Last weekend we installed a new cook top and oven. Here’s before and after:

I went into the Laundry room yesterday to get something and this is NOT what I was hoping to see! I nearly screamed out loud it was so big. Huge! Monsterous! Gigantic! Nasty! Soon after that I’m hoping he died from being drowned by bug spray. After some research, I found this: So it looks like this nasty thing was a Wolf Spider. Now I’m going to have nightmares about spiders!

I haven’t had a chance to write about last weekend. We headed up to Atlanta for the weekend. We stayed at The Westin Peachtree Plaza, which was lovely. The views from our room were awesome! We stayed really busy and got tons of walking in. Drew enjoyed playing in the Olympic rings of water at Centennial Park, while Alex moped after getting 16 drops of water on him. Here’s Drew standing in front of the Olympic rings. The tall cylindrical building in the background is our hotel, where we stayed. It was too bad I didn’t lose a couple pounds,…

Uh! Why don’t I learn my lesson! You can’t take paint that’s been sitting for a couple of years and expect it to actually match when you’re trying to make touch ups. I had this problem at the old house. Today I had the brilliant idea to find the old paint and do some “touch-ups.” The people who lived here before us had nearly 20 buckets of paint that they left, most of which are different shades of gray. I found the colors that I thought I needed, proceeded to stir each one up and then go make the touch-ups.…

My Mom says I haven’t been writing lately, which is true. I’ve been pretty quiet. I thought I’d write and make my Mom happy. 🙂 Everybody say, “Hi, Mom!” and root her on to comment on here. You can do it!! Anyway, Drew has been quite busy the last couple weeks. This week he’s going to Camp Invention during the day and Vacation Bible School in the evening. Last week he did Sports Academy Camp in the morning and Cub Scouts Twilight Camp in the afternoon. He’s ready to have time to relax and chill out. This weekend should be…

I used to love getting the chicken cordon bleu in the frozen section until I realized how much sodium they had. Really overall, just super unhealthy. I love being able to recreate something that I love making it the way I want to and that gives you the liberty of making it healthier. Chicken Cordon Bleu Servings: 4 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 35 minutes Ingredients: 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 6 slices Swiss cheese or Pepper Jack for some spiciness 4 slices cooked ham 1 egg 1 cup seasoned…

I think I’ve ran off my fan club. Haha! I know I haven’t been posting on a regular basis but many of you know things for me haven’t been great. The new house is wonderful and I have great neighbors. In fact, the boys played with the 2 boys next door and we ate dinner over there tonight. We had a really great time. If you’re reading this, Stef, THANKS!!!! It was nice to get away from the house and not think about unpacking and organizing and cleaning and everything else I’ve had to think about. We got bikes for…

I decided to actually write and let you know what I’ve been up to lately. I’ve been busy trying to unpack still and get stuff organized and put in it’s place. I’ve hardly been able to touch the playroom, which is still piled high in boxes. We’ve purchased a piece of contemporary furniture for the entry way. I think it looks really nice. We also did some landscaping and tree trimming work. Beswick Tree Service offers professional tree trimming services and more. Also, we had sod installed this past weekend and it looks so much better! I stumbled upon a…

I saw this meme over at Susie’s. Since I haven’t been absent from my little place here I figured this might be something fun to do and to let you know I’m still here. Like Stacy, I like the usual Chili’s, Red Lobster, etc, but I decided to do unique restaurants. These aren’t in any particular order just in the order that I think of. 1. Dante’s Down the Hatch in Atlanta. Fondue, very romantic, great jazz music, one of the most unique places you’ll ever go to. 2. Niffer’s Place in Auburn. Good food, good service, unique atmosphere, great…

For anyone who’s curious, I’m still here. We just got internet working at the new house yesterday. We’re in the process of getting unpacked and settled in. Thanks to everyone who helped us move! 🙂 Click below to see all the fun moving pics.

Tomorrow is the weigh-in day for a weight loss challenge that most of my work is participating in. I’ve talked about this a little bit over on my other blog. The jist of it is, is that we each have to lose 14 lbs. by May. If each of the 4 teams members does that, we get our names entered to win $2,500 each. I won’t bore you with my goals and all that. If you’d like to know more, let me know and I can give you the link to my other blog, where I’ll hopefully be journaling how…

I found a journal that I had to do in 7th grade. I’ll never forget my flamboyant, outspoken 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. Talbert. A couple days a week we had an assignment, where we had to write in our journals. Here’s the first assignment, which was entitled: My first day at Richland Junior High (typed without fixing errors) My first day at Richland Junior High was one of the most confusing days of my life. Remembering what room to go to next, what my next class was, etc. etc. made it more and more difficult. but I did enjoy…

This week’s Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is new. This is an Aubie ornament that I got last Christmas. Aubie is Auburn’s mascot.

As you can see Alex got his foot stuck Christmas Eve, while trying a new kind of cookie we had made for Santa. At first we tried to just squeeze it out. Then, we tried to take the back of the chair off. We were thinking we were going to have to break or saw part of the chair to get it out. But then I had him turn and get back on his knees and were able to squeeze it out. Just a little adventure before putting out the cookies for Santa and getting tucked in for the long…
