Another excursion on our City Pass while in Atlanta was a CNN Studio Tour. We knew that this would be a great activity to squeeze in between other events. They start a new tour about every 10 minutes and they last about an hour. Up until a few years ago they didn’t allow small children, but we found out while on the tour that they have lifted that restriction. We kinda wished for our tour, they’d bring it back.

My kids nearly ate all these Peanut Butter Oatmeal Globs before I had a chance to have one. Drew called them addictive. Alex described them as the best cookies he’s ever made. Not sure I’d call them that. However, they are a great snack with a tall glass of milk. I’d like to try to make a healthier version of these, so keep a look out for those. Servings: 20-24 globs Prep Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 3 minutes Ingredients: 2 cups sugar 1 stick butter 1/2 cup milk 1 cup crunchy peanut butter 1 tbs vanilla 3 cups quick…

Yeah, there is a story to be told here. Last week Rob decided he would pay it forward by giving blood. The blood mobile was parked in the parking lot at his work, so around 3:30 he walked over to generously let them extract a pint of blood from his arm. After giving blood, he got up to leave, hopped out of the bus and started not feeling so good. So he sat on the curb and moments later, passed out and had a seizure. After coming to, he started feeling nauseous and you all know how that ends up.…

While we were on our little staycation trip in Atlanta, one thing on our list to do was ride the Skyview Atlanta, ferris wheel. Its located right in the heart of Atlanta on Luckie St. beside the Tabernacle. Although, a bit pricey, its one of those things you say you could live without doing, but it’s well worth it. You get beautiful views as you leisurely, move through 4 complete rotations of the wheel.

Yesterday was the first day of school and I’ve already belabored the fact I’m sick about it. Here’s my boys before their 1st day as a Junior and a 5th grader. Here’s a collection of all my Back to School posts.

This weeks the kids are back to school. Just can’t believe summer is over already. On the first day of school, I usually get up and make the boys breakfast. I’ve decided for tomorrow, I’m going to make the boys waffles, but with a healthy twist. When I’m on one of my healthy eating kicks, I’ll usually just make the normal waffles out of bisquick and I don’t eat one. However, this year I want to try whole wheat. Servings: 4-5 depending on size of waffle iron Prep Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 3-5 minutes depending on waffle iron Ingredients:…

As usual the summer blew by in a heartbeat and here I am, just sad that it’s over. I’m not super excited about the kids going back to school and starting their millions of extracurricular activities. All this means that quiet evenings at home are no longer. I have really enjoyed those this summer…a lot! However, life must go on and school starts Monday, so with that I thought I’d share some pics from a few activities that I never got around to posting. So happy to have a cousin reunion, even it was just a quick visit. Fun times…

Sunday, we had a great afternoon and evening visiting with our friends that came over. We’ve been talking with them about Rob’s recipe for homemade pasta called Cavatelli or Cavatels. Making cavatels is not a meal that an individual should make. For it’s way more fun to gather around and take turns cranking the cavatelli maker, watching the noodles fall from the machine.

I have always enjoyed corn, but sometimes it’s fun to change it up some. I wanted a corn dish that could be served as a cold salad. This corn salad is so simple and can be made ahead of time. This is perfect for a potluck. Servings: 4 Prep Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: None Ingredients: 1 (15 oz) cans corn, drained 1 cups grated cheese (I use Mexican Blend) 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 1/2 cup chopped red onion 1 cup Chili-Cheese Frito’s

This month I was happy about: vacation. This month I was sad because of: random reasons…really don’t remember. Something I accomplished this month was: getting my office space moved.

After my Dad passed away and I started thinking and I thought about ways to be able to keep just a little bit of Dad’s ashes. He wants his ashes spread in the Florida Keys and I hope to be able to go down there soon. I wanted to be able to go down there before the end of this year, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to swing it. Oh, I digress…. Anyway, I found that you could order necklaces. I asked my brothers if they wanted one and if so to pick one out and let me…

I recently took Alex to get his eyes checked again. He got an “upgrade” on his glasses and chose these snazzy specs! How grown up does he look? Ahh! Just can’t get over this boy and the fact he’ll be starting 5th grade in a couple of weeks. WOW! He took this picture for me on our way home from picking them up. So cute! Here he is wearing his new Braves hat…again along with his new glasses and trying to look limbless. 🙂 Love this silly dude so much.

encounWe recently took a trip to Atlanta over the 4th of July weekend for a little staycation. We got the City Pass, which kept us busy the 3 days we were there at a discount rate. Our first attraction was the Georgia Aquarium. We went to the Georgia Aquarium back in 2007, but that was before they expanded so it was exciting to see all that has been added. Places like the Aquarium of Western Australia offer school excursion and educational activities for your child.

Over the 4th of July we took a trip to Atlanta for a little staycation. We got the City Pass, which was a great deal and gave us plenty do. We had a great time at the World of Coke back in 2007 and found it to be even better this time. Your tour starts by getting an introduction by a super enthusiastic guide, who shares lots of amazing facts about Coke, as well as pointing out many of the sings and memorabilia around the room. From there you go into a theater and watch the video called Moments of…
