It’s Thanksgiving we and I’m really glad. These days many people put up there Christmas trees after Halloween. Christmas music is being played on the radio and of course, you can’t go to a store with out being overwhelmed by Christmas decorations. My family still chooses to wait to decorate until the 1st week of December. Having a real Christmas tree, it’s really not a good idea to put it up until then. With all that being said, I still love and enjoy lots of things about Thanksgiving and the month of November should be a time to be thankful.…

Family Friday {Colonial Day} Since Alex is in 5th grade, it was the year to have Colonial Day. I bought Drew a Colonial Outfit back when he was in 5th grade and for him it was almost too small. So needless to say, I was concerned that Alex was too big for it. A couple nights before Colonial Day he tried it on and it fit! I was so happy. I love to see pics of the boys side-by-side at the same age.

This month I was happy about: being done with Thunder pics for another year. This month I was sad because of: of things I’d rather not talk about here. Something I accomplished this month was: making some big decisions about this blog.

Family Friday {At the Farm edition} A few weekends ago my family and I enjoyed part of our Saturday at our friend’s Tony farm. Most years we go and hang out with Mr. Tony. It’s always a fun-filled day. The guys work hard cutting up firewood to use in our fire places, but then are rewarded by getting to play, too! Caitlyn, Drew’s girlfriend came along too. She was not at all afraid to swing that maul. Mr. Tony’s has lots of pretty herding dogs. I love being out in the fresh air and Mr. Tony’s there’s always lots of…

How did Drew ask Caitlyn to homecoming? Drew and his beautiful date, Caitlyn, both looked amazing for Homecoming 2014 a few weeks ago. We met up with another couple that they were going to homecoming with for pictures at a hidden spot on campus that not too many people know about called Memorial Gardens.

Again, another month with no “Life Lately” update. So here we go. I am so far behind on updating yall on life. I’ve been so busy trying to pump out my weekly menus and new recipes that other stuff as fell by the way side. I decided for the month of October, there will be no Weekly Menus. I hope to resume those sometime in November.

Yesterday was a big birthday for me. I’ve entered my last year in my 30’s. **cringe!** My 40th birthday is in spitting distance. 🙁 So I decided to make a list of 40 things to accomplish this year. I plan to mark them off my list as I do them and may even write blog posts about many of them. So here they are…

Today is my Dad’s 62nd birthday. Although, he is not on Earth to celebrate it, I know he is cycling pain and care free in Heaven, then finishing up the day with a few beers. I may drink a couple myself for you, Dad. Cheers! In the mean time, I’ll be looking through pictures, enjoying the memories. Dad’s (Short) Journey with ALS

Fall is my favorite season, so I’m so happy that it’s finally official! I’ve enjoyed getting inspiration from boards on pinterest and bloggers sharing their fall bucket lists, like the one from Adventure Mom and Love of Life . Kids Activities blog also had a great list of things to do with family during the fall. I made a list of all the great things that I try to do every fall. So here’s my Fall Bucket List 2014. What’s on your list to do this fall?

At the end of the summer, Alex went to acolyte training at church. A few weeks ago, he and all the new acolytes were installed and recognized. He received his cross.

Today I’m sharing about our day at Turner Field watching our beloved Braves play. On Labor Day this year, we went to the Braves Game. It was a blistering hot day, but we managed to enjoy ourselves even though the Braves lost to the Phillies. We found our seats, which were great by the way. Then, we got up to go see if we were early enough to see the pep rally that they do out on the concourse.

This is a post that never got published from about year ago. This was an email I sent to my 2 bosses to let them what happened one evening at the Circulation Desk. Had a weird occurrence this evening, but wasn’t sure if it warranted an “incident report.”

I’ve read several blogs lately of people who are in long distance relationships. It got me thinking back to the relationships that I was in back in college that were long distance. I am happy to say that the last long distance relationship I was in ended up in marriage! 🙂 17 years strong! I thought I’d write a post about somethings that can make being a part a little easier as well as keeping each of you in check. I’ll have to preface this by saying that I am a bit envious, as the internet was in it’s infancy…

Yes, there was a time when my teenage son did not procrastinate. School started and some of my friends who have kids in high school, reminded me that homecoming this year is early. They mentioned that they were urging their sons to figure out who they were going to ask and go ahead and git er done (as we say in the South.)

Happy Anniversary, Rob! Today Rob and I are celebrating 17 years of marital bliss! I couldn’t be happier to have spent this time with him through all the trials and tribulations that life brings. I know that we together work to keep a strong relationship with our Lord and Savior and in that we grow closer together as a couple. I love you, Rob and I look forward to seeing what the next 17 years has in store for us. 😉

Dear Dad, Dad, I know you’re watching from Heavens above. That brings me comfort. Today I am home by myself getting some work done, 80’s music blaring in the back ground. You know 80’s music is by far my favorite music of all time. Now that you’re gone, though, sometimes it’s hard to listen to certain songs without just tearing up. And well sometimes just absolutely breaking down into tears like today. Memories of spending weekends with you, running errands, watching you talk on your bag phone back when having a bag phone was cool. I mean a “cell” phone…
