I can’t believe we are already almost half way done with this year and it’s already June! What? The end of the school year is always so busy, so it’s over in a blink. This month I was happy about: that Alex is done with elementary school! I loved the first elementary school that he and Drew went to, but then the district decided to have sister schools. This is where they have K-2 at one school and 3-5 at the sister school. This happened with Alex was going into 4th grade, so he had to attend the new school…

A few months ago, Rob and I were in Atlanta for a few days. He was at a work conference so I was on my own during the day. I was excited that we were staying in Midtown, because I knew I wasn’t far from Piedmont Park. Piedmont Park Atlanta, GA is the Central Park of Atlanta; just not nearly as big, it’s still a really cool place. It’s nestled just a couple miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. The park runs along 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue in Midtown Atlanta. 5 Things to See at Piedmont Park Atlanta, GA One…

Over MLK weekend we went up to Blue Ridge, Ga with our friends the “S” family. We left Friday night after loading up the car. We arrived about 9ish, just in time to set up our air mattresses and hope in. Saturday morning we awoke to Mr. S cooking bacon. Rob got up and started cranking out waffles. After that we got dressed. The Drew went outside to see our dogs playing with the beautiful husky, Beckham, from up the hill who came to say hi. Once we packed the coolers for the day, we loaded up and headed to…

School finally started today! It was supposed to start 2 weeks ago, but just before school was out our state legislature decided to mandate schools to start later this year. For years they’ve been talking about forcing schools to start after Aug. 20th, because “it’s hurting our beach tourism.” Anyway, we were all happy for school to be back in session. I was real happy with the teacher that Alex got. Drew had Mrs. S for 3rd grade, so I was happy that Alex got her too! I think it’s going to be a great year. We had a good…

Here’s the cabin, we stayed in for the 4th of July trip this year. It was hands down the nicest and biggest cabin we’ve stayed in. It’s a 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath with a large playroom on the bottom floor complete with games, foosball, and air hockey. Sleeps 9-10. It’s located in Blairsville, Georgia, which is just the location we’ve been trying to stay in since we started this tradition. The views from the cabin are amazing, but I’ll warn you that when you turn on the the street where the cabin is located it’s extremely steep; To say…

Last weekend we were up in Decatur, AL, we made a quick trip up to Ethridge, TN to visit the Amish community that Rob had heard about. We did it on a bit of whim after putting gas in the car, so we did not know exactly where to go. We followed the signs to the Lawrenceburg Visitor Center until had driven all the way through to Ethridge. We ended up seeing this sign, where we turned down a dirt road that dead ended to a quaint house and shop building. As we got close to the house a young…

These are ewy-gooey and oh so yummy! My hubby said they are probably the best thing he’s ever tasted! Servings: 8 Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Ingredients: 1 can crescent rolls 2 granny smith apples 3/4 stick butter ½ teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar 1/3 cup of sugar 1/4 cup of Mountain Dew or Sprite Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel apples and cut in to small bite size pieces. Spray 9×13 pan (or any semi-deep baking pan) with non-stick spray. I had some extra apple pieces, so I just sprinkled those on…

This past weekend we drove to Clinton, MS, after a cub scouting event. We didn’t get out of town till nearly 9 pm, so we got in about 1:30 am. We had to rise and shine very early for Drew’s first game which started at 8, meaning he had to be there at 7:15 and it was about a 30 minute drive into Jackson. We stayed with one of Rob’s cousins and her hubby. We haven’t seen them in quite some time, so it was great to see them. Rob’s Aunt and Uncle and Dad and Step Mom drove over…

On the way to Atlanta tonight, from the 4 year olds: Alex: Mom, squirrels climb trees. Alex: Do squirrels pee? Me: Yes, all animals pee. Alex: Do dogs pee? Me: Yes, ALL animals pee! Alex: Do bears pee? Me: Yes, ALL animals pee! Alex: Do bears pooh? Me: Yes, ALL animals pee and poop! The conversation continued on and on! It started off really funny, but it got old after awhile.

I came home today and noticed Drew had added character to his jeans. Not on purpose of course. 😉 You know you can’t have boys with out having holy jeans!

So this year Rob and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day. We usually celebrate later on in the year. He went all out this year, from the concert, to the 3 bouquets of flowers, and candy. It was great. And yah, I know that was like months ago. Give me a break. I’m just trying to update you on all the things that have been going on since I’ve been MIA!

For Valentine’s Day, Rob took me to see Van Halen the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. It was a surprise and I thought it was so sweet of him to think of that. Before the concert, we ate at Ted’s Montana Grill and it was really good. The opening act was kind of an odd choice, Ky-Mani Marley. Setlist 01. You Really Got Me 02. I’m the One 03. Runnin’ With the Devil 04. Romeo Delight 05. Somebody Get Me a Doctor 06. Beautiful Girls 07. Dance the Night Away 08. Atomic Punk 09. Everybody Wants Some 10. So This Is…

This picture was from last week I think. I love playing around with Photo Booth. I thought I’d post this to show my new hair from back in late October. Although, its already grown out quite a bit. I’m probably getting it cut again this week. I’ll post a new pic afterwards.

So since I’ve been pretty much MIA for months, I do have a lot I can write about. Back in November, Rob and I went to Atlanta and spent time by ourselves. I’ll write about that later, but anyway while we were there we went shopping and I got an iPod Touch. I’ve been enjoying that thing so much. It’s been a serious sanity saver for me. I took it with me when I went to Texas by myself, which I can write about later too. I listen to it everyday on my way to work and on my way…

I don’t have much of an update. I think all my readers have vanished so I haven’t been too concerned about updating. My life is still an upside down mess, but will hopefully be getting back on track soon. Sorry I can’t go into details, but it’s pretty personal. Thanks for understanding.

I haven’t had a chance to show you my other birthday gift from Rob. You know I got my MacBook Pro back in August and now I have this sewing machine. I’m going to be a very busy girl!

I called this morning to check on Oreo and they said he was eating and jumping around. Yesterday he wouldn’t move hardly at all and just laid out. They said the doc wasn’t in yet, but they’d call me later. I just got the call and he’s fine, needs some meds for a few days. I’m just so thankful. Drew and I just cried till our eyes were puffy before I left to take Oreo. He just kept saying, “Momma, don’t let him die.” It’s so hard to see your child in such grief stricken pain. In an hour when…

Drew called me while I was driving home, saying he thought Oreo (his rabbit) was dead. He was crying and it was very traumatic. I got home and looked at him and saw that he was probably not going to make it, but I would take him to the vet. I was praying they could do something to help. Drew got the rabbit for his 9th birthday back in January, so we haven’t had him that long. It’s Drew’s first pet that is just HIS, not a family pet. Drew couldn’t go with me to the vet because he had…
