I kept an eye on my weather app to make sure there wasn’t any lightening near by. +…

1. February is coming to a close. Give us a two-word phrase that tells us something about how yours went. “Many appointments” …I have had I think 4 drs appointments and 3 physical therapy appointments this month. They get old. 2. If you had to describe how you’re feeling right now as an amusement park ride, what ride are you on? Explain. Hmm…I haven’t ridden on a roller coaster in a long time. The roller coaster threw me all and round and now I feel like I’ve been put through the ringer. 3. What’s something on your desk or a…

1. What kind of thinker are you – doer (concrete thinking), analyst (analytical and abstract thinking), orator (logical thinking), inventor (imaginative thinking), or original thinker (creative)? What makes you say so? You can try this little quiz (link here) to help with your answer. concrete (The Doer), analytical or abstract thinking (The Analyst), logical thinking (The Orator), imaginative (The Inventor) and creative (The Original Thinker). Before doing the quiz, I said I would call myself an orator. I’m a pretty logical thinker. Depending on my mood or the subject, I can be an original (creative thinker) as well. Then, I…

With all the bad that comes out of social media, there are good things that come from it too. This story starts off with a random message from one of my former student workers, Jordan. It was just part of her insta story one day, asking if anyone could help her finish her Auburn Bucket List. She asked, “Does anyone know how I can get up to the Samford Clock Tower for my birthday?” I happen to be sitting in my living room across from Rob. Due to Rob’s job, he knows a lot of people on campus. I asked…

I’ve been making this recipe for awhile now and it is one of my favorites. I’ve been doing the ‘low carb’ thing pretty consistently for about a year and half now. One of my secrets is having meals/snacks ready. One of my go-to meals is soup. I love soup and its easy to make a big batch and heat up for lunch or whenever I get hungry. This Spicy Southwest Chicken Soup can be prepared on the stove top, in the crock pot, or even the instant pot. Servings: 8-10 Prep Time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 2 hours Ingredients: 2…

1. What does love mean to you? Love is a choice you have to make everyday. Love is a verb, not a noun. Love is showing up…even when you don’t feel like it. Love is putting others before yourself. 2. Is love blind? I’m not sure, but what I do know is… I think people can be attractive not just in the way they look. I’ve seen the most attractive people, but then they either open their mouth to speak or their actions completely change how I see them. Yet you may have someone who’s not all that good looking,…

+ Sunday night – dinner at Walk-Ons with Rob. I don’t have a ton of pics of us from then, because you know back in the 1990’s, we didn’t carry cameras around with us like we do now. 🙂 ~~~~~~~~~~~ Feel free to jump in with the link up on one of these blogs: Joanne / Dara…

Here we are for our last Carnival Mardi Gras 2023 cruise port post. I may do 1 more post to wrap it all up. Anyway, our last port of call was in Grand Turk. That morning we were up super early, so that we could scarf down some breakfast right when they opened at 6:30am as we had to meet in the theater at 6:45am for our excursion. We went through all that, got off the ship to go to our meeting spot. I already had in the back of my mind that since were supposed to be swimming with…

Growing up I loved to ride my bike and to swing on the porch swing in my front yard. 3. Something you learned from a grandparent? Well, my grandparents raised me, so really learned a lot from them. Today I’m linking up with Tanya for Prime Purchases. One of my goals for this year is to keep my purchases (especially online) to a minimum. All the things I bought were out of absolute necessity or a gift. Aquasonic Black Series Ultra Whitening Toothbrush This was a birthday gift for Drew, which was on his wish list. Disposable Latex Gloves I needed these for when I cook with jalapeno peppers, etc. I’m over my fingers burning for the rest of the day. These are also great for cleaning! OtterBox Defender Series I desperately needed a new phone case. Mine…

We’re continuing our Christmas Cruise posts. Today I’m sharing about our time in the Dominican Republic, which is one of Rob’s and my favorite ports. Carnival docks at their port called Amber Cove, but the nearest ‘real’ town in Puerta Plata. That morning we had breakfast in formal dining and then met up with the kids to get off the ship. It was looking super gloomy and overcast, but luckily it cleared up pretty quickly and ended up being a beautiful day. We got off the ship and walked to the area where the taxis line up. Rob got us…

1. January 29th is National Puzzle Day. Do you enjoy puzzles? What kind (crossword, jigsaw, sudoku, etc)? How often do you work a puzzle? I like puzzles ok. My younger son and I really enjoyed puzzles during the COVID shutdown. There are several puzzle apps that I enjoy: Cube Block, Figgerits, and Cross Math just to name a few. 2. Something you currently find ‘puzzling’? Maybe not so much puzzling, but I’m curious to know why Auburn University just fired a winning Women’s Tennis Coach earlier this week along with one of the assistants. I don’t follow tennis, but I…
