Rob and I DVR everything. When we got the DVR a few years ago, we never realized how it would revolutionize our TV watching. I think we’re able to watch 2-3 times the amount of TV that we used to. Skipping commercials and sometimes skipping stuff that’s boring or monotonous saves a ton of time. Working so much the DVR has been a “life-saver” or should I say a TV saver…literally! (I crack myself up!) Anyway, I had actually started writing this post waaaay back…don’t even remember when. So anyway, I’m thinking I need blog about TV more, because well…I’m…

I wrote a few years ago about my traditions I had growing up, but not sure I’ve talked about the traditions we’ve started with our family. 1.) Choosing & cutting down a real Christmas tree ourselves Growing up, I never had a real tree. So now that I’ve been in Auburn for 14 Christmases every year we’ve had a real tree. We love the Virginia Pines, but there was a year that those were hard to find around here, so we settled for a Cyprus. We now have a place that we go to every year with a hayride through…

Saw this from Fun Mama. I like doing these and haven’t done one exactly like this before. Outside my window… beautiful 67 degree weather. I am thinking… why my 11 year old is crawling around on the floor when he’s supposed to be in bed. I am thankful for… my family and the roof over my head. I am wearing… my comfy gown since it is almost bedtime. I am remembering… how much I enjoyed having date night with Rob and wish we could do that again. I am going… to be going to bed soon after watching more shows…

The day after Thanksgiving was a day of tailgating, celebrating, and football. For the Iron Bowl, I decided to have to have a Pizza party with mini-pizzas. I kept it simple with minimal ingredients, but for a true pizza party here’s what you will need: Ingredients: Mini-Bagels (cut in half) Soft Dinner Rolls (cut in half) Pizza sauce Shredded Mozzarella cheese Shredded Cheddar cheese Mini-pepperonis or Pepperonis sliced in 4ths Ground Cooked Italian Sausage Diced ham Sliced black olives Slice mushrooms Pepperoncinis Banana peppers Parmesan cheese Red pepper flake This list could go on and on. Just put whatever pizza…

Earlier this year while going through all the stuff I got from my Grandmother’s house, I came across a book with a lot of my stuff from school. Seeing these Thanksgiving projects brought back many memorable memories and I just had to share them. My turkey from 2nd grade (I think) My Thanksgiving letter from 1st grade Now this! This I love! This was from 2nd Grade where our assignment was to tell How to Prepare a Thanksgiving meal…

Back in October we went with Pack 29 Cub Scouts to Family Camp. For those of you who don’t realize, Drew crossed over to Boy Scouts in April and Alex isn’t old enough to be in Cub Scouts. That means that Rob is a the Cubmaster while not having a son in the organization. That’s true dedication in my eyes! Totally! You should see the time he puts in to it. Anyway, so here’s some pics from our fun weekend. Our campgrounds Rob handing out bracelets to the cub scouts One of the activities One of Drew’s friends who came…

I’ve been so busy lately. I started a temporary job at the Auburn University Library. I’m there four days a week M-Th from 6 pm to 12 am. I also substitute as much as possible and still work at the day care teaching music M & W. All this means that if I sub on M & W I work from 7 am to 12 am!! WOW! If it sounds like I’m complaining, I’m not! I’m actually shocked at myself that I’m able to survive this, and very glad to have this opportunity to get some extra money, with school…

Today is Show Us Your Life, Pets edition. Here is Rosie, who is are Pebroke Welsh Corgi. We’ve had her for about 9 years. We were living in our first home, had only been there a few months. We had been without a dog for not quite a year after having our other Pembroke Corgi, Jenny, pass away. Rosie is a lover of popcorn, candy (only because she’s good at somehow getting a hold of candy, which she’s not supposed to have!), sleeping, long naps in the sun while lying on the deck, and relaxing in one of the 2…

We always have a great time out at Mr. Tony’s place, cutting wood, playing with the dogs, walking around, watching the horses, chasing the chickens…What more could you ask for? See all the pics from our day here.

by: Foundation HealthCare Network Category: Healthcare & Fitness Released: August 2008 Size: 1.1 MB I love this app. This is great for those of us who are trying to make better choices when we have no other choice but to east fast food. Of course, since I have an iPod and can’t access it when I’m out I have to do where I have free wifi. Regardless I find this very useful and informative. Below you can see the information that it gives you for the item you’re trying to look up. Here it shows the screen which is so…

Today after hours of slaving in the kitchen for tomorrow, I took a break to help the boys make these cute turkeys to share with everyone at Turkey Day tomorrow. Here are the ingredients, some of which we didn’t end up using. I would have taken step by step picture to show how we did it, but I was trying to keep the boys from wearing half the chocolate icing. 🙂

Last night we came up to my in-laws near Atlanta. We visited with them and had dinner. We spent the night and got up this morning and drove to Tucker, Ga for the Triumph Cup Tournament. Drew had a rough day and it was pretty cold. After the game this evening we went to Northlake Mall for a quick snack and then back to the hotel. We had delivery from Golden Sun and watched football. One game tomorrow before lunch and we’re headed home. I need to get busy editing from the last photo session I did and get that…

So yah, I haven’t been on here regularly….really in over a year. Life has had its major ups and down the last year and half. I’ve always believed that God only gives you what you can handle but sometimes I wonder! I’m not going to rehash everything, but I’m sure as I start writing more, more will come out. It’s not that I’m wanting to hide anything, just don’t want to bore you with details. What I will say is that in May I was laid off right before getting out for summer. Alabama has a serious problem with their…

I was tagged by Deanna. Six Random Things About Me: 1. I like Facebook more than Myspace now. 2. I’m eating peanut butter cookies and milk right now. 3. My 4 yo had his last soccer game tonight. 4. My Granny turns 80 next week. 5. I love milk. 6. I feel like I should elaborate more on these, but oh well. 🙂 Those interested to do this, go for it, and let me know.

I don’t have much of an update. I think all my readers have vanished so I haven’t been too concerned about updating. My life is still an upside down mess, but will hopefully be getting back on track soon. Sorry I can’t go into details, but it’s pretty personal. Thanks for understanding.

This morning I found out that one of my student’s mother was murdered last night. When he got up he went to wake his mom up and walked through what he thought was water (because ‘the pipes are always leaking’) and it ended up being his own mother’s blood. He found her dead, beaten, stabbed, and her throat was slit. When his homeroom teacher went to check on him today he was outside being interviewed by TV reporters. What the heck is wrong with those people? This 5th grade child just found his mother dead and they have TV cameras…
