Arrow of Light award is the highest award in Cub Scouts earned by Webelos. Part of the requirements to earn this award is to help them choose which boy scout troop they would like to cross over to as well the Scout badge, which will be warn on their new boy scout uniform in the spot where they put their rank. We’re so very proud of Drew for earning this award and even happier that he’s chosen to crossover to boy scouts. He will be in Troop 15. We have our ceremony on the property of one of our scouts…

We woke up to beautiful blankets of snow today. See more here.

I just can’t seem to get in a groove of blogging. Well…if I think about it, I really can’t get into a groove of anything! If that makes any sense! Anyway, today I’m gearing up for NINE 10 and 11 year old boys to come over and celebrate with Drew. We did it last year and it wasn’t too bad except for the noise of the air hockey table at 4 am! 🙂 I had planned on a full update, but time is ticking and he will be home with one party goer that is walking home with him….lateh!

Today Drew is ELEVEN. I had to type that out to help it sink in. I just can’t believe it’s been that long. With this age comes a lot of change. He’ll transition into middle school in August for 6th grade. He’ll move up to boy scouts in May. In fact, he’s not able to have his birthday party tonight because he’s at a camping trip with the boy scout troop he plans to join. So we’ll have a house full of boys next Friday night. Thinking back to this last year in the life of Drew, he’s really made…

Well I had written Drew’s birthday entry a couple days ago and you’ll see it in a few hours, but since I’m up and I was reading about Harper and Brayden and I couldn’t help but think back to this time 11 years ago. Wow! I get tears in my eyes thinking about it. No not because of the thoughts of the pain, but just thinking about how awesome it all was. After he was born, I remember the feelings that I had. From the day I visited my gynecology specialist who is a professional and has completed obgyn board…

The few days that Drew had off before Christmas we enjoyed some of our traditions that we try to make time for every year. One of which is making a Gingerbread House. Last year, we didn’t get to it. This year I stepped back and tried to let the kids do as much as possible. Enjoy the pictures:

Last night we came up to my in-laws near Atlanta. We visited with them and had dinner. We spent the night and got up this morning and drove to Tucker, Ga for the Triumph Cup Tournament. Drew had a rough day and it was pretty cold. After the game this evening we went to Northlake Mall for a quick snack and then back to the hotel. We had delivery from Golden Sun and watched football. One game tomorrow before lunch and we’re headed home. I need to get busy editing from the last photo session I did and get that…

I came home today and noticed Drew had added character to his jeans. Not on purpose of course. 😉 You know you can’t have boys with out having holy jeans!

Drew has a mini-tournament in Birmingham today. It SNOWED on us on our way up there. Nice! LOL! It was in the 30’s and we froze. We played the #1 in the state and the other 2 were in the top 10 of the state. We tied against the #1 and the other 2 we lost. Drew got his first goal today and it was very exciting! Pics later:)

Where has the time gone? So ever since Drew had a birthday back in January, Alex started saying, “Drew is 10 and I’m almost 4.” As time escapes us, he now started deleting the “almost” part and announces to everyone that he is 4. Needless to say his birthday is a week from today. Where have the last few years gone? It seems like yesterday I was so ready to get that baby out. Thinking of ways to put myself in labor, so I could meet that little boy that was growing inside of me. And now I try to…

Drew was excited to finally get a Nintendo DS! It’s written all over his face. Still can’t believe it’s been 10 years already.

Drew is 10 today! He’ll never be a single digit age again! His life in pictures… (not in any order) See all of my birthday posts here.

Drew was honored to be asked to be a player on the Auburn Thunder Travel Soccer Team this spring. Normally you have to pay and go through try-outs, but the coach of the team called Friday night. He said he had seen Drew play and has seen his competitive nature, skills, and speed. We sat down as a family last night and discussed it and he was very excited to hear about the invitation. He, of course, said he wanted to do it. After having several seasons of rec league soccer, where kids don’t take it very seriously and don’t…

Well we survived the sleep over. It went great. I think they all had a great time. Lights out was at 2 am, but that didn’t stop many of them from staying up ALL NIGHT! So they were all zonked this morning when I was cooking homemade waffles and bacon. Rob and I got a couple hours of sleep. I’m thinking I’m going to head off to take a nap here in a few. You can see pics here!

How can my older son be turning 10 already? Where has the time gone? On Wednesday the 23rd, Drew will be TEN!!! He’s got 7 boys over tonight for a sleep over. No I’m not insane, but I might be by the morning! LOL! I had a mushy post to write about the 10 years he’s been on Earth, but I’m not going with that right now. Maybe later when I don’t have 8 hollering boys downstairs, playing air hockey, and playing video games.

Here’s a pic of the elated Drew with his precious pet, who has been eating like crazy since we brought him home.
-
I called this morning to check on Oreo and they said he was eating and jumping around. Yesterday he wouldn’t move hardly at all and just laid out. They said the doc wasn’t in yet, but they’d call me later. I just got the call and he’s fine, needs some meds for a few days. I’m just so thankful. Drew and I just cried till our eyes were puffy before I left to take Oreo. He just kept saying, “Momma, don’t let him die.” It’s so hard to see your child in such grief stricken pain. In an hour when…

Drew called me while I was driving home, saying he thought Oreo (his rabbit) was dead. He was crying and it was very traumatic. I got home and looked at him and saw that he was probably not going to make it, but I would take him to the vet. I was praying they could do something to help. Drew got the rabbit for his 9th birthday back in January, so we haven’t had him that long. It’s Drew’s first pet that is just HIS, not a family pet. Drew couldn’t go with me to the vet because he had…

14! Yes, that’s my older boy. Drew is such a teenager already. He’s got the attitude, the eye-rolling, the moodiness, and he’s nearing the hormone surges. He watches shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Zoey 101 (who he’s in love with), and Drake and Josh (which is my favorite of the 3). He’s wearing deodorant and is to the point where he needs to learn to wash his face and start using products like Noxema and Cleaaisil. Oh, I can smell it now… This is something I’ve been wanting to write about all summer, but tonight we…

Well, I was trying to think what came after the wedding and well it was pretty much a baby! I found out I was pregnant at 5 months!! I was on the bc pill and just had no idea until I started feeling movement and my tummy was getting big and hard. Yes, it was quite scary. Twenty-two, newly married, in college, and pregnant! It definitely could have been worse. I do realize that, but calling the family to let them know that we were expecting was pretty nerve-racking. Everyone approved and it’s not like anything was going to change,…
