    Monthly Digest – May 2022

LIFE Happenings Basically we’ve been party animals in May, and I’m exhausted! haha Our good family friend’s son (who is also a good friend of our son, Drew) got married. Alex graduated! Drew bought a house and we threw him a housewarming party. Loving that May is over! Ha! Happy it’s summer. Excited to hopefully be done with year end performance reviews in the next week. Writing these are tedious and a bit aggravating with the new form we have to use this year. Dreading Alex possibly having his wisdom teeth out this month. Reminiscing about our Drew’s epic graduation…

    Big News!!

I’ve hinted around that my older son, Drew, has been doing some major ‘adulting’ lately. He bought a house! So exciting! He finally got the keys the Sunday before Memorial Day. We decided that since family would in town for Alex’s graduation that this would be great timing to go ahead and throw a housewarming party. Read along to find out how it went… We had quite the spread of food Lots of family and friends After allowing time to make sure everyone was there, we had the 3 grandfathers come up one by one and give advice and a…

    Graduation Week 2022

I have so much to catch up on. May was a whirlwind especially the last 2 weeks. Today I’m recapping the fun week with Alex and his graduation activities. Senior Recognition The Sunday before graduation our church held their annual Senior Recognition. Back when Drew did it they did it during one of our church services. However, now they do a separate service in the afternoon. Here’s Alex and a couple friends signing the photo maps for each senior. This is the photo that went in the frame. Alex is in the back row: center left with glasses. Then they…

Carnival Horizon 2022 – La Romana

Here’s probably my favorite day off the Carnival Horizon. The day we were in La Romana, Dominican Republic we got there around a 11, so we had time in the morning to go to ‘sit down’ breakfast. It was nice to not have to get up super early and just be able to go a little slower that morning. Here we are waiting for clearance to get off the ship. We were all excited for an excursion day. No renting a car in the D.R.!! The excursion was called Monkeyland & Dominican Flavors for Families. We loaded an air-conditioned bus…

    Books I Read – April 2022

Last month, I wasn’t thrilled with the books I read. It’s just crazy how I can be so enamored by a cover or a 2 sentence description and then as I read I feel really disconnected with the characters and/or the story line. Admittedly I’m bad about going into a book blindly without doing too much research, because I don’t want any spoilers. Also, since trying to start reading again, I find I’m having a hard time rating books. I’m not sure what justifies the top rating of 5 at this point. I don’t fee like I’ve read a 5…

Carnival Horizon 2022 – Afternoon in Aruba

Today I’m sharing my final post about Aruba for this cruise and there is still a lot to cover so its gonna be long. 🙂 After leaving Arikok National Park, it was time to plug my phone into the radio so we could follow along with the app I had purchased and listen to descriptions of places to drive by or stop at. We have used the GyPSy Guide app before while traveling and loved it. However they don’t have one for Aruba, so after some research we decided on the Action Tour Guide Aruba (The Full tour).
