Here’s a dip recipe that is great hot or cold. This is one of my favorites to make during football season when you’re making NFL picks/parlays. With football commencing for both college football and NFL in the next few weeks, I decided to share this recipe in case you’re looking for a new recipe to make.
Today I’m serving up a bit of a spicy dip that I called “Hot Tiger Dip.”
Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1 package creme cheese
4 oz. sour cream
1 tbs. Tabasco
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups of Mexican shredded cheese (1 1/2 cup in the dip; 1/2 for topping
1 lb. breakfast sausage (I used “Hot”)
1/2 cup shredded ham
1 small onion, finely diced
1/3 cup pickled jalapeños
small can of green chills
2 tbs. olive oil
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in small sauce pan.
2. Add in diced onion and sausage. Make sure to break sausage up into small pieces. (If you’re extra lazy like me, you’ll run it through the food processor.)
3. Cook until onions are caramelized and sausage is cooked all the way through.
4. Soften cream cheese in the microwave.
5. Make sure its soft enough to stir. If so add in sour cream, tabasco, and garlic powder. Use a hand mixer to mix well.
6. Add in each ingredient and mix lightly.
7. Spoon into baking dish and top with 1/2 cup of remaining shredded cheese.
8. Bake for 20 minutes with top covered with lid or foil.
9. Remove lid or foil and bake for 5-10 minutes to brown the top just a bit.
10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes or so.
This dip is great served warm or cold, which is great for tailgating.
