    Sentence a Day – August 2025

August was full. Family visits, deck drama, sweet moments with LA, and the quiet joy of everyday routines. Through it all, I stayed grounded in gratitude and kept moving forward, one step at a time. 🙂

    Week 33 & 34: 2025

Mid-August arrived with its own kind of rhythm. Quiet observations, unexpected visitors, and a few moments that felt almost cinematic. From a mushroom in disguise to a bird that wouldn’t budge, the days unfolded with a mix of wonder, chaos, and tenderness. August 12 That day, when I got to1 my car in the parking deck at work and spotted this little guy just staring…

Here’s what pulled me in (and what made me roll my eyes).

    Week 31 & 32: 2025

August snuck up on me as new months usually do, while I was rinsing off Texas dust. Mushrooms took over the yard, LA dropped by with her usual sparkle, and the 21-year-old landed back home between leases; bringing laundry, late-night fridge raids, and that familiar mix of chaos and comfort. The house feels full again, but not settled and I’m ok with it. July 28 Came home from our family visit to Texas>>>Quick Trip to Texas July 29 We’ve had so many mushrooms pop up. These were on our side yard. My favorite time is any time LA gets to…

    Watching & Listening – July & August 23

Hello! It’s time for another watching and listening post, where I share what I’ve been watching and listening to the last 2 months. Last month I wrote about my recent YouTube obsessions: YouTube – June & July 23 Oh, we finally pulled the plug on “old” cable. We have add AT&T Uverse for years, but they continued to go up and up on price. They were trying to price us out of it, because they really don’t want to support it anymore. We finally made the switch to Direct TV stream, so we’ve joined the 21st century and are streaming…

So easy to bring inside and unload. The weekend before school started we went and heard the marching band play through all their stand tunes. It always gets us so excited for football. Drew, Caitlyn, and Bigsby came. We also brought Kayleigh. We finally got our hands on some of this…

Last Tuesday I ended up having to go into work later because I was just so dead when the alarm went off. I made myself breakfast before heading into work. I’m in a search committee chair for an open position that I supervise in my department. My 1st time chairing a search committee. Last week,…
