    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 5

    Today I’m thankful for my job. I love my job and even if I didn’t I’m thankful to finally have steady income after several year so of not having it. I love my job for many reasons… -an easy going, flexible, easy to work with, easy to talk to, boss (who hosts great parties) -great students who I get to work with and supervise -working at the university where I graduated from -great benefits -working in library is so much more than what most people would think (I’ll write a post about this later)

    Traditional Fall Wreath

    I have finally decided to take the plunge and start crafting and decorating a little here and there. I miss it so much and pinterest sure has made me crave it even more. Since I love Fall so much, it is a great time to get in the spirit and add touches of Fall through the house. A couple weeks ago, I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up a few things to make this Fall Wreath. There are several other type of Fall wreaths I want to make, but I decided to start with, what I call, a traditional…

    Fill in the Blank Friday 11.4.11

    1. My favorite thing about this week was finishing up on some crafts. 2. Colder weather makes me want to bundle up and get cozy by the fireplace. 3. Three things that make me terribly happy as of late are crafting, eating lunch with friends, 4. If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, I’d choose flip-flops. 5. My personality type is ISFJ: “Conservator”. Service and work oriented – very loyal. They are good nurses, teachers, secretaries, general practitioners, librarians, middle managers, and housekeepers. 6% of the total population. 6. I have a…

    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 4

    Today I’m thankful for our freedom. We get so wrapped in our daily lives that we don’t realize how lucky we are to: live where we want. do what we want. say what we want. It’s a luxury that is really taken for granted. I’m thankful for the soldiers that the risk their lives everyday and their families that sacrifice everyday.

    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 3

    Today I’m thankful for my friends. Today I had lunch with one of my “newer” friends and it was great. The more we’re together I realize, how alike we are in so many ways, and all the things we have in common. She’s someone I know I don’t have to act a certain way or do certain things to keep our friendship alive. Friendships are a 2 way street and we both give and take, which makes for a great relationship. I’m thankful for my “old” coworker friends, who I stay in touch with. We stay in contact through Facebook…

    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 2

    Today I am thankful for health insurance and the AU employee pharmacy. I am on the state retirement program again and although people gripe about it, we are truly blessed. $25 copay with great coverage. We also have really good drug insurance and what’s even better, Auburn University has their own pharmacy and all drugs are either $30 or free! AWESOME!! That is saving us a lot of money. I am thankful.

    30 days of Thankfulness – Day 1

    I’m going to do the 30 days of thankfulness challenge and they are in no particular order. I’m going to base what I’m thankful for according to my current life happenings. So today I’m thankful for my blog and the company that hosts it, Eleven2. The reason being, yesterday I was quickly trying to do something on here before I had to run out and get Alex from school. When I got back to the posts page in WordPress it showed NO POSTS! I had deleted every single post. 6 years of writing, 6 years of memories, 6 years of…

    Halloween Party 2011

    Some really good friends of ours, J & R, have a big Halloween party every year where each of their kids gets to invite 5 kids each, so there was about 25-30 kids. Needless to say they needed our help. Rob and R have become great friends over the past couple of years. R’s boys are in our cub scout pack and R is one of the Assistant cub masters. Although our kids are varying in age, you would never know. We’ve been over to their house a few times in the last couple months and we don’t hear a…

    Fill in the Blank Friday 10.27.11

    1. When I was a kid I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up, just like my 2 uncles. 2. As an adult, my dream job would be either a house wife, or after my kids leave home, I’d like a job to that travels, but like I’ve said before I’m pretty in love with my job now! 3. When I was younger I wanted to be just like 4. The childhood Halloween costume that I remember most was when I was a punk rocker. 5. My favorite childhood toy was Cabbage Patch Kids. 6. The time I…

    Total Randomness

    Although, a few weeks ago I was trying so hard to get my pics uploaded and put here for my 365, I’ve taken on a few new projects that have consumed every extra second of the day. I’m still working on my sister’s wedding pics. Yes, I’m going very slowly with them. I’m also catching up with old video clips that I’ve taken with my video camera. I’ve had to remake some of the videos because when I made the original movie I didn’t make the different sizes. I just made them strictly for web use. Anyway, hadn’t been too…

    Den Meeting {For the Birds}

    Today we worked on Wolf Elective #13. We first went out and looked for birds. We were able to find a few birds. The boys had a hard time being quiet, which scared away the majority of the birds. After that we went inside and made the good ole standby activity; peanut butter pinecone bird feeders. Bonus: eating the peanut butter!

    Fill in the Blank Friday 10.7.11

    1. Something popular that I can’t stand/just don’t “get” is the whole Starbucks craze. I don’t like coffee and even if I did, spending $6 on a drink (that doesn’t contain alcohol) is just crazy! 2. Something unpopular that I secretly love is my Down comforter …. I don’t know if that’s unpopular or not … I couldn’t think of anything else. 3. When I’ve had a bad day I just try to chill out in front of the TV, or better yet, just going to sleep it off. 4. I’d prefer to be sleeping right now. 5. Something that…

    Steve Jobs 1955-2011

    There are so many things that I’m struck by that I want to write about, but the words just don’t come to me or if they do they don’t make any sense. This time, I don’t care. I’m just in complete disbelief that Steve Jobs, the founder and creative genius of Apple Computers has passed away. He always said, “if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.” He wrote is resignation letter on August. 24,…

    Happy Birfday to Moi!

    Today was my birthday and it was good. My day started off by having to go the Auburn Satellite Office to get my tags renewed. Nothing like waiting to the last minute, but I’ve never done it before and didn’t realize Rob would want me to do it this year. Anyway, being that it was the last day of the month it was PACKED. I was there for over an hour waiting in line. After that I decided to go home for a bit and pick up a few things and then go shopping, but after emailing Rob where I…

    Den Meeting {100 year old Crop Rotation}

    Today Drew’s Cub Scout Den went on a field trip to a crop rotation field, which we were able to make off 15e (Visit a botanical garden or other agricultural exhibition in your area.) in his Wolf book . There they grow cotton, soy beans, and corn. This crop rotation study is 100 years old this year. Pretty amazing! Cullars Rotation Soy Beans: These are used for making plastics. This particular crop is not the type of soy bean that is used for foods. Busted cotton Look at my baby! See all the pictures from this den meeting here. At…

    10 Day You Challenge: Day 6 {Four Books}

    I have not been able to read lately. Just too darn busy and when I’m not busy, I’m exhausted and just not in the mood to read. So it’s not the desire to that’s lacking and that’s a good thing! When I get a chance, I want to read these four books… The London Eye Mystery Before I Die Dance Lessons Tenderness
