This is my last monthly summary for the year! I’m really glad I did this this year. It will be great to look back years from now and have a quick ‘summary’ of each month. This week was been a whirlwind! One of our nieces, ‘Toady,’ stayed with us this week. Her parents (Rob’s sister and her hubby) are preparing to make a big move across country, so we agreed to keep Toady, who’s the oldest of three children. Every morning we would get up and I drove her about 45 miles to her Pre-K class. I hung out at their apartment for the 3 hours that she was there and then I’d pick her up and we drove back to Auburn. It’s been fun to be able to get to know her better. She’s…

Something new I did was: photograph…

We went last week to Texas. It was a very quick trip to see Grandmother and try to get all my stuff from the house. We brought a ton of stuff back. Nothing of great value and really when you look at it all, it looks like a bunch of junk! But one man’s junk is another man’s treasures, right? And most of this stuff I brought back is treasure to me. If you asked me how you box up memories, I’d show you the boxes of stuff sitting in my living room. I emptied 2 of the boxes last…

Well I had written Drew’s birthday entry a couple days ago and you’ll see it in a few hours, but since I’m up and I was reading about Harper and Brayden and I couldn’t help but think back to this time 11 years ago. Wow! I get tears in my eyes thinking about it. No not because of the thoughts of the pain, but just thinking about how awesome it all was. After he was born, I remember the feelings that I had. From the day I visited my gynecology specialist who is a professional and has completed obgyn board…

This edition of my Christmas Decor showcases my Auburn decorations. This is an Auburn candy cane, which I keep hanging on the microwave stand year round! I guess I should put it on the Christmas tree, but I just never moved him from his normal spot! This was given to us by a coworker of Rob’s who’s son is into glass working. I love it! My Millenium Auburn Santa that Rob gave me and I absolutely LOVE it! I keep it out year round. Although last year he got put away. 🙁 The first year I was in Auburn, Rob…

I just can’t seem to get into a groove of writing like I’d hoped. We’ve been busy buying for Christmas, planning the menu, etc! Oh the joys of CHRISTMAS! Anyway, I’m going to continue from my Part 1 post about decorations. A few years ago Rob’s parents added to my Clown collection with this adorable stocking holder. Up until last year we didn’t even have a mantel to put him on, so he sat up on the entertainment center with nothing hanging on him. We used to hang our stockings on our bannister seen here. I was so excited last…

So the other day, I talked about pulling out all the Christmas stuff and this year I really had time to reflect as I carefully unwrapped each item. I figured I’d start by talking about the things from my Paternal Grandparents. I’m sure I’ve talked about it before, but for anyone who’s new here, I’ll say it again. My Paternal Grandparents raised me. They were granted custody of me when I was about 3 or so. My weekends were split between home, mom, and dad. But…that’s a whole ‘nother blog or two. We’ll just leave it at the understatement that…

I’m still in awe that it’s the Christmas season. A couple days ago Rob pulled down all the Christmas stuff. It’s amazing how our stuff seems to multiply every year. So today I did some cleaning and put out all the Christmas stuff out. It’s always a walk down memory lane as I unwrap all my stuff. I plan to taking a camera tour of all the Christmas stuff and tell the memories I have of each thing. Tomorrow we’re going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree and bring it home and decorate it. Every year…
