Today was Drew’s Confirmation dinner and ceremony. Since I don’t have the opportunity to take his picture much I decided to use this as my daily picture. Silly boys… So proud of these two!

Outside my window… it’s been cold! I am thinking… that tonight may be emotional. I am thankful for… the love Drew has for God. Drew is… being confirmed this evening. Alex is… wishing it was still his birthday. From the kitchen… Rob is becoming a better and better cook. Yummy stir fry last night! I am wearing… a dress. I am creating… an Emmaus scrapbook. I am going… to Drew’s confirmation in a just a little bit. I am reading… My Utmost for His Highest; by Oswald Chambers I am hoping… to get over this exhaustion. I am hearing… voices…

Today Alex is 7! WOW! It seems like I was just saying that about Drew. I hope to write something more substantial later, but right now I’m still recovering from being gone for 3 days. See list of all birthday posts.

Happy birthday to my baby! SEVEN

Outside my window… it’s raining. I am thinking… about what needs to be done before I leave Wednesday afternoon. I am thankful for… Drew is… excited to have made the Junior High Track team. Alex is… excited to have won both the Pack Pinewood Derby and the District Pinewood Derby this past weekend. From the kitchen… homemade bread that I made over the weekend. (recipes coming soon) I am wearing… denim capris, Auburn t-shirt, black leather sandals, glasses, hair in pony tail. I am creating… NO expectations of my time at Emmaus. I am going… to the Walk to Emmaus…

Today was Alex’s first Pinewood Derby that he got to participate in. He’s watched his brother do it for many years. We set the bar kind of high considering he won the Pack Race and the District Race! ooops! Who knew his car would be so good?

Outside my window… beautiful spring-like weather. I am thinking… of Toomer’s Trees and all the time, effort, and money being put into trying to save them. All because of an idiot! Read about it here. I am thankful for… all the well-educated folks here in Auburn and all of the U.S. that are helping to save the tree. Drew is… in his 2nd week of practice before time trials to determine if he makes the JV track team. Alex is… working on a 1,000 piece puzzle he got while he was visiting the USS Alabama today. From the kitchen… I…

Over the years I’ve seen various other bloggers work towards completing 101 tasks in 1001 days. Although, I already have a bucket list, many of the tasks on my bucket list are things I’m sure I’ll never do in my life time. However with this 101 in 1001, I’ve tried to think of tasks/goals that are achievable in this time frame. Start date: Friday, February 18, 2011 End date: Friday, November 15, 2013 I would encourage you to make each day count and maybe making a list like this will give you a little motivation. If you decide to do…

This afternoon was busy. First we started off at Plainsman Park for the 1st baseball game of the season. I just had my point & shoot, so I didn’t get any great pics of the game. I did however manage to get some good pics of Aubie. From there, Drew and I went his den meeting, where one of our den dads is a police officer who came and talk to the boys about being safe.

The other night I had one of those nights, where I just laid in bed and couldn’t stop tossing and turning and my mind was just flying and made it impossible to sleep. I for some reason got on the subject of the 365 project, trying to think of things to take pics of. I’ve tried doing the 365 project for the last several years and eventually I get burned out. I actually started coming up with ways to make it more exciting. I got up and started writing…. Experiment with lighting, focus, angle, aperture, bokeh, depth of field (DoF),…

I’ve been wanting to update on what’s been going on. I’m enjoying so much doing the 365 Project, but this blog wasn’t meant to be mainly a photography blog. Although, this blog has turned into much more that I had originally planned, which was to chronicle the lives of my family, the good, the bad, and sometimes even the ugly! Life is starting to rev back up again. Drew starts back to soccer practice this week. He’s already returned to his weekly scout meetings and D-group sessions. He’s thinking of trying out for the JV track team. This weekend he’ll…

About a year ago, I discovered the easiest way to cook bacon. 4 reasons I love this way of cooking bacon: * Cooks the bacon nice and flat. * Don’t have to tend to it like you do when cooking bacon on the stove top. * Can cook a lot of bacon at one time. * Much easier to clean up. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. Get 2 cookie sheets and make sure they fit together like a puzzle. 3. Spray the bottom of the pan you plan to use as the top with cooking spray. 4. I line…

So today is Drew’s birthday and yes, he is a teenager! I’m not sure if I start feeling light-headed when I think of that, because it makes me feel old or because it seems like yesterday, I couldn’t wait to meet our first born. The other day, I had kind of this out of body experience. I was sitting in my Lazy Boy chair in the living room, where I usually sit when I’m in the living room. The boys were on the couch watching TV together. I had the weirdest picture appear in my head and I’m not sure…

Just a quick shot of Drew before he started to eat his strawberry shortcake. The weekend was a bit busier than I had anticipated and I didn’t get a chance to make his cake, so while we were at Publix picking up shrimp for his birthday dinner, I let him pick out a dessert. I still plan to make him a cake. For my memory’s sake, here’s what we did on his birthday: Sunday School Church Lunch at his chosen place, Shogun Auburn vs. Tennessee Basketball women (we lost) Cooked fried shrimp and fries for his birthday dinner Opened presents…

Today was the celebration. Very moving. Took lots of pics. I couldn’t decide which pic to use. Nothing really jumped out at me so I made a collage. See all of them here.

I’m not sure I can find the words to express the sadness that the Auburn Family are experiencing because of the impending death of the Toomer’s Oak Trees. These are the times when we realize the role of tree service springfield il. For those of you who are unaware of what I’m speaking of I’ll try to put it in a nutshell for ya. Toomer’s Corner is the center of town, right downtown and the corner of campus. It’s where 1,000’s of students, alumni, and fans gather after every Auburn victory. It’s a place where we celebrate by rolling the…

This season has been nothing less than remarkable and amazing. I agree with Coach Chizik in saying that to try and describe it would “cheapen it.” As Auburn Alum and die-hard fans, Rob and I go into every football season hoping and praying that Auburn plays well and goes to good bowl game. After the 2004 season losing a chance to play for the National Championship, it seemed as if we would probably never live to see Auburn do that well again. This team proved us wrong and we are so glad they did! Here’s when ESPN Game Day came…

**Yes, another picture of Daisy. I just can’t help myself. She is so photogenic and doesn’t mind the camera, unlike Rosie who would practically run away when she saw me get my camera out.** Daisy is adjusting nicely still. We’ve quickly learned some of her tendencies, which has helped us to know how she may react in certain situations. I was concerned about her response to the craziness that would probably occur while we watched the National Championship game, but she sat right at my feet. She stayed pretty calm most of the time and we never had to resort…

Meet the newest edition to our family. This beautiful Pembroke Welsh Corgi is Daisy. Some of you may recognize her if you read Tracy’s blog. I “met” her when I started doing the Mommytography project. She commented on my header, which you’ll notice has a Corgi on it. I responded in saying that we were currently Corgi-less, because Rosie passed away last year. Never did I think she would respond saying that she had a Corgi that she would like to find a good home for. I talked it over with Rob and after talking back and forth with Tracy…

What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before? Went to Oakland Cemetery for a PhotoWalk Did you keep your new years’ resolutions and will you make more for next year? I didn’t write any down this year. One of the main ones was to read 1 book a month, which I will be writing a blog post about soon. Did anyone close to you give birth? My sister-in-law gave birth to my newest Nephew, Kaleb.
