On Christmas Eve, Rob’s Dad and Step-Mom arrived. I decided to do a nice meal and make it something a little more traditional. So I made a homemade marinaded/injected for a ham with green beans and pecan praline sweet potatoes. It was SO yum! Christmas morning after Santa dropped by! Opening presents Drew with his new, shiny trombone. He was very excited! Look you can see my reflection! Christmas Day snacks! Making Christmas dinner! After dinner I got on facebook and noticed someone who doesn’t live to far said that it was snowing! Went outside and here’s what we saw!…

With Christmas approaching I thought I would post this pics I scanned on one of my scanning sprees. I wished I had more pictures of me with Santa and you never know, the more I go through old pics from Grandmother’s house, I may come up with more. How priceless is this one? Me, I supposed this was my first Christmas 1975 with the Sleeping Santa! I just laugh every time I look at this one. This one, well I’m not having anything to do with this rosy cheeked guy. “Let me down!” Here I am at Monnig’s after having…

This morning we went up to Atlanta for the Children’s Christmas Parade. We really enjoyed the parade and it really got us in the Christmas spirit. Afterwards, we walked over to Peachtree Center and ate at El Ninfa’s for lunch. After that we headed back home so we could watch the SEC Championship game on TV. Here are some pictures I took during the parade.

Here’s pictures from the Auburn Christmas parade yesterday. Alex and Rob were on the float with Pack 29, but they were on the other side so you won’t see them in the pictures. Have a holly, jolly Christmas It’s the best time of the year I don’t know if there’ll be snow but have a cup of cheer Have a holly, jolly Christmas And when you walk down the street Say Hello to friends you know and everyone you meet. Oh Ho the mistletoe hung where you can see Somebody waits for you Kiss her once for me Have a…

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we headed up to Greenville, SC for the final soccer tourney of this half of the season for Drew. We didn’t get out of town until after 6 because I had to work, which was fine. We had opted not to leave earlier, because we were trying to avoid Atlanta traffic. Our ride there was good, and happily arrived around 11 pm to our hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt Place. Saturday we woke up bright and early to get out to the fields for an 8 a.m. game. The game ended in a tie. We…

Earlier this month, Alex had to get glasses. We got a notice from the school recommending that he see the eye doctor, because preliminary eye screenings came out abnormal. Here he is and just as cute as ever.

Rob and I DVR everything. When we got the DVR a few years ago, we never realized how it would revolutionize our TV watching. I think we’re able to watch 2-3 times the amount of TV that we used to. Skipping commercials and sometimes skipping stuff that’s boring or monotonous saves a ton of time. Working so much the DVR has been a “life-saver” or should I say a TV saver…literally! (I crack myself up!) Anyway, I had actually started writing this post waaaay back…don’t even remember when. So anyway, I’m thinking I need blog about TV more, because well…I’m…

I love living in a college town. Every weekend there is always something to do. We actually don’t take advantage of that fact enough, but I after a recent date with Rob to a UPC event it made me cognizant of the fact that I should be looking at the calendar to see what’s going on. So one night while looking I noticed that Diamond Rio was coming to town. For 5 bucks, I could go see this band that I’ve loved since high school. It was a great concert. I walked straight over to the Student Union right after…

…the new way of life for this household. I honestly can’t remember how much I’ve talked here about what’s been going on and on a normal day I would look back through my posts to see, but honestly…I’m too damn tired! *Did I just say that?* Anyway, I may not be writing here like I would like because I have no inspiration. I do find time at my evening job to read all my favorite blogs, one of which is still Rude Cactus, who I’ve read for years now. He wrote a thought provoking post about his daily schedule and…

We drove down the night before and spent the night at the Comfort Inn in Weeki Wachee. Got up the next morning and dropped Drew off with Rob’s Gramma and headed to the Pier. It’s always so exciting. Never gets old seeing those towering ships! Here’s Drew with his Uncle Nick at dinner the first night. It also never gets old enjoying all the food…”free” food! Remembering fine details of this trip have been a bit of a challenge, but I’ll do my best to recount this as accurately as I can. So we docked in Cozumel and had decided…

So last week was my 35th birthday. I was treated to cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes in Auburn. Since I’m working more than I’m not, practically, we waited till the weekend to go out. We were up in Birmingham for soccer on Sunday, so I got to pick something different. I first thought about Chipotle, but when we went in, we were surprised to see it wasn’t a sit down restaurant. It’s an inexpensive, walk up, and order type place. Then we went over to The Summit, where I spotted Chuy’s. Oh, I adore that restaurant! Only been 1 time to…

I always have good intentions of blogging at least once a week, but life has really gotten busy since my last post. Monday, August 30th, I subbed at a school was told by the office lady that they had some maternity leave spots that may need to be filled and that I should speak with one of the principals. Well, I did, but she wasn’t sure if that teacher had found someone. I told her to please keep me in my mind, yadda-yadda-yadda. On my way home that day, I noticed Rob had called a few times. Called him back…

Drew had his first school sporting event today. He did a great job in his 1st ever cross country meet. He didn’t have his uniform yet and had only been to 2 practices. He ran a mile and half in 10:44. Trailing a high school kid Passed up the high school kid After his race, he ran back and met a friend of his so he could cheer him on. Love it!

I mentioned in a previous post that I have been super busy. Usually when I do the soccer pics for Drew’s Soccer League, I don’t get around to getting his picture. Well, this season he made sure that I did, because he wants to have new pics for his profile on the Thunder website. Thought I’d share… Tomorrow he is participating in his first school related sport, Cross Country. He’ll be running a mile and half. Go Tigers!
