31 Days Of Must Read Cookbooks

Here we are for Day 4 of the series of that I’m moving over from my old URL, while I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Some of these books will be books that are part of my collection that I have found useful through the years, while others are books I come across in the library.

Authentic Mexican

When I started researching for this 31 days project, I knew I wanted a good Mexican cookbook. I found Rick Bayless’s cookbook called Authentic Mexican: Regional Cooking from the Heart of Mexico. This book covers all areas of Mexican food and while it does that many of the recipes are a little in depth. I think anyone who enjoys cooking and enjoys Mexican food will have no problems making a recipe that turns out amazing.

The one recipe that I’m thinking of trying is the Chile Rellenos de Picadillo aka Pork-Stuffed Chiles in Savory Tomato Sauce. Yummy! I always love this when eating out at an authentic Mexican place, so I’m anxious to try it myself. Shaunta at Going Reno recently made a Chili Relleno Bake, which looked awesome.

Authentic Mexican: Regional Cooking from the Heart of Mexico
This book is a must read cookbook because it covers all the bases when it comes to Mexican food. In the margins, it has cooking notes, which include techniques, variations, and suggestions, to make the process easier. It also has a super informative glossary of Mexican ingredients and equipment.
