If you missed my first post where we traveled to Toronto, Ontario, Canada from Rochester, NY and our adventures that day check this post out first >>> Toronto, Ontario, Canada

We got up the next morning and wanted a nice breakfast. We wound up going to Evviva, which was a trendy little spot, where we enjoyed a couple breakfast sandwiches, OJ, and of course, a bottle of Canada Dry.

From there, we walked the city and then drove the city before making our way over to Niagara Falls for the rest of the day. For memorable trips just like this, you can head out to sites such as Niagara Falls tours Canada.

Here’s some more pics of the Toronto. I had to post this picture of this black squirrels. In the South, we don’t have black squirrels, so this was quite a sight to behold.

Anytime we’re in a big city and they have a Chinatown, I’m always interested to see it. We didn’t have enough time to get out and explore, but it looked quite interesting.

Toronto was a clean city with lots of interesting murals and beautiful architecture. A mix of new and old.

We had heard that the city of Niagara Falls is reminicent of Gatlinburg, TN, which we go to often. As we drove to find parking we could see what people were talking about.

We saw the “red raincoats” ship is operated by Hornblower Cruises, which operates out of the Canadian side.

The “blue raincoats” come from the US side and is called the “Maid of the Mist.”

We had purchased tickets to do the ziplining next to the falls. However after checking in about an hour before we were supposed to go they told us we wouldn’t be able to go at our designated time due to wind. They told us to check back in like 2 hours.

This is a shot earlier in the day when people were still able to zipline.

We decided to go grab lunch, which I believe we ate at Clifton Family Restaurant and walked around some more.

We saw “Elvis.”

It was time for us to check back into see if the wind had subsided enough. Unfortunately it hadn’t so we just got our money back. No fun for us! We snapped a few more pics and then headed back up to our car.

The further into the day it got the more crowded it got. Luckily, we had seen enough and decided to get back to the US for our exciting dinner plans!

Long lines to go through customs, but it moved pretty fast. Buffalo, NY here we come!

We got to Buffalo at our stop for dinner, which was Anchor Bar Home of the Original Buffalo Wings! There was a wait so we walked down the street before it got too dark. There was this abandoned church, Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. I am happy to see instead of being torn down, it was renovated into a “vibrant mix of retail, restaurant, commercial office, and residential.” Most recent article I could find.

The wait was so worth it! These are no doubt the very best wings I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place if you’ve never been.

What a bummer that you did not get to zipline over the falls; my two younger sons and my husband did that and love it. My older son and I are not fans of heights so we were content to watch. We spent a whole week in Niagara falls and Buffalo area so we got to see and do a lot. We too were fascinated by the black squirrels as we only have gray ones here.

Ok I’m trying to remember what state you’re in…CT? I was wondering if it was the Northern state’s that had black squirrels or what.

Ziplining would be so fun over the falls! We went years ago and I don’t think they had that yet. Black squirrels make me laugh! There always seem to be ‘pockets’ of them here and there. We had them around our college campus and were known for it. It’s so strange when you aren’t used to seeing them!

I was born in Buffalo and haven’t been back since the mid-60s. I am sure it has changed considerably. I follow a blogger who lives there and she shares, like you, some beautiful photos of the area. Someday I would like to go back.
