I just can’t seem to get into a groove of writing like I’d hoped. We’ve been busy buying for Christmas, planning the menu, etc! Oh the joys of CHRISTMAS! Anyway, I’m going to continue from my Part 1 post about decorations. A few years ago Rob’s parents added to my Clown collection with this adorable stocking holder. Up until last year we didn’t even have a mantel to put him on, so he sat up on the entertainment center with nothing hanging on him. We used to hang our stockings on our bannister seen here. I was so excited last…

So the other day, I talked about pulling out all the Christmas stuff and this year I really had time to reflect as I carefully unwrapped each item. I figured I’d start by talking about the things from my Paternal Grandparents. I’m sure I’ve talked about it before, but for anyone who’s new here, I’ll say it again. My Paternal Grandparents raised me. They were granted custody of me when I was about 3 or so. My weekends were split between home, mom, and dad. But…that’s a whole ‘nother blog or two. We’ll just leave it at the understatement that…

Last night I had a photo job at Lambda Chi during their Christmas party. Yes, compute that in your head…me…at a frat party! I will have to say it was GREAT! I had a blast. Yah, getting paid to take pictures is fun, but listening to the music (which rocked by the way), watching them dance and get a little crazy just made the night even greater. It totally brought back memories and it just made me smile. The attire for the night was crazy Christmas stuff, from Santa suits, to Rudolph, to red and green PJ’s and elf hats.…

I’m still in awe that it’s the Christmas season. A couple days ago Rob pulled down all the Christmas stuff. It’s amazing how our stuff seems to multiply every year. So today I did some cleaning and put out all the Christmas stuff out. It’s always a walk down memory lane as I unwrap all my stuff. I plan to taking a camera tour of all the Christmas stuff and tell the memories I have of each thing. Tomorrow we’re going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree and bring it home and decorate it. Every year…

Today after hours of slaving in the kitchen for tomorrow, I took a break to help the boys make these cute turkeys to share with everyone at Turkey Day tomorrow. Here are the ingredients, some of which we didn’t end up using. I would have taken step by step picture to show how we did it, but I was trying to keep the boys from wearing half the chocolate icing. 🙂

Last night we came up to my in-laws near Atlanta. We visited with them and had dinner. We spent the night and got up this morning and drove to Tucker, Ga for the Triumph Cup Tournament. Drew had a rough day and it was pretty cold. After the game this evening we went to Northlake Mall for a quick snack and then back to the hotel. We had delivery from Golden Sun and watched football. One game tomorrow before lunch and we’re headed home. I need to get busy editing from the last photo session I did and get that…

So yah, I haven’t been on here regularly….really in over a year. Life has had its major ups and down the last year and half. I’ve always believed that God only gives you what you can handle but sometimes I wonder! I’m not going to rehash everything, but I’m sure as I start writing more, more will come out. It’s not that I’m wanting to hide anything, just don’t want to bore you with details. What I will say is that in May I was laid off right before getting out for summer. Alabama has a serious problem with their…

I was tagged by Deanna. Six Random Things About Me: 1. I like Facebook more than Myspace now. 2. I’m eating peanut butter cookies and milk right now. 3. My 4 yo had his last soccer game tonight. 4. My Granny turns 80 next week. 5. I love milk. 6. I feel like I should elaborate more on these, but oh well. 🙂 Those interested to do this, go for it, and let me know.

I was looking on flickr at a couple Fall groups, which made me think of all the things I love about fall. I decided to start a list. Feel free to comment and add something about fall that you love, too 🙂 1. Candy Corn – not my fav candy, but I often buy them just so I can put them in a clear container for decoration. I guess I like the way they look more than the way they taste. 2. Fall Colors – orange, red, yellow, and brown 3. Cooler weather – It seems that in Alabama we…

Although I know I have tons of stuff to write about and play blog catch up, but I figured I’d quit writing about not writing. 🙂 And as time goes on I will try to catch you up on everything. Today Rob and the kids and I were planning to go to a pumpkin patch, but after some research, we realized it wasn’t open today. So we headed to the farmer’s market, where the kids picked out a large pumpkin and I took a couple of pictures, of course. I can’t believe how fast time is going by. It’s amazing…

Magnolia Mom has been silent for quite some time. I still read blogs, just don’t write on mine. I’d like to find a ‘new blog home’ someday, but for now I’m gonna stick here. Not sure how much I’ll write, but I just read an entry (blog now removed) and it just tugged at my heart. A brand new dad ships off to Afghanistan just a week after his son was born, only to die in combat not even a month later. This family needs your prayers.

This week’s Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is signs. Here’s a sign we saw while in Playa Del Carmen. Kind of scary!

Looking back through July pictures, I started thinking of the traditions that we’ve had. Back when Rob was in school, the weekend connected to 4th of July was really our only opportunity to go to Texas to visit my family. So we did that for several years, even after he graduated. This first picture is of Drew when he and I flew to Texas without Rob, because we were going for an extended stay. 2001 Here he is with my cousins at the lake. 2001 This is from 2002 when we went to Texas and spent a day at the…

We enjoyed a short trip to Gatlinburg. We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel. We spent a time in Ober Gatlinburg, at the Ripley’s Believe It Not Museum, and way above the city in the Space Needle. See more pics here.

Well, I’m quickly getting further and further behind on my writing here. I never got to write about the Bon Jovi & Daughtry Concert. I’ll have to say it was awesome concert. Sound quality was pretty flawless for Daughtry. When Bon Jovi came out the sound wasn’t as good, but wasn’t bad like many people we’ve seen. The bass wasn’t pumping. In fact there wasn’t hardly any bass! I didn’t enjoy the concert as much either because Philips Arena was HOT and just felt blah! I had wondered if this concert would top Def Leppard and the answer to that…
