What’s Up Wednesday ~ April 2020

By | April 29, 2020

Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday.

What's Up Wednesday - February 2020

What We’re Eating
I’ve been cooking from some of my favorite food bloggers: Plain Chicken, Simply Happy Foodie, Wholesome Recipe Box, and Cosmopolitan Cornbread.

What I’m Reminiscing About
Lately I’ve been thinking our travels through they years. With Corona being a thing now and the fact that all travel had to be cancelled at least through the summer, we didn’t get to make any of our travel plans. Drew and Rob were going to Annapolis, MD/Washington, DC for Drew’s best friend’s graduation from the Navel Academy in May. That got cancelled. We were going on a trip to NYC, which was for a conference Rob was attending. That would have been in June and we were going to extend it for Drew’s graduation trip, since he’s graduating from AU this year. Rob’s conference is online now, so no trip to NYC. Rob has a conference in Tampa in September, I think and I’m not sure if that will happen. Ugh! It’s just so sad. However, our pocketbooks are loving it.

Some of the trips I’ve been thinking about lately include
Our day in San Francisco
West Coast Trip:Day 4 - San Francisco

Rob and I love San Juan dearly. We had such a good time while visiting there a 2nd time.

And so many more…

What I’m Loving
I’m loving that life is a lot less stressful right now.

What We’ve Been Up To
I’ve been working through some of the stuff on my Corona Shelter in Place Bucket List. In fact I need to go update it!

What I’m Dreading
Not sure I’m dreading anything right now, which is really nice. We just found out earlier this week that we will continue to work from home through June 30th! WOWZAs! I enjoy working from home, but I do really miss my coworkers and my student workers.

What I’m Working On
Learning how to use my new Air Fryer. I finally decided to jump on that bandwagon and give it a shot. Hope it’s worth the money.

What I’m Excited About
During this time of staying home and having more time, I have a list of things to get done. I’m always excited to cross stuff off the list!

What I’m Watching/Reading
I recently read this article about the reason why Zoom calls drain your energy. With everybody “Zooming” for work, school, Sunday school, etc. this helps us understand why even though we’re not as busy, we are more tired than ever. I’m lucky that I only really Zoom once a week for work and once a week for Sunday School.

You can see a rundown of what I’ve been watching on my Memories of the Month post.

What I’m Listening To
Rob and Drew are in serious baseball withdrawals, so they were very excited to see that Fox Sports is replaying the 1995 World Series, so I’m hearing Game 1 in the background.

What I’m Wearing
I’m wearing a pair of my favorite socks. They’re owl socks that I got a couple Christmas’s ago from Drew.

What I’m Doing This Weekend
I’m sure this weekend, we will go on another family hike. We’ve been taking a hike every weekend for the last 5 weeks I believe it’s been. I need to do a post of some kind to document those.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month
Let’s see next month is May, which is only a couple days away! Geez. This time at home has flown by. I’m not sure what there is to look forward to. No travels as I mentioned above. I mean the Drew finishes with his Spring Semester today and Alex only has a couple more weeks of school. However, with all extra curricular activities already being done with… I guess what I’m saying is nothing will change with school winding down. It’s weird.

What Else is New
My little container garden is coming along. I know I mentioned back in February that I was starting seeds inside, but I haven’t updated any since then. Everything is outside now and I was excited to see my Cosmos starting to bloom. So cute!

We went to San Juan for the first time in January and LOVED it. I would love to go back.

Yes, our pocketbook is suddenly much happier without all our travel expenses. It’s both a good and a bad thing.

Did you know you can stream old baseball games on YouTube? Also, the MLB YouTube channel has made access to all 2018 & 2019 games free during this time. Can you tell I’m desperately missing baseball too?!?!

Yes, I think the only benefit of all that cancelled travel is a higher bank balance. I enjoyed reading about all of your life updates. Take care!

I have been planning a few travels in my mind… I’m not about to actually plan anything as we’ve already had to cancel a few trips this year.
