Yesterday was exciting! I met Emily at Chick-Fil-A. It was my first time to meet another blogger. I also got to meet her little boy, Justice, who is just as cute as he can be. I really enjoyed having lunch with her and talking. If you haven’t met Emily, go over and say hi!

I love to travel, just love it. But what I don’t love is getting ready to travel. Cleaning the house, packing, cleaning out the car, making sure we have everything, going to the store, paying bills, and the list goes on and on. We had a busy weekend. Saturday we went to Birmingham and went to the Birmingham Botanical & Japanese Gardens. Then, we went to the Summit to shop. We ate dinner at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, which is so awesome! We really had a good time. I’ll post pictures later. Now we’re getting ready to head to Texas Thursday. Well, I gotta go get some stuff done, so I’ll be back later.

I check out the RAAM website along with my Uncle’s Team’s Blog site (Blog deleted) several times a day for updates. I just looked at it and was very sad to see that Bob Breedlove passed away during the race today. You can read about it here. This is so sad and scary. He was a solo rider. He was 53, same age as my uncle who’s in the race. They believe he collapsed and swerved into a truck head on. On a happier note, let’s continue to root on my uncle and his partner in their quest. Drew went bug catching today. We keep getting these little black millipede/caterpillar like bugs in the house, but they die real fast. I guess because of the cool climate inside. Anyway, so he decided he wanted to get some of these. He made a contraption with 2 different size plastic lids. Here’s what he said to the bug: “Hey little bug. I’ve trapped you in your new home. This summer is flying by like it always does! I’ve been juggling time with my kids with trying to get stuff done for work! I just love people who say that teachers get off 3 months for summer and yada-yada-yada! I know that I only get 9 weeks off and 1 to 2 of those weeks, I’m usually in workshops all day! The rest of the summer I’m busy trying to make games, write lesson plans, look for activities, make study sheets, learn new curriculums, etc. etc!!!! So I digress. This reminded me that I didn’t post about T baby’s 15 month appointment the other day! He’s 24 lbs. 11 oz. and 31 inches long, which about 50th percentile. The doctor asked if he was walking and climbing and going all over the place. I told him he wasn’t walking yet. I said that he was just taking 3 or 4 steps here or there. Wow! Just listened to another report from the Team Endorphins Blog (blog removed). My Uncle and his partner Shanna are fighting 106 degree weather in the Mojave Desert! The crew also had to deal with swarms of bees! Uh-oh! Dad! 🙂 (My dad’s on the crew!) Anyway listening to these is so inspiring! They started in San Diego, CA and are now in on their way to Williams, AZ, which is their next time station!

I just listened to the Audio blog on my Uncle Guy’s Racing Blog. The race is underway and Guy started the race with a 2 and half hour leg! Then, Shanna took over for her leg of the race and then Guy will have a 5 hour leg. They’re doing tests after each leg and Guy had lost 4 lbs. during the 1st leg, which is not good. They think he wasn’t drinking enough so they hopefully have that problem remedied! You can listen for your self here (blog removed) if you’d like!! Go Team Endorphins!!!
