Over Christmas Break we went to New York City. This post covers the evening that we got there as well as our first full day. Wednesday, December 19th As soon as Alex got out of school, we booked it to Atlanta with a quick stop in Valley for lunch at Zen House. Our flight left at 5:50pm Eastern Time. Going through security went fast and we had time to kill, so we made our way to the international terminal and then made our way back in time to board our flight. We arrived at Laguardia at 10:50pm. We grabbed our…

PICS 1: Last Sunday at church was the children’s play with a Back to the Future Theme. It was so cool, they had a DeLorean out front for people to look at. 2: That afternoon my nieces played LaCrosse. 3: I’ve had a plan to purchase these Magnetic Spice Storage Tins for months, but I’m pretty thrifty, so everyone once in a while I’ll look on amazon. When I found them for about a $1 each, I jumped on it. I put them on the fridge and I love the way it turned out. I frees up counter space and…

What a wEeK it has been! Ups and down and highs and lows! I know the last few weeks have looked similar with pics of Drew in different arenas and things. I’m not sure I’m encapsulating my weeks fully, but I’m going the best I can trying to keep up. 🙂 PICS 1: The week started off with another huge win for Auburn’s Men’s Basketball Team against Kentucky to send them to the final four. However, after that game Drew is finished with pep band for the season. Even though our team rallied in OT to beat Kentucky and got…

I’m a day late posting this, but Sunday was crazy and yesterday I just couldn’t get it the post completed. It’s crazy how life gets in the way of my blogging. 😉 So here’s my weekly post about last week. Hope your week has gotten off to great start! PICS 1: Alex hanging out with Katniss. 2: I’m loving all the blooms this time of year. 3: Drew’s girlfriend, Caitlyn, is graduating in May and we got her invitation. This post snuck up on me. I can’t believe another month has gone by and looking back at last month’s post I feel in some ways very unproductive, but in other ways I’m amazed at what I accomplished last month. Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating Lasagna Chili with Cornbread Waffles I also have been cooking from some of my favorite food bloggers: Plain Chicken, Sally’s Baking Addiction, and Closet Cooking. What I’m Reminiscing About Our great trip over Spring Break and wishing I was still there. What I’m Loving I…

PICS 1: Alex had his first soccer game. He didn’t play in the fall because of marching band and I thought he played well for not having played in a while. 2: Last Sunday Auburn Men’s Basketball played Tennessee for the SEC Championship in Nashville, TN and won big! Drew is in the Pep Band that got to go. 3 & 6: As part of the selected Pep Band, Drew left on Tuesday and got to fly to Salt Lake City with the Men’s Basketball team for the NCAA March Madness Games. Since their game wasn’t till Thursday, they got…

For the last several years we have used our Spring Break to travel down to Florida to watch baseball during the Spring Training Season. Each year we try to see different ballparks as well as visit Rob’s Grandparents. The first Saturday of Spring Break, we got up at 3:30am and hit the road on our way to Lakeland, FL. We had a 1:00 game to get to at Joker Marchant Stadium, home of the Detroit Tigers. Detroit Tigers Joker Marchant Stadium Braves vs. Tigers (Lakeland) Home of the Tigers since 1966 Game Time: 1:05pm Opened: 1966 Renovated: 2017 Capacity: 9,000…

Since we were traveling last Monday, I’m a week behind, but I hope to get my Spring Break post up this week to get caught up. We will see. It’s so hard returning to reality after vacation. PICS – Alex had to submit his class selections for next year 10th grade, so the 3 of us piled up on my bed and hashed through it. – Around this time every year at work, the Education librarian puts up a special display of Juvenile/Young Adult award winners for that year. My student workers and I get to go through them all…

I’m super excited about it though. /reading/ I’m currently reading parts of books for my bible study, but I’m really anxious to read some of the Young Adult award winning books, such as The House of One Thousand Eyes and A Heart in a Body in the World /buying/ I love the gel highlighters. I had one at work and it ran out so I need to order more.…

PICS – Even thought it’s barely March it’s fun to see the blooms of plants and flowers. – Every Monday, Rob and I take a long lunch so we can go to handbell practice at church. Rob’s sister and mom play with in the same handbell choir with us. – Now that we have Panera in my building, grabbing an easy lunch there is tempting. On Wednesday, I got the Cuban. – I had a $25 off coupon from Zappos so I ordered these shoes. I love their look. I’m just not sure they fit like I want them too.…

In the last couple of years, I have quit writing posts to recap my week or month and while many of you might not find them interesting, I enjoy looking back through time and remembering what was going on. I think I’m going to start doing a weekly post on Mondays called “The Weekly.” I’ve seen this from some other bloggers and I kinda dig it. PICS – Every Monday when I drop Alex off at scouts I make the block and I see my building where I work on campus. It really looks cool at night. – Last week…

Continuing my posts from our D.C. trip. If you missed the last post about this trip you can click: SAAM & National Portrait Gallery DC After a good breakfast at the hotel, we took the Metro to Arlington Cemetery. This place gets me every time. Just the sheer number of white marble headstones is breathtaking. If you decide to visit Arlington Cemetery, be prepared to go through security similar to airport security to enter. We were there early so the line wasn’t long. We followed the signs first to the Kennedy Memorial. The Kennedy Memorial and burial site for John…

Here’s a quick run down of what we did in December. December started off with getting a Christmas tree the first weekend of the month. Drew performed his last concert with AU Cappella as the president. Drew and Rob flew to Baltimore, did some site-seeing, then went to pick up his friend, Joseph, from the Naval Academy. From there they drove to Philly for the Army-Navy Game the next day. Although it was quite cold they had a good time. While they were away, I took Alex to the Auburn Christmas Parade, where he got to march in a parade…

I enjoy reading other’s end of the year posts and well as going back and reading my end of year highlight posts. If you write an end of the year post, please comment below and share your link so I can see your post as well! If you’ve been following me for awhile you know my posts are usually photo heavy, but photos often evoke more memories than words, at least for me. Here’s a run down of the highlights from 2018! [January] The boys and Rob enjoyed a great annual ski trip to Gatlinburg with the Boy Scouts. Here’s…

Today I’m joining along with The Blended Blog (TBB) for some Christmas fun. I always enjoy writing posts like this so I can look back and see how my answers have changed through the years. 1. Candy Canes? Yes, while I’m not a huge candy cane fanatic, I enjoy one here and there. I like to decorate with them too. Santa usually puts some different flavors in our stockings. 2. Christmas Morning early riser or sleep in? You know when the kids were little we had to be early risers, because they were just too anxious to sleep in. The…

Once again I’m late getting this post up. So now that its December, here is your December Scripture-A-Week. I have been so busy the last month that I never got to share with you about why I’m so busy. Instead of continuing to say I’ll share it in another post, I’m just going to share it briefly here. I got a new job… It’s actually in the same department that I’m in, but it’s a promotion. It’s a lot more stress, but a lot more job satisfaction. And right now I’m doing 2 jobs, my old job and my new…

Here’s the next post about our DC trip. So if you remember from the last post, our boys flew in on Thursday night. Friday morning we got up, checked out of the Gaylord, and headed towards Annapolis, MD. We got into Annapolis, parked just outside of the Naval Academy, and made our way through security. We were in contact with Joe, Drew’s best friend (who you may remember from here or here) as he is a midshipmen at the Naval Academy. We seemed to get there just as class was letting out and we were able to meet up with…

So how are y’all? I’m honestly feeling stressed, but instead of worrying I’m trying to pray and read and study scripture. Being disciplined is so hard when life just takes over and you get your priorities out of wack. I love that these scriptures help remind me what is truly important. I hope to share some stuff that’s been going on with me soon, so keep an eye out for that. Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives…
