    Pizza Bagel Party

    The day after Thanksgiving was a day of tailgating, celebrating, and football. For the Iron Bowl, I decided to have to have a Pizza party with mini-pizzas. I kept it simple with minimal ingredients, but for a true pizza party here’s what you will need: Ingredients: Mini-Bagels (cut in half) Soft Dinner Rolls (cut in half) Pizza sauce Shredded Mozzarella cheese Shredded Cheddar cheese Mini-pepperonis or Pepperonis sliced in 4ths Ground Cooked Italian Sausage Diced ham Sliced black olives Slice mushrooms Pepperoncinis Banana peppers Parmesan cheese Red pepper flake This list could go on and on. Just put whatever pizza…

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Earlier this year while going through all the stuff I got from my Grandmother’s house, I came across a book with a lot of my stuff from school. Seeing these Thanksgiving projects brought back many memorable memories and I just had to share them. My turkey from 2nd grade (I think) My Thanksgiving letter from 1st grade Now this! This I love! This was from 2nd Grade where our assignment was to tell How to Prepare a Thanksgiving meal…

    Family Campout with Cub Scouts

    Back in October we went with Pack 29 Cub Scouts to Family Camp. For those of you who don’t realize, Drew crossed over to Boy Scouts in April and Alex isn’t old enough to be in Cub Scouts. That means that Rob is a the Cubmaster while not having a son in the organization. That’s true dedication in my eyes! Totally! You should see the time he puts in to it. Anyway, so here’s some pics from our fun weekend. Our campgrounds Rob handing out bracelets to the cub scouts One of the activities One of Drew’s friends who came…

    Life Update

    I’ve been so busy lately. I started a temporary job at the Auburn University Library. I’m there four days a week M-Th from 6 pm to 12 am. I also substitute as much as possible and still work at the day care teaching music M & W. All this means that if I sub on M & W I work from 7 am to 12 am!! WOW! If it sounds like I’m complaining, I’m not! I’m actually shocked at myself that I’m able to survive this, and very glad to have this opportunity to get some extra money, with school…

    Show Us Your Life {Pets}

    Today is Show Us Your Life, Pets edition. Here is Rosie, who is are Pebroke Welsh Corgi. We’ve had her for about 9 years. We were living in our first home, had only been there a few months. We had been without a dog for not quite a year after having our other Pembroke Corgi, Jenny, pass away. Rosie is a lover of popcorn, candy (only because she’s good at somehow getting a hold of candy, which she’s not supposed to have!), sleeping, long naps in the sun while lying on the deck, and relaxing in one of the 2…

    Friday’s Favorite App: Restaurant Nutrition

    by: Foundation HealthCare Network Category: Healthcare & Fitness Released: August 2008 Size: 1.1 MB I love this app. This is great for those of us who are trying to make better choices when we have no other choice but to east fast food. Of course, since I have an iPod and can’t access it when I’m out I have to do where I have free wifi. Regardless I find this very useful and informative. Below you can see the information that it gives you for the item you’re trying to look up. Here it shows the screen which is so…

    Halloween Costumes Through the Years

    For Kelly’s Show Us Your Life entry, I’m posting my kids’ pictures. I would at some point like to go through all my old pics and see if I can find pictures from my childhood Halloweens and scan them in. Maybe I’ll have that done by next Halloween… 2009 2008 – Didn’t get pictures!     Mummy Magnet {Halloween craft}

    This mummy magnet is so easy, but still fun for kids of all ages. As a former teacher, I understand when you need a little something to fill time, whether it be in the classroom, at a party, or just at home one rainy afternoon. Having these few materials on hand, could be a life saver! It makes for a cute little magnet on the fridge to bring back those fun fall memories. Makes: 1 Making Time: 10-20 minutes depending on age Materials: Wooden ice cream spoon White glue 2 googly eyes 1 magnet (or instead of making a magnet…

    Fall Decorations 2009

    This year is the first year of decorated for fall in several years. I love decorating for fall. It’s nothing major or extravagant. I love mums and pumpkins, but you won’t see those this year due to lack of funds. We will carve a pumpkin, but haven’t done that yet. I also love pumpkin spice candles in the fall. MMmmmmm…. Most of my Fall/Halloween decorations were gifts from past students. I also used to love to go to Big Lots and find little knick-knacks too. I have some great ideas for Fall/Halloween decorations and recipes. I’m hoping to go next…

    What’s in a Name?

    Writing Assignment: 3.) How did you parents choose your name? What does it mean? What would you change your name to if you could? (inspired by Mama’s Losin It) This writing assignment was difficult to choose. I could have written about almost all of them! I chose to write about my name. I don’t use my name on here too much. I’m going to put it here now, but since google is so smart I’m adding stars to trick google up! Lysha pronounced Lee-sha. My mom had actually decided to name me Miranda, but my Dad’s grandmother and my Mom…

    Friday’s Favorite: Spark People

    SparkPeople by: SparkPeople Category: Healthcare & Fitness Released: February 2009 Size: 1.1 MB Spark People is an app to keep up with your fitness and healthcare goals. I’ve used sparkpeople.com for years and really like it. I think the app is even better. There are many different tools on the app, some of which include weight goal, daily food intake, daily fitness log, and useful charts. I would highly recommend this app and the website for anyone who is goal oriented eager to keep with food intake and setting goals.

    Show Us Your Life {Favorite Team, Tailgating, & Traditions}

    My favorite team is Auburn. It’s not just a team I root for, it’s my alma mater. Auburn is now home and has been since I moved here in 1996. It’s great living in a college town. Although, we don’t “tailgate” much, we often meet up with other tailgaters or usually just hang out on campus before games. We enjoy the parades & pep rallies before the games. Drew posing with the homecoming floats (a few years ago). Before every game there is always lots of fun stuff for kids, like face painting. Tigerwalk is like nothing you’ve ever seen!…

    Friends {a poem}

    Writing Assignment: 2.) Find your one very favorite picture of Summer and write a poem about it. (inspired by Mama’s Losin It) This is one of my favorite pictures from summer. Usually my fav pics do not include me, but I do love this one because of my great friend in it. Friends are something we often take for granted. Friends are people who are there no matter how bad life gets. They’re there to root you on when the going is good. They are not jealous of your accomplishments. They support you no matter what. They don’t turn their…

    Soccer Tourney 2009::Gulfport, MS

    Last weekend we went to Gulfport, MS for a soccer tourney. We chose to stay at some condos across from the beach called Sienna on the Coast with some friends who have a son on the Drew’s team. We had a good time. Nice, clean, new condos with all the essentials. The beach is not really even worth calling a beach, but I did get some cool bird pics, which I’ll share later. We enjoyed cooking breakfast and eating lunch at the condo, not having to spend money of food. We did enjoy dinner with the team at Blow Fly…
