    Wednesday – Wedding Week

    I’m doing a day by day recap for part of Wedding Week. So here we go… Wednesday, I only worked for a couple hours. I was feeling overwhelmed at all I had left to do before Thursday, which was the day we were set to start decorating the reception hall. Alex came over that afternoon to meet up with one of the grooms men’s mom who was dropping stuff off for the lake house, which is where Drew, and Alex and several of the grooms men were going that night for the bachelor party Wednesday and Thursday. We also cleared…

    Week 7::2023

    Feb. 13-19, 2023 happenings!! Monday Chili morning and cool milage number I landed on. Rob and I were frantically trying to get people to RSVP for the wedding so we could place the order for food for the reception. Tuesday Lunch at Moe’s BBQ I think I’ve said this recently, but the sunset skies have been spectacular lately. Wednesday I went to bed Tuesday night feeling like I was getting sick, so when I woke up Wednesday morning with a terrible sore throat and a pounding headache I knew I was in for a rough couple days. However, with wedding…

    Week 6::2023

    Here’s my (Feb. 6-12, 2023) highlights. Tuesday Tuesday during lunch, I had to run across campus for the Auburn ‘made’ honey for the welcome gift bags for hotel guest. Thursday Thursday morning we woke up to a weird color in the sky that casted down on everything. I tried to get a picture of it. You can kind of see there’s a oranginess to everything. It’s that weirdness you see sometimes before a storm rolls through. I’ve been feeling super lethargic and just more tired than usual. I’ve also felt like my blood pressure has been running high, but its…

    Week 5::2023

    Wowzas, yall! Another week down. Here’s my (Jan. 31-Feb. 5, 2023) highlights… Monday I came home from work to find a bunch of packages. My neighbor across the street was like you must be Amazon’s favorite customer. I was like, well we got a wedding coming up so that’s what all this is for. Katniss hasn’t laid on my bed in awhile, but she made her way back to her spot early this week. Wednesday Alex and Madison came to hang out before they went to the basketball game. Thursday Alex and Madison came over to hang out with me.…

    Bridal Brunch

    A couple weeks ago 4 of my dear friends threw a Bridal Brunch for Caitlyn. I am so thankful for good friends. Her Matron Honor has been so good to her. She got her these “Mrs” earrings. Here she is with her Bridal Party. All the details were perfect So much good food, which was almost exclusively gluten free! Her matron of honor did an amazing jobs with the 3 games we played. She really enjoyed opening all the gifts even with all the eyes on her. Caitlyn with her Gramma and Drew’s Gramma Friends from Atlanta My sweet friends…

    Week 4::2023

    Hey yall! Here’s my (Jan. 23-30, 2023) highlights… Monday, Rob and I took a day to go to Montgomery to see my Fibromaylgia doctor. He was so happy with my how my health journey has gone since the last visit. Exercise, less sugar, less gluten, less carbs. He told me to go tell all my friends that this is key to being healthy not meds. He had them draw blood to check electrolytes and a couple other things. After my appointment we went to brunch at the Bubbly Hen I got the 3 meat Fritata with asparagus. Rob got the…

    Week 3::2023

    With last week (Jan. 16-22, 2023) starting off with a holiday on Monday, those weeks often are the slowest weeks ever. I was happy that it seemed more normal and didn’t drag and drag. Our week started off with having the day off. Rob, Caitlyn, and I met at Amsterdam Cafe for our tasting. This where we’re having the rehearsal dinner. We’ve eaten there many times, but they offered this to help us determine what exactly we want to offer that night. We tried the salmon dip, fillet mignon, Rosemary fingerling potatoes, pork chop, and bread pudding. The sky one…

    Week 2::2023

    I can’t decide if January is flying by or not. Here we are for Week 2 highlights (Jan. 9-15, 2023). At work we usually do a yearly department photo around Christmas, but we all had differing schedules. We ended up having to do the Monday we came back to work after being off 2 weeks. I showed up in a tshirt and sweatpants, because I forgot. At lunch I went home and got picture ready. My Sunday School class (which we joined at last fall) tries to do a monthly Women’s dinner. We went to El Ranchero. It was a…

    Week 1::2023

    I have wanted to get back to writing weekly posts for quite awhile now. I just haven’t been able to put that routine back into place. As mentioned before, I’ve been super occupied with wedding planning and life in general, so I haven’t been able to sit down and think about how I want to write these each week. I’ve also wanted to set long and short term goals, but honestly I can’t really wrap my brain around all that till after this wedding. So for now here are the highlights of the 1st week (Jan. 1-9th). We started the…

    Monthly Digest – December 2022

    LIFE Happenings So December is always a busy time, but this December was even more action packed that I would prefer. Started off with a mammogram. Love the cute, pink shirts they have instead of the typical hospital gown. We have a new branch hospital in Auburn, which is where they have the Breast Health Center. This is where they do mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, etc. I was very happy to get an clear letter in the mail the week after. Rob, his brother, Nick, and I went to the Gouge Performing Arts Center to see Post Modern Jukebox (PMJ). This…

    Memories, Dreams, and Reflections 2022

    Happy New Year, Yall! Here we are another year down. No truer words were said than the days are long, but the years are fast. This post shares my memories, dreams, and reflections from this year. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’ 1. Me!   2. I Love You My family at Thanksgiving. 3. Still Laughing… Lots of laughs this year, which is never a bad thing! The Dolphin experience in Blue Lagoon Island near Nassau Bahamas was so fun. This made us laugh! Caitlyn’s face…

    2022 Niece & Nephew Outing

    This year Rob and I decided instead of trying to buy our nieces and nephews stuff for Christmas, we’d go in with Rob’s brother and start taking them on an outing. We took a trip to Birmingham for the day. First stop was donuts in Childersburg that we ate in the car. Then, we got to McWane Center, which is a science museum and research archive located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The state-of-the-art hands-on science center, aquarium, and 250-seat IMAX Dome Theater is housed in the historic and refurbished Loveman’s department store building. If you’ve been around the blog a…

    Christmas Day 2022

    Christmas Day we had a set time for the boys to come over. Alex had spent the night over and Drew’s on Christmas Eve. We started the morning as always with Apple Dumplins’, Sausage Balls, and store bought Cinnamon Rolls (for Alex). Then we took our family pics as always. So my big Christmas present was this. A piece of paper that said I have tickets for a Katy Perry concert in Vegas in April!! So excited!! This is from Alex. A Dainty Necklace duo that I will treasure forever. Drew and Caitlyn got me a really nice Dutch oven…

    Leading up to Christmas 2022

    This Christmas season was had many differences for us. I felt behind pretty much until Christmas Day. What got me behind is that I was in charge of a big party for our scout troop, which occurred on Dec. 15th. We did get our house decorated early December, which was good. However, usually the week before I get out of work, I get all my treat making/baking done and we do a good bit of our shopping, but that was the week of the party. So none of that happened then. So the week before Christmas, my anxiety took over…

    Monthly Digest – November 2022

    November was actually a long month for me, but then again I still can’t believe it’s almost December. It’s the Christmas season and I’m just not sure I’m ready for that. LIFE Happenings We had our yearly crawl space inspection and its a good thing because the pipe coming from our kitchen sink had a huge hole in it. Perhaps professionals, who may know the cost to jet sewer line, can fix that. This meant that everything from the sink including all the stuff from the disposal was emptying out into the crawl space. Yuck! Luckily we were able to…

    Thanksgiving 2022

    This year Thanksgiving was different. Rob’s mom and step dad went to Florida. Rob’s sister had all her in-laws at their house. With all that info, we just decided to do our own Thanksgiving at our house with just the boys and their dates, as well as Rob’s brother. I cooked all the sides and some things didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked, but it was a year of trying to make everything Gluten Free for Caitlyn and making some things these low carb for me. Nothing was uneditable. Thank goodness. Rob’s deep fried turkey was…

    Double Date in Atlanta

    This past weekend Drew had planned a date day for he and Caitlyn. We ended up tagging along as we thought we were going to be doing some wedding stuff that day up in Atlanta, but ended up not having to. It was a surprise for me and Caitlyn. All we knew was dress comfy-cute, having brunch before the main ‘thing’ and just seeing where the day took us after that. Caitlyn chose Egg Harbor Cafe for brunch. There was a wait, but our food came out super fast and it was delicious. They have a good gluten free menu.…

    A Sad Goodbye

    I mentioned we had to go out of town for a funeral. I had started writing details about what happened, but really this isn’t my story to share. What I will share is that Drew’s fiance’s mom passed away. At 47… It wasn’t a surprise. She’s been sick for years. It was still the saddest thing. During our time down in Florida, I had 2 new experiences. 1. I witnessed someone on their death bed. That is hard. The beautiful thing that I witnessed, however, was getting to see Drew comfort Caitlyn as she sat there and watched her mom…

    October 2022 Monthly Musings-Thanksgiving Prep

    Today I’m linking up for Monthly Musings for October with Patty & Holly. 1. Do you host Thanksgiving or go somewhere else? I typically do not host. We either go to my mother-in-law’s or my sister-in-law’s depending on who’s in town. Sometimes my in-laws go visit other family for Thanksgiving. This is a pic of my sis-in-law’s kitchen from last year. 2. What dishes do you make or contribute? Everyone always wants me to make my Praline Sweet Potatoes. A couple years ago no one was bringing dressing or gravy so I decided to try a new dressing. This Andouille…
