    Soccer Tourney 2009::Peachtree City, GA

Last weekend we were in Peachtree City for a soccer tournament. I actually didn’t go up there till Saturday afternoon, because I was photographing a horse show. I was able to make it for the swim party and watched the game on Sunday. The kids had a blast in the pool even though the adults thought the water was way too cold to even think about getting in! Fix-It Friday: #12 My Shadow

Original – “My Shadow” Here’s my “fixed” version. Using CS4, I cropped the picture. Then I played with curves to help with the exposure. I increased the vibrance to bring out the color. I rotated it some (I’m really into angles lately). I smoothed out the dirt on her arms and face and reduced the noise to help with the dirt too. I added some warmth to the picture (colors>yellow).

    Bon Jovi Concert

Well, I’m quickly getting further and further behind on my writing here. I never got to write about the Bon Jovi & Daughtry Concert. I’ll have to say it was awesome concert. Sound quality was pretty flawless for Daughtry. When Bon Jovi came out the sound wasn’t as good, but wasn’t bad like many people we’ve seen. The bass wasn’t pumping. In fact there wasn’t hardly any bass! I didn’t enjoy the concert as much either because Philips Arena was HOT and just felt blah! I had wondered if this concert would top Def Leppard and the answer to that…

    Marriage

Ok, so many of you probably know that life has been rocky for me and well, the commitment that I made almost 11 years ago nearly came crumbling down in front of me. So much of it was my fault and mainly because I was not able to communicate and express what was bothering me. I guess like the counselor I saw said, I am the “textbook unhappy wife”. I won’t get into any details, but I’ve learned a lot in the last nearly 8 months or so. I learned that holding things in doesn’t help anyone, doesn’t do anyone…

    Restaurant Meme

I saw this meme over at Susie’s. Since I haven’t been absent from my little place here I figured this might be something fun to do and to let you know I’m still here. Like Stacy, I like the usual Chili’s, Red Lobster, etc, but I decided to do unique restaurants. These aren’t in any particular order just in the order that I think of. 1. Dante’s Down the Hatch in Atlanta. Fondue, very romantic, great jazz music, one of the most unique places you’ll ever go to. 2. Niffer’s Place in Auburn. Good food, good service, unique atmosphere, great…

    Keep ’em comin’

Keep the prayers coming. I’ve got an another interview tomorrow at 11 cst. My interview last week didn’t go that great. Basically, my nerves took over and I just couldn’t stay focused. Tomorrow is a screening interview with my 1st choice in school systems, so it’s a MUST that I do great.

    Update

Thanks for all the prayers. Keep them coming please. Things are still not good with me and won’t be until there’s a resolution. If you’d like to read about what’s going on, all those entries will be password protected. I have to be careful who reads it, so if you’d like the password just let me know and I’ll share. I’m just being cautious. On a happier note, we’re picking up the U-Haul tomorrow and are going to fill it with the first load. We’ll go over Saturday morning for the walk through and then, hopefully we’ll have the truck…

    The Lowdown

So I thought about it today and decided I’d let you in on the lowdown for those that are interested in what happened. Last Wednesday, a week ago today my principal told me that they would not be able to renew my contract for next year. I was in complete shock and disbelief. I’m like, “how can you do this to me when you know I’m in the process of boxing up my house and getting ready to have a much larger house payment?” He just repeated the same thing over and over. All I could think about was how…

    Summer Days

Our 2nd of Summer Days…Today we started the morning by going to Town Creek Park and walked. We took some pictures along the way. Here’s the boys while resting on a bench. After that we went home and made homemade Strawberry-Lemonade Icies. Here’s a picture of Alex showing off the fact he gets to drink out of a big boy cup! The walk really stirred up our appetite so we went to Red Lobster with Rob for lunch. After lunch we came home only to struggle with Alex, who didn’t want to take a nap! I finally got him down…

See toddler climb out of bed…

See Momma say bye-bye to quiet nap times, See Momma say bye-bye to full night sleep, See Momma lose her sanity! Yes, yes, yes, Alex crawled out of the crib a few weeks ago during nap time. My first thought was “Oh! No! This isn’t supposed to happen to me!” Drew never climbed out of the crib. Yes, we were SO lucky! I didn’t realize that at the time. Anyway so Alex climbed out of his bed a couple times after he had taken a good long nap last weekend. Still I was thinking, “Ok, he’s ok because he’s not…

    Summer – Day 1

Today is the first day of summer for the boys and me. It’s gone pretty well. We ran some errands this morning and then watched Cool Runnings together. What an inspiring movie! The boys enjoyed each other, for the most part. Here’s Alex watching on as Drew plays on his game boy.

    Playing Catch Up!

I haven’t done an actual post in….not sure how long! I’ve been busy with finishing up school. I had a lot more to do at work before summer than normal due to the fact that the entire school will be painted and recarpeted this summer. So we had to box everything up and take everything off the walls. Last Sunday, Mother’s Day, was really nice. We went to Columbus, GA to shop. After shopping, we went to the Riverwalk and walked a couple miles. The kids enjoyed seeing all the turtles in the river. Then, from there we went to…
