Hey yall! It’s already time for another iSpy photo challenge. I was in the office this week training my new crew. This means I get home and am ready to collapse. Just so tired. Here’s how I saw the prompts through my lens. Parts So I think I struggled with this one the most. I had all sorts of ideas, but ended up thinking about all the parts that make up my shadow box. I’ve had all this since I was a kid. Hungry Here’s my dinner one night when I was very hungry! This was a minestrone type soup…

Today starts off our iSpy 2021 Photo Challenge #1! Did you decide to join along? If so, how did do this week? I can’t wait to go check out your iSpy captures. I struggled a bit with a couple of them, but with this being such a busy week I’m pretty happy with what I came up with. – Hello 2021! For this one, I had thought I would take a picture of a new calendar or something. I actually am still waiting for my new Aubie Calendar, so that was a no go. So I thought came up with…

So I did this post back in 2011! Cannot believe it’s been that long and really, I thought I had done this post more than once. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’ 1. Me! 2020 has held lots of ups and downs for everybody including myself. I’m happy to have made it through the year without getting COVID (knock on wood) and having a good year working from home 9 out of 12 months. It’s pretty difficult to be a supervisor when you’re not in…

I’ve been wanting to do some type of link-up for 2021. I’ve also wanted to get more creative with my photography. I had this desire 6 years ago, but didn’t stick with it. This year I don’t want this to happen. I know having others join me in the challenge will motivate me to keep it going! So here’s how its going to work. I want to look for the marvelous in the mundane. I don’t think it matters how great your photography is or what camera you use, you always have room for improvement in one way or another.…

Hey yall! Here is the final post of our Colorado/Wyoming trip from a few years ago. On our last day in Denver we visited the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheatre located about 16 miles from Denver in the little town of Morrison, CO as well as the nearby little town of Golden, CO. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a world-famous, open-air theatre used since 1941 that hosts many concerts and other events. The amphitheater was designed by Burnam Hoyt within the area between two massive slabs of Red stone (Ship Rock and Creation Rock). The elevation of the amphitheatre’s top row is…

Happy Travel Tuesday, ya’ll! I’m continuing to share from when Rob and I were in Colorado for a work conference. This was an epic day. Rob finished up with his conference that morning, we booked it over to Pikes Peak, which you can read about >>> Pros and Cons of Driving up Pikes Peak. Up until November 2017, you had the choice to drive or ride the Cog Railway up. However that have since been renovating the Cog Railway and it looks like it will open back up in 2021! More Sight Seeing in Colorado Springs, CO My camera (Canon…

Rob’s cousin, Tara, recently got married. We drove down to Spring Hill Florida, which is about an hour north of Tampa. She had a Medieval Fantasy Themed Wedding at the Nature Coast Botanical Garden. It was lots of fun. Tara worked her fingers to the bone, but did a great job of delegating help that weekend. If you also want to have this kind of wedding, then you may start inquiring for affordable all-inclusive wedding packages with options for wedding ballrooms. And for grooms who still don’t have any ideas what to wear on their wedding day, you may consider…

It’s Thursday, so I’m looking back at my New Year’s Resolutions. Today I’m getting real with one of my resolutions. #2…There are just some days that I can’t for one reason or another carry my big camera with me. In most situations, I at least have it in my car, but again, there’s just some places and times, I can’t or don’t feel like lugging it along. So with that being said, I think most of us these days have a decent camera phone. If you have an iPhone 5 or greater, they take really darn pics, considering. Today I’m…

I would love to start having featured pics each week. Anyway here are the 3 of my favorite pics from this week. Last Sunday we were in Gatlinburg. I’ll be working up a post for that trip, but here’s a picture I got of the skis. Monday as we headed out of town we stopped so the the guys could get some go-cart riding in. Here’s Alex! With the new year quickly approaching, I have so many blog entries to get wrapped up from this year. I am making headway on them. 🙂 I also have some New Year’s post to get done. With all that I’ve also been thinking about the 365 {photography} project. I was unsuccessful in finishing it out this year. Although, each year I get farther and farther into the year, which is good. Maybe that’s the reason I can’t give up on it. I’m curious if y’all plan to do another year of 365, well actually 2012 will be 366?? I did…

Today I had a family photo session with some of my friends. After getting done there, I made my way over to Town Creek Park, where I found some trees still with lots of gorgeous, vivid colors. I’ll just leave you with some of my favs. See the rest here.

…and lots of details just so I’ll remember them Here’s a collage of today’s wedding rehearsal. It was held at the Groom’s Parents house. I was very impressed by how Nikki and Chris started the rehearsal off. They thanked everyone for coming and Nikki went around and told everyone’s name. Then, Chris went expressed the need for everyone to get along and basically said that if you have something negative to say to keep your mouth shut! I loved it! The night went very smoothly and after all the details were mulled over and the walking was practiced….several times, we…

The other night I had one of those nights, where I just laid in bed and couldn’t stop tossing and turning and my mind was just flying and made it impossible to sleep. I for some reason got on the subject of the 365 project, trying to think of things to take pics of. I’ve tried doing the 365 project for the last several years and eventually I get burned out. I actually started coming up with ways to make it more exciting. I got up and started writing…. Experiment with lighting, focus, angle, aperture, bokeh, depth of field (DoF),…

Last Saturday I took a trip up to Atlanta for my first photo walk. We met up at Oakland Cemetery. It’s quite a large cemetery currently at 48 acres. There are several sections of the cemetery Original 6 acres, Confederate section, New Jewish section, Black section, and Potter’s field. I made it to 3 sections, I believe. I would really like to go back and see the areas that I missed. Front entrance. (If you ever go here, DO NOT park in the parking lot that sits near this sign. Park inside the cemetery. There were 2 people from our…

Original I did 5 or 6 edits of this photo, but I wanted to post something “out of the box.” So here you have it! This is a texture layer added to make it look like a strip of film. Not my favorite, but something different.

Original I really liked the shot for Fix-It Friday. I did a couple different versions. Which one do you like the best? 1 2 3 4

Yesterday I got home and Rob had been sitting on our balcony. He said thatDrew had made a discovery while looking for a ball, which was a nest full of baby cardinals. Today I was able to go out and find them again. Here they are. This is kind of hard to decipher, but I think they were turned over where you see wings. This morning when I went out Mama and Daddy were both near the nest when I opened the door. They quickly flew away when they heard me. Here’s Mama and the blur which is Dad. I…

This is my oldest niece, Arial. She’s peeking through the bars on the playground. She’s one of the few kids I’ve reminded to smile who didn’t give me that crazy, fake smile. I think her smile is precious, but maybe I’m just a bit bias. 🙂 Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest!
