    Spring Training 2020

Earlier this month, before the Corona Virus became such a big deal in the U.S. we left work on Friday and drove down to Bushnell, Florida. We stayed at the Roadway Inn. Rob had enough Choice Hotel Points that we could stay for free. Saturday we got up and grabbed some packaged breakfast novelties and drove 2 more hours down to North Port. Since it was Alex’s birthday, he got to choose where to eat. We ended up at Bocca Lupos Pizza. They have one in the West Villages, which is just about mile from the new Braves Stadium where…

    What’s Up Wednesday – March 2020

Well here we are again finishing up another month. Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating Well since we’ve been all at home more or less I’ve been even more on top of menu planning, because I’m planning not only dinner like I usually do, but also lunches. With all the social distancing, we stopped eating out even before our state closed all restaurants except for drive thrus and take out orders. I’ve been using not only my recipes, but also Show Me the Yummy, Wholesome Recipe Box, Damn Delicious, Simply Happy…

    Corona Bucket List

image It looks like we’re going to be having a lot of time at home because of the Corona Virus Pandemic. On March 17th, we started working from home. We also got word that the public schools will extend their Spring Break through April 10th. That’s when our work from home time is supposed to end as well. With all this “at-home-ness” happening, I hope to be able to get some stuff done that I typically wouldn’t have time for so, I decided to make a Corona Virus Shelter-in-Place Bucket List. Do a puzzle. Watch a good movie. Play a…

I just started listening to it and I think it’s going to be very interesting. /borrowing/ Hmm…borrowing? I don’t think I’m borrowing anything right now. /feeling/ I’m honestly feeling drained and burnt out. I’m tired of being in pain every evening and not being able to get a lot accomplished. /recommending/ I’m recommending watching Roots & Refuge Youtube channel if you’re interested in homesteading, farming, gardening, etc. Jess…

PICS – Even thought it’s barely March it’s fun to see the blooms of plants and flowers. – Every Monday, Rob and I take a long lunch so we can go to handbell practice at church. Rob’s sister and mom play with in the same handbell choir with us. – Now that we have Panera in my building, grabbing an easy lunch there is tempting. Spring Training 2018

Earlier this month we ventured back down to Florida for another Spring Training trip. This year we went to 3 parks; two of which we have not been to. Here’s a quick rundown of each place and tons of pics! We left Auburn after work on Friday and got to Rob’s Gramma’s house in Spring Hill, FL. We popped out of bed to visit and make an early exit to head to our first game in Fort Myers. Once we got to For Myers, we went by the hotel and could not check in yet. We went over to the…

    Peach Cobbler Muffin Bites

Recently I needed to bring something for a potluck breakfast. I wanted something new and different. I came up with these Peach Cobbler Muffin Bites. While it’s not quite peach season around here, I’m happy to come up with a recipe that can use canned peaches that way we can enjoy peachy goodness all year long! When May rolls around, I want to try this recipe with real peaches and make that an option in the recipe. So keep an eye out for that update. These are great to make ahead or even freeze ahead. Peach Cobbler Muffin Bites are…

So here’s the list of things I’d like to do before Spring is over. Take pictures of Cherry Blossoms Shop at a farmer’s market Take Daisy for a walk Go to a museum Decorate for Spring Find a four leaf clover Go to a Spring Training game Do…

    March Scripture-A-Week

How’s is going so far for February’s Scripture-A-Week? If you’re not familiar with how Scripture-A-Week works check out my post here. I’ll have to say I started off great! I had my scriptures written in several places the first few weeks. I put it in my car, on the fridge, on the bathroom mirror. I was rocking it! Then, life got busier and by Thursday one of the weeks, I realized I hadn’t started or even thought about my scripture. So this goal is like anything else, you have to make time for it in your daily schedule. I start…

    West Coast Trip:Day 7

On our 7th day West Coast adventure, we got up and checked out of the cabin. We drove up to Crater Lake Lodge, which was built in 1915 and is listed as in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Beautiful log cabin feel with gorgeous views of Crater Lake. We enjoyed the view a little more, but since we saw most of what there was to see the day before at Crater Lake we ended up not staying as long as first planned. We continued on our journey north as we drove to Cottage Grove, but made several stops…

    West Coast Trip: Crater Lake

On our 6th day of adventures on the West Coast, we got up and left Eureka and continued north towards Crater Lake. We made a quick stop at Thomas H. Kuchel Visitor Center in Orick, CA. We used the bathroom and took a quick peek inside. They have an informational desk, exhibits, bookstore, etc. We enjoyed walking out back where there’s a boardwalk to the shore and some informative signs about Tsunamis among other things. There was a cool bird’s nest we observed as well. We later stopped in Cave Junction, Oregon for lunch at a Dairy Queen. Then, we…

It’s always interesting to visit new spring training ballparks as they are all different for better or worse. Wednesday, we left after work and drove to Rob’s Gramma’s house in Spring Hill, Fl. We got there in the middle of the night and went straight to sleep. The next morning we visited a bit and then got on the road to Sarasota. We checked into the hotel (Ramanda). This hotel is located on…

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

Recently we went to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, since they are calling it quits. We drove up to Duluth, GA. If you’re planning to attend in these last few weeks, I highly recommend you get there for the Preshow that starts an hour before the circus starts. You get to go down on the floor watch and interact with the performers. Here’s several shots I got from the floor. We took a quick restroom break before the show started and then went to find our seats. This guy was hanging out near the restroom. Spectacular beginning…
