of Drew’s friends who came with us to help…

    Carnival Triumph {7 Day Eastern Caribbean}

Back in March of 2008, Rob and I ventured out for our 6th cruise. It was very different from the previous 5 because we didn’t feel pressured to do everything or stick to a serious schedule. We just did what we wanted to and enjoyed it. We stayed up late most nights dancing the night away or singing along in the piano bar. Most cruises we push ourselves so hard during the day and we’re usually so exhausted it’s nearly impossible to stay up late. Something else that was different is that we left our house early Saturday, the day…

    Marriage

Ok, so many of you probably know that life has been rocky for me and well, the commitment that I made almost 11 years ago nearly came crumbling down in front of me. So much of it was my fault and mainly because I was not able to communicate and express what was bothering me. I guess like the counselor I saw said, I am the “textbook unhappy wife”. I won’t get into any details, but I’ve learned a lot in the last nearly 8 months or so. I learned that holding things in doesn’t help anyone, doesn’t do anyone…

    Valentine’s Day

So this year Rob and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day. We usually celebrate later on in the year. He went all out this year, from the concert, to the 3 bouquets of flowers, and candy. It was great. And yah, I know that was like months ago. Give me a break. I’m just trying to update you on all the things that have been going on since I’ve been MIA!

    Dating Log

Ok, so Rob and I started having “date night” back in December. We would go every other weekend and we would take turns planning it and usually it was a surprise. So I’m going to recap our dates and what we did… Dec. 8 – (planned by Rob) We went to see the ballet, Nutcracker, and ate a fancy restaurant called Dawson’s at Rose Hill Dec. 22 – (planned by me) I pre-purchased for the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It was the night after it premiered so I wanted to make sure it wasn’t sold out. After that…

Wedding and Honeymoon (The beginning Part IV)

Continued from Part III. Soon after I moved to Auburn I got a job working at Auburn City Hall. I worked there from May until September, when school started. In May of the next year (1997), we decided to get married. So the frenzy of planning of a wedding was underway. We only had about 3 months to plan, since we had set a date of August 30!! Rob was working at DP Fitness, which was about to go out of business and I was a full time college student, so we didn’t have a ton of money. We were…

My first day in Auburn (part III of the beginning)

Continued from Part II. The first day I was in Auburn, Rob and I decided to walk to campus. We ended up over at the stadium, where it was open, because they were inside doing some cleaning. Rob talked me into going in, so we could go all the way up to the top to look out over campus. Needless to say, it was an awesome site to see. Jordan-Hare is much larger than Texas Tech’s stadium and it was a really beautiful view of campus. After coming down, as we were walking to the gate where we came in,…
