    Feeling the Love at Camp

    Last week Drew spent his first week at camp. He went away to Boy Scout Camp in North Carolina; Camp Daniel Boone. I always loved getting stuff while away at camp, so I had a lot of fun writing letters and packaging up little things to send him. Put a mark next to “Good Mom” deeds and helping the camp newbie feel the love at camp his first year! 🙂 On the packing list was of course a laundry bag. I found this in the $1 department at Target. I also found camp postcards, stationary & envelopes, and stickers in…

    {I ♥ Faces} Week 25 – Wedding Bells

    The wedding pic I chose is from my wedding, which was way back when and hence, taken with film. The scanned pics aren’t that great, but this is one that people love including me. I never planned to put cake in his face, but it’s just one of those things. As you can see, he got me back pretty good! Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest!

    {I ♥ Faces} Week 25 – Just for Fun

    Having boys means that I have tons of fun pics. I had a couple old pics in mind and I decided to go with this one. It will be a great one to show at his wedding reception someday! 🙂 Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest!

    Carnival Triumph {7 Day Eastern Caribbean}

    Back in March of 2008, Rob and I ventured out for our 6th cruise. It was very different from the previous 5 because we didn’t feel pressured to do everything or stick to a serious schedule. We just did what we wanted to and enjoyed it. We stayed up late most nights dancing the night away or singing along in the piano bar. Most cruises we push ourselves so hard during the day and we’re usually so exhausted it’s nearly impossible to stay up late. Something else that was different is that we left our house early Saturday, the day…

    {I ♥ Faces} Week 24 – Let’s Hear It For The Boys! {Kids}

    This weeks posting is called “Let’s Hear It For The Boys!” in honor of Father’s Day, since I have 2 sons this was quite difficult to choose. I ended up going with this cute one of my older son back when he was in Kindergarten. This was after “fun night” at school with his best friend. Their faces are painted orange and blue, because we live in the city of the greatest university on Earth. 🙂 Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest!

    {I ♥ Faces} Week 24 – Let’s Hear It For The Boys! {Adult}

    This weeks posting is called “Let’s Hear It For The Boys!” in honor of Father’s Day. I chose this picture because it’s such a great tribute to Rob and the great father that he is. Here he’s laying in the ‘kiddy’ area with Alex. This pic has always been a favorite of mine. Be sure to check out I ♥ Faces to see all the other beautiful faces that have been entered into the contest! This was taken at Schlitterbahn

    Asleep at the Legos

    Isn’t this so cute!?!? Alex has been so into Legos lately. He had them strewn from wall to wall in the living room. He pulled them back out the other night, after having to clean them up last weekend. He was wise to keep them in the bucket. Alex started trying to recreate a boat he saw in a Lego book he found. He took a break for a minute to get the pillow off the couch and then proceeded to lay down and play laying down! I was shocked when I looked over to see him asleep with his…

    13 Things: 2006 (TT #18)

    Thirteen things… I’ve been doing some “tidying” up of my blogosphere and realized that all my banners for Thursday 13 were because the original website is gone. So I went and fixed that. Then I found a link to a new Thursday 13 site and decided I might try to pick back up on this. This used to be one of my favorite posts to do each week. Now thinking about what to write for my 13 this week. I’m going to list 13 things that have happened since my last Thursday 13 post, which was at the end of…

    Adventures at the Doctor’s Office!

    Today I took Drew to the dr. for a check up for boy scout camp that he’ll be attending in a couple weeks. We saw a new doctor, Dr. M@tt C@rter, who was super nice. Drew checked out great, but to my surprise he had to get 2 shots. No big deal or so we thought…. The nurses come in to give him the shots in his arm. Didn’t seem to phase him much so he hops up and we go to pay and leave. On our way out the door he mentions that he feels like he’s gonna throw…

    Fix-It Friday: #16 Sweet Grin

    Original – “Sweet Grin” Here’s my “fixed” version. Using CS4, I played with curves to help with the lighting issue. Then I unmasked the eyes and used the dodge tool to bring out the color. I then used an action called Glam Bur v.1 to help soften the picture. I cloned out some of the little red marks on his face.

    Congrats to Maria!

    Picture courtesy of Savannah Now Saturday my sis-in-law, Maria, graduated from SCAD Atlanta. It was a great commencement ceremony. Very inspiring! They had display screens and while we were waiting for the ceremony to start they displayed examples of work from a select few graduates. I’m a pretty artsy person and as they flipped through the different majors, there were several that I think would be awesome. Made me really wish I would have been exposed to more before deciding what to major in in college. Live and learn! Glenn Close gave the commencement speech, which was quite interesting. After…

    Fix-It Friday: #15 Little Precious

    Original – “Little Precious” Here’s my “fixed” version. Using CS4, I played with curves to help with the exposure. Then, I unmasked the eyes and used the dodge tool. I increased the vibrance to bring out the color. I then used Lens Blur along with a dark vignette on the pic excluding her face. I cloned out some of the little red marks on her face.

    WFMW {Bathtime Battles}

    This is my first time time to do Works for Me Wednesday. This week’s topic is Parenting Tip for Young Children. When my boys were younger they loved taking a bath, but neither of them liked getting out when it was time. In fact it got so bad with my first son that I came to dread bath time every night. One night I told him he should try to “beat the water.” We put it to a tune, “Beat the Water! Beat the Water!” He ended up putting other words to it, but for the life of me I…

    Moving On Up!

    Yesterday was the end of an era. Drew finished his years at elementary school. It’s hard to imagine these 5 years have gone by so fast. I can honestly look back at those 5 years and be satisfied with the education he received. For the most part he liked all his teachers and so did we. So now on to middle school for 6th & 7th grade. Then, junior high for 8th & 9th. In 6th grade they are in teams with 4 teachers. He’s on the Leopard team, so he’s been anxiously finding out from everyone what team they’re…
